  1. it looked like his back end just came out. did he goose it? hit sand? maybe it wasn't all his fault. It didn't even look like he was going that fast, he's real lucky the bike took most of it and bucked him off, I'm sure he only has a few scratches. lucky dumb bastard. at least grab the brakes and low side it if you have to, better than head on like that.
  2. Ah thats a great idea, I love, LOVE the look of that V4 and to put it on a much much more affordable 999, that'd be something. Worth every penny if it can be done bike and all for under say $18,000 (bike 13-15K)
  3. this is no joke, 5'2" and under only need apply, as for me my wrist hurt just sitting on it at the bike show. very uncomfortable. seat is a plank too.
  4. ah yes ogle had filtered my results. thanks for the tip.
  5. yeah it appears to be barely damaged? something odd here.
  6. THAT v4 IS FREAKING HOT, I'm saying I likes it. A lot. but like Paul said its far beyond my price range, far far beyond like the price of 4 bikes. Aprilia is making thier cube soon, I hear 2009 pr was it 2008? So Aprilia will be right on Duc's heels but the Ducs will obviously sell better. Personally I like the grunt and pureness of a VeeTwin. Are the 999 desmo's easy enough to work on or is a work in futility? I just finished the valve adjustments and head retorq, it took 3 hours but next time will take 30min it was super easy.
  7. har har har... I';; be back with more once my main puter is back up. Should get my replacement video card tomorrow.
  8. I feel the engine stops the bike better than the Rear brakes so I only use the rear when coming to a more abrupt stop. corners are almost all throttle control for me who needs brakes she handles like a dream. Maybe not like an R1 but then who gives a rats ass the thing is a tank and it handles like a sport bike. After riding the R6(much harder to ride well) I'm even more content with my torq machine.
  9. That is very true they should add to the rule, Change out the wheel bearings and if its o2 and before wrap those fuel lines. unless those are on there then my apologies.
  10. I got the tank today but I'm curious... IS the Rosso Mandello tanks... are they Stock tank resprays? Like they got the idea to do the Rosso's and then said Sh!t guys we don't have enough tanks around. Because it looks like a perfect stock rosso tank from MG BUT I see guzzi green around the holes for the fuel and the top chin pad, not much but enough to make me go HMMMM
  11. Umm, they look pretty close to me, just mail them to my house and you can have my crappy silver ones.
  12. and are you saying I have a small unit?
  13. thats a good point, if I hate it I'll sell the tank in near perfect condition and just have my silver repainted like I was originally going to with the bottom half of it having a green nike esq swoosh.
  14. Also I got the CF chin pad from orangeokie, will have to ask him where he procured it.
  15. I don't think that lime green one works, Well see how it looks when I'm done. We shall see. hold your comments till I get some pics. Ppl have such varying taste whats crap to you is gold to another it might work. anything think it'll work? damn it better look nice. Maybe go with red rims and a red seat red screw set, if a little red will bite how about I make the damn thing chomp!!
  16. So...... I'm going to buy new rears, and maybe fronts, the fronts are ok but will need to be changed soon the rears are just about done. Good thing I caught it when I did really, What is the best option for the rear? the EBC, SBS or Ferodo? or other??
  17. what a relief, here I am sitting thinking, (are my brakes shot??) I'll give them a good look over tomorrow, wheres a good place to get replacements?
  18. jesus, how much do you use yours BFG? mine are still ok at 14K, I'm sure I need new ones soon but damn.
  19. get a buddy to hold the tank off to the side without disconnecting anything and you take the whole airbox out. Then get the K&N's speaking of which I really need to clean mine. They sound great tho.
  20. I mean really how much info can a dyno give you if youre not fine tuning the mix and pinpointing flat spots, if you just want to know the power that doesn't matter so much to me its more of a seat of the pants I'm getting my dyno'd so the TB's get balanced and the PCIII programmed and I really don't care what power it makes I just don't want it to ping anymore. At this point I just want it to purr to 100,000 with nothing more than a clutch*knock on wood* Looking at others dyno's they seem about as reliable as a fortune teller
  21. if I didn't have the sport I'd actually set my sites on the big breva, very comfy the griso just didn't fit me tho the looks are nicer. But heres to hoping nothing bad ever happens to my silver eagle(soon to be red)
  22. I need one, and I'd pay $50 for one too, now how to get it without the wife knowing... not that its very much but I blew out my budget this year.
  23. 1:51 stupid game
  24. think you could do that on a Super Duke with Ulysses's tires?? thats sweet but I'd want more street than dirt for comfort and looks personally.
  25. I got kanuder valves, rotator spindels and blinker fluid but I'm plum out of pins, sorry
