The dollar has sunk farther from the pound and that makes it 2:1 now, so that bike costs $30,000 from exchange which is 3K more than they wanted here if I remember right, stupid US dollar
-
IF only, IF only. The best bet I have to ridding one of those is three options, sell everything I have and buy one and a trailer home, but what a ride who cares where I live right? second, win the lottery, and third the most optomistic option is to drive up to canada and beg jimbo to let me sit on it now if they came out with a road legal 4v'er new or old MGS for say $15-18K I don't think I'd look twice at the 1098 but at a expected $30K or more to get a MGS and make it road legal I'm not able
-
OH you better believe the man is getting a point btw I Luuuuve Rosso Mandello's be nicer to'em would ya? I'm in the process of making my own Rosso Mandello redframed beauty, looks like an italian christmas card right now but at least it turns heads baby.
-
I'm thinking I need to add the CF chin fairing for the engine and the CF front fender then I'd be able to complete my theme better until I get the tail painted.
-
do you ppl mean soulfood? what the heck are you talking about slowfood? I'm going to assume soul food, I mean is that what other places call BBQ?
-
here, lemme just give you someything... but I wonder if I'me due for another after my M6 valve bolt fiasco.
-
That'll get my fancy going, I only sat on a breva and oh my what a comfy chair she was, the griso, not so much but looks nicer. I'd love a 8v griso or a MGS road bike I'd only get the 1200s if my V11 got totaled. while comfy they are still rather similar and I like the retro style better.
-
oh its not been used, so not dull, just will dull quickly.
-
pretty sure I have a 1/4" black and decker drill bit, probably not made for drilling out aluminum but then it was a cheap set so who cares if I ruin the bit anyway
-
thanks for the tip the one off bass lake rd is about a mile from me, I'll go and buy some of the M6x30's ASAP, might even be a decent fix until the helicoil kit arrives for the one hole, just for reference I did find one kit and ordered it already, I assume its the right kit here
-
I found the timesert for about $70 but I got the heli's for $15, the recoils I found for about $110 so that must be nice or just austrailian I dunno so I'll go with heli's and pick up some red locktight I think I only have blue right now. Longer screws wouldn't hurt, I'll see what I can find, unless someone already sourced them it seems like when I goto my local fasteners store(and more than one) they don't have much for metric with hex heads I'll have to find a REAL fasteners store, maybe just order my stuff online.

when I first clicked on it I thought it was K&N vs UNI, I thought OH Good God here we go again but maybe I should learn to read, and type, better could you stick that nut on that KnN up against a grinding wheel and shave off half of it? just a thought, don't know what it could hurt if its just a superficial nut anyway not pretty, but effective , can't back off the filter if its held on by the manhole right? I need me a sloppy sheet but I'm trying to find a new job first
-
again something that could have been brought to my attention YESTERDAY but I'll go pick up the proper size T-hex wrench and keep that in mind from now on, I knew it doesn't take much to do that with a aluminum head and whatever kind of steel that bolt is, I think I have "The Feel" for how tight it needs to be now. learned the hard way but learned none the less. I also "glued" in the bolt because its not likely to fall out I mostly don't want any stuff falling into said hole until I can fix it the right way.
-
Thanks alot guys, The auto store only had them for spark plugs nothing smaller, I'll be getting a set of those gaskets and replace the right side if it continues to leak, also good to have a spare around I say. I put the thread locker on the hole let it dry, packed out the bolt and put more thread locker on it and put it back it hand tight, I'll leave it like that and should be rideable with nothing intense in mind until I can get it fixed right and proper, I mean it was working fine with two all loose whats one glued in? ahhhh I feel another bodge coming my way. btw the new tank doesn't hit the forks I am thinking my tank was warped and I the CF chin pad fits in and lines right up where it didn't before so that bodge is unbodged. I kinda go in phases of a bodge that'll do until I can get it unbodged and bodged up right and proper

went to my local hardware and autoparts and nothing so this is the kit I need? http://cgi.ebay.com/Helicoil-Sav-A-Thread-...1QQcmdZViewItem looks like everything is there well I already ordered it, only thing I found for M6 bolts, the Recoil kits are WAY more expensive but I assume comes with more stuff this thing will be handy to have around.
-
I might need a new valve cover gasket but two of the bolts were loose, as in spin'em off with your fingers loose on the back side of the engine, I will look at a new gasket but I wonder how long till that arrives given guzzi parts?
-
you make a very good, should have, would have, will do in the future, point. Anything into alumbest to go by hand, it only takes a lil bit to go from just right tight to OH SHITE Well I'm off to a autoparts store to see if I can get a helicoil. maybe buy a few for that just incase future thread failures
-
anyone give me some help, appears I either didn't set my torq wrench properly, or just gave too hard of a twist, OR tightened the bolt down too hard the lest time but I have a valve cover bolt that was just about tight enough and then spin spin spin, back it out and the threads are on the bolt I have all the other bolts tight and I put some medium threadlock on there and put it back in the hole and gave it a turn, any decent fixes short of a new head? its the bolt on the leftside of the bike furthest foward that holds the valve cover And the head guard. I was retorqin the whole thing because a couple were loose and leaking oil all over the bike. I'm thinking if I buy a slightly larger pitch bolt(dunno where) then I could regroove the hole when the engine is hot, let it cool then tighten it down. any ideas? I'm kinda freaked out right now for being so stupid
-
the red is Hott, I'd get one if thats what I was looking for over a BMdubya or a HD thats fer sure, on my second bike problems, looks like the 1098 is going back to 999 prices here next year which lifts it out of my price range at 18k, 15 is ok 18 no way, wonderful, absofreakingloutly wonderful
