I'm with ya but don't like the idea of a clamp in there, any idea if the backing off filters were possibly all the same 'cheap' aftermarket from somewhere? I'm going to get a K&N filter this spring for'er have any of these backed off? I might just put a smidge of weak lock tight and a good extra firm crank on'er and let'er buck. should I worry? hmm. I wonder if Motoprimo actaully replaced my filter or if they couldn't get the stock one off and left it. how long would the original be good for?

The bike is going to be Stronger Faster and Better built than the 999, It is also going to have cheaper service due to it being redesigned to make the engine last longer and maintain easier. This is what I've heard from the Ducati guys that own ducati dealers and work for ducati, new price out the door in the US for a base 1098 will be $15k around 17-18 for the S and 19-20 for the Tri-color. Cheaper and farther apart service intervals. I will probably buy one of these in 5 years.

god HOW did you know, I love the Vantage, but I also love the DB9 and the vanquish, I also like the maseratti and would love to have the new 599 gtb!!!! I want so much and have so little. For the money you can't beat the looks a exclusivity of the Aston Martin, and then my last name is Martin so that makes it doubly appealing. I think you can get a V8 Vantage for 90K maybe a little more about the same as a maseratti and I like the Vantage way more.

if you have trouble getting the filter off drop the pan and stick a screw driver rigth through the middle of the damn thing and spin it off with your new filter removal tool Put the new one on pretty tight, you really REALLY don't want that thing backing off(its happened RARE but has happened) I wonder if one of those fancy oil filters that has like a 11/16th nut welded to the top of it would fit inside the manhole? would make changing the filter a freaking snap.

FBF shouldn't take more than a week max, My local dealer ordered them for me as they are a sorta dealer of their crap. Now anyone know a way to help protect the carbon resin from UV damage? maybe some sunblock?
