I'm just going to have my tank painted in the Rosso fashion. I think a nice layer of gold metallic then a candy red on top will do just nicely.
-
how hard to install?
-
I have a 17in and it says 23. WTF mate? oh no its spiraling into what time is it... someone save it quick.
-
I got it from MaxMoto, and yeah. pricey but with only 3 options and 1 telling me to piss off another 50 pounds sterling more I went for maxmoto. Wish me luck I'll let all you clowns know how about the fit and finish, PS I do want the Guzzi jacket I just don't want to pay for it right now, I'm getting my bike dyno tuned I just chaged all the oil and now this helmet I'm about maxing out my bike budget and its only may.
-
I broke down and bought one. I hope to GOD it fits alright. But the nolan I have didn't fit too well at first and I just powered through and now its perfect BUT all the paint is coming off its 5 years old and has technically been in an accident, 2 if you count it saving my buddys face from a 4wheelers handle bars. (somewhat long story) Anyway now I can ride in style. Just need the MG XXL jacket if I can ever find one.

You make ONE hell of an argument there dlaing. ONE hell of an argument. I already like the 675, I wonder if it'll fit my 6'2" frame. I know the R6 fits nicely enough. HMMM. Alright First choice RSV, second 675!, third R6. I started off wanting a triumph speed triple and found the guz, maybe I'm destine to own a triumph.

that sucks. they the dealer told me they can't get any suomy modulars in till next year. haven't been approved. The dealer I found in italy told me to bugger off I'd like to try on a suomy but I have yet to see a local place that has'em and I've been all over.
-
OH I see them now, thanks martin
-
these are more fitting for your small european roads.
-
I've been looking for the Suomy XL Moto Gozzi flip up helmet and I found one in italy but I haven't found others, My dealer said they aren't DOT approved yet, Which I just find funny because I would think euro standards to be higher than DOT, but whatever. Anyone know of a place that has'em that might ship it discretely to an American? or know of one near you that I could pay for you to get and send me? anyone? Dealer said try the germans, but I don't specken de deutch.

silly cheeseheads, you can't race multistradas but gu-luck
-
Dealer said it would be $440 for the service and I dunno about them like I said. well anyway I got the bike with 3800 on it so I know the 6K retorqin hasn't been done. I will get right on that. As soon as I find my torq wrench. I'll pay special attention to removing the rockers and putting them in the right way. I've had plenty of RC building experience so this shouldn't be a problem. I just got done throughly washing the princess now I need to see if I can find those plugs for the flywheel.

I had a tiny bit of mayo come out at the end of my oil change last night. I was slightly worried but now I see its no big whup.
-
could someome put it in more elaborated terms on how to find TDC? I read that valve adjustment guide and I'm not totally sure on that. Also should I do the valves AND retorq the heads my bike has 13,500 on it. PS what size is the spark plug, none of my deep wells fit they are all too small and my spark plug socket is too BTW I did all the oils last night and it was pretty easy. I didn't change the oil filter this time because I've been told a local mechanical person that it can really be done every other time without any concern. Next time I'm dropping the pan and cleaning it out throughly BUT I need a bike stand for that and I don't currently have one so I went the easier route. On the rear drive why is there 3 plugs? I assume bottom to drain side? top fill? I can't see filling from the side. I really need a guzzi shop guide for dummies. But when you goto the dealer last time for new tires and they come to you asking how to get the bearing out (actually guy that works on guzzi's was out to lunch) I don't have a lot of confidence in my dealer.

you guys make some good points, I've looked into ducati's more and unless the test ride on the 999 shakes my world my first choice will be the RSV with the new body style 2004+, Second fall back choice if I can't find a good one or a decent price. R6!!! especially this one. This guy did everything I'd want to and it looks amazing. I can't believe a bike with a redline of 16k and does a wheelie in first gear just by twisting the throttle, hell cruising around 8k, once I got back on the guz I hit the rev limiter for the first time Would make a great toy thats for sure and dirt cheap compared to many. I'll have to check insurance tho. but I really do like the idea of just getting on and taking off. The guzz inspires confidence that it won't leave me stranded but like racerx said I would improve many times over if I wasn't afraid to scratch my baby

I had to ride it home because he doesn't have his lisence yet. WOW I rode it about 20 miles and the thing just flies. The bikes I'm looking at probably do the same but for twice the money. he got a red 2001 with 8K mi's a brand new alpine jacket brand new Icon gloves and a decent helmet for $5600. Half what I Was looking at for a Ducati or a RSV, Hell I could get the all black with red pin stripes R1 I like so much for about $7-8K I wish italians were just cheaper, I mean the R6 was fun but it had no soul. it did have a fully muzzy exhuast so it howled like the dickens. and does a wheelie in first with just a twist. Now I'm talking myself back into getting one.

now I really wish I would have found a rosso. ah well mine rides good too. I can always paint it.

aluminum clipons and bar end weights???
DeBenGuzzi replied to wheelsucker's topic in Technical Topics
then you would think the bars will fail regardless with mirrors or wrist weight on them. I say put them in if you have the vibes. If youre worried you might consider putting in a think sleeve of SS or hell I dunno something would be a lot of work but if youre really worried about it. I luv my salamanders I actually met and purchased them from the guy that makes'em. local for me so I got a nominal price break. -
good price? I can say I'm jealous but I do have an orignal red frame. so only slightly jealous.
-
I really like that exhaust on the top griso. or lack there of!! looks delish
-
I really like the 1200GS but I don't think I make enough money to OWN one.
-
Thats seals the deal, RSV for me.
-
bugger it all folks.
