But it couldnt pull a sailor off your auntie.
  4. Yep,dead right. It went really well,I had welded a pair of ally pipes onto the head so that twin carbs could be used as the two firing events were so close together and I didnt think a single carb would work. A spitfire cam was cut up and made to work with the welded crank. It was great fun and had a few guys scratching their heads cos it went "da-dum da-dum" at tickover.I used to have great fun lying to old giffers about it's provenance. BIAS engineering consultantancy.(Built In A Shed)Smoother than any of my other flashes/rockets, I've owned 8 altogether and this was basically built out of bits I had left.
  5. I dunno about that. Yonks ago I converted a BSA Golden Flash to fire 72deg apart, the crankpins almost being together. I made a new cam to suit. It ran a lot smoother than any normal Gold Flash. 72 deg was chosen cos a pal of mine who was good at maths worked out that the torque "push" from the pistons would be greatest at 72 deg apart.
  6. 21-15? Jeez, you better bring a big tank bag if you're staying that long. There might not even be ferries in 21-15. Maybe we'll all be hovering about.
  7. My head isn't worth that much. Ask anybody.
  8. Bloody great fun, innit. I had a laugh with some knob on a Gixxer 750 some while back,on the straights he'd scream past me, but where the road got twisty,he was more erect than a politician in choirboy practice.Away I went again.Haw haw. We met up at the pub and he's got all the brand new leathers, boots gloves, lid, handbag, the whole set. He's talking rear wheel steering and power slides and stuff and how fast these old Guzzis are in real life. Christ,I'm slower than treacle. I told him to just relax and have some fun. He'd been reading too many magazines I think. Another time,me and a Fireblade came from Ayr to Stranraer(about 60 miles) and had great fun, going for it a wee bit on some great roads and having a blast.Got to the ferry and watched the sun going down and chewed the fat. That was a great run,one for the wee memory book.
  9. How much and do they have the original tubes?
  10. BFG, no more, please. You are nuts ,in the most complimentary sense.Cant stop laughing. BTW, what time is it, I'm having trouble focusing just now
  11. No,I dont think I will. I think I'll just think ahead for a while and catch up that way
  12. OOOH, there's plenty left,I reckon with a bit of luck,I'll still be going at 7
  13. Today,I got drunk. The whole day.I spent the afternoon playing cd's and drinking anything that came to hand.Aint life just fu*king great, sometimes
  14. Not any more,it's later than it was earlier,I think. Have the clocks changed,or is it all in my head?It doesn't feel this late.
  15. What kind of fur? I prefer chinchilla, less chafing.
  16. Jim, that would be great. If you can get a couple, I'll re-inflate the carrier puffin and send one to the magical kingdom of the BFG. PM on it's way
  17. You can say what you like about Ryanair, yes the service is shite and you're treated like cattle, but I dont care when you can fly to the UK for less than a quid ( cheapest I ever got was 50 cents) I dont care. They've forced the other airlines to drop prices to compete,it's all good for the customer as far as I can see.
  18. Dont forget to order the official accessory heat exchanger if you want the tropical fish option.
  19. I use mine a lot to commute,80 miles round trip, and regularly go back to Scotland to see my kids, every second or third weekend or so. I put on Cafe Sport bars and a wee carbon flyscreen, apart from the usual engine mods, everything else is stock. I generally get a sore arse after about two hours so a stop for a smoke and some staring into space is in order. It's not a sofa, but it's pretty good at covering ground.
  20. Yep,I've been looking for one of those needle type thingies, but no luck so far. The only ones over here are dirty great things for tractors and lorries.
  21. Yepadoodle,I have 4 grease guns with various fittings but I cant find anything that'll go down the tunnel in the swinger and bend enough to get the grease gun to go on.I've tried so often, I can get the wheel and brake off in a couple of minutes. I have loosened the shroud around the u/j but there's not enough room to bend the fitting onto the nipple behind the footrest plate.
  22. Yeah, I used to fix aeroplanes for a living, and I know the ones you're on about but I'd need to get about 10 kinds of clearance to even show my face at the door of the maintainance hangers at Dublin airport. Thanks for the advice, tho, Big Chopper Jim
