  1. Ok, I've done over 20k miles on the old girl since I got her a year ago. I've tried every bloody engineers supplies shop and tool shop I can find and I still cannot find a fitting that I can get onto the front grease nipple. What are you guys this side of the pond using? I know that there's a fitting available in 'merickay, but I cant find sod all here. You'd think with all the tractors roaming Ireland that grease nipples would be a national pastime, but I'm totally unable to track anything down. Any info?
  2. If you book using the MCN saver thing you can usually get a return for about £40
  3. Somewhere like Bantry would be a good idea, but it's lovely anywhere down the south west. You should ask John O Sullivan on here, I hear he's he majority landowner in that area, but he wont tolerate smelly motorbikes in any of his castles. Soften up your suspension, the roads can be a wee bit bumpy at times.

  5. What bike is it?
  6. Men In Black? Harry Dean Stanton in Paris,Texas? The Invisible Man? The head in Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia? Boo Radley? The well meaning but ultimately misguided scientist in It Came From Another Planet? The creepy shopkeeper in Salems Lot? Alec Guiness in Kind Hearts And Coronets?
  7. I knew a guy with one donkeys years ago. It smoked like a power station chimney. Liked the looks of it tho
  8. There's something about that double wishbone front suspension that I like.
  9. Me an Jo went for a wee spin yesterday As usual when we set off the weather was great but it soon deteriorated into hail, sleet and rain showers. After a couple of hours,I was bloody freezing, the bike looks like it's been dipped in a slurry pit and visibility is crap with all the muck all over my visor.Lifting it freezes too much. We decided to head home, the roads dried out a bit and we got going pretty good, blatting down the Boyne valley, into a long sweeping right, and the whole plot slides about 3 feet to the left, gave a big twitch and gripped again. Took it a bit steadier after that. Today I went to work.Nuff said.

Ah ferchrissakes. I got to Scotland every few weks to see the kids. You'll be fine if you go during the day.At night, freezing fog is the worst, but take her handy and you'll be ok.
  11. Uh oh,I sense trouble Pete Roper is the guy to ask,PM him and get the full lowdown. He's wildly enthusiastic about gear drives and will probably bore you senseless on the many and varied advantages they have compared to chains.
  12. I dunno,BFG.I'm up to my bollocks in it at the moment. I've been using the bike through winter and she needs a bit of tlc, shes looking pretty rough. I'm restoring 4 cars as well and I'm still bringing stuff over from Scotland when I can prize it from the leprous grip of my venomous ex wife. Then there's popping back across to get the kids, see lawyers, catch up with the old mates,work,etc,etc......... So,after lunch,I'm free Yeah,Gambalunga.Featuring Martin Barrett, Guzzilands answer to Rudyard Kipling
  13. Looks good. Unfortunately, the inductive approximation sensor wont work with the flux capacitor on my bike.
  14. The carrier pigeon strolled by this morning, whistling, and casually lobed a copy of this month mag into the garden. Hell of a write up ,Martin fine stuff indeed.

  18. I take it all back You dont know where I can find a car wash like that do you?
  19. Bollocks to all that. Turn it round and go back out. What are you,a housewife? It's only dirt for godssake To be honest,I used to clean and polish mines too,but now I dont bother too much. The black engine I've got is a bugger to clean cos there's a lot of lime in the water here,it always looks manky. Even right after cleaning it. I had great plans to strip and repaint it over winter, but other things took all my time and now I'm past caring. Maybe next year.I'd rather be riding.

Oh,so you're picking on us one dimensional bike obsessives now are you? I'd retort with something witty and incisive, but being a one dimensional bike obsessive,I have the conversational abilities of a goldfish
