    Heads up!

Is that the thrum of the uberpanzer brigade over the horizon? Noticed a lot of 1150GS's about recently. Designer adventurers, whatever next?
  2. Hey,Pete where can we find out more on this flying tractor?
  3. Hmmm,so, the Sporty is 1200cc,obviously the V11 is1100cc. The V11 makes more power and torque from a smaller engine, yet the sporty is deemed more efficient simply because the jetting is so lean you couldnt light a candle with it. Rebuilt a couple of sporty motors,if memory serves me correctly efficiency was not a topic often noted by observers,or myself indeed. Agriculture, yes but efficiency......

    Bike cleaning

Mine lives outside and gets used in all weathers, so I wouldn't worry too much about the electrics, just give them a good skoosh of wd40 or similar every week or so and they're fine. It gets belted with a big soapy sponge and blown off with compressed air once every couple of weeks. Or so. Probably. Unless I'm busy.
  5. A Harley Sportster more efficient than the V11? I fear you jest,oh lord of Nog.
  6. Ferguzzi here in Ireland has a Tenni, dunno the number tho. You could pm him, but he's away on business a lot ( he's an internationally renowned stripper in demand a lot in Asia)
  7. I heartily agree, good Sir Nog. Although it's great to see a clean, beautifully kept bike, I kinda like the little marks and wear and tear on mine. I couldnt believe how clean BFG and Baldinis bikes were at the Erin rally. Christ, mine wasnt that good when i bought it out the shop.
  8. I'd rather have the Voxan than a Buell, personally
  9. Isnt that Bob Dylan?
  10. Is this a picture of your sink,JR?
  11. What model of Triumph was that?
  12. Not so much of a blast, more of a "meander aimlessly"
  13. Dyslexics rule ko!
  14. I'm intrigued by the Voxans, especially the cafe racer, but they're hard to find any ino on.
  15. Surely not,it's a Moto Guzzi after all
  16. Hope so, if only they'd use a more modern engine, I think they'd expand their customer base 10 fold. But they deserve credit for their efforts to offer an alternative to the mainstream. I like a lot of their ideas, just think the execution could be better
  17. I quite fancied one before I got the V11. Took one for a test ride and that was enough to convince me personally never to get one. Definately not convinced that quality is there compared to the Guzzi. BTW, It was a 2002 model with a dual seat, cant remember its name. I believe the bikes are getting better nowadays, but for me,there were too many issues for it to be considered as a viable alternative to the V11, which I admit I already had my heart set on.
  18. Single carb (he guessed, raking dusty image from cobweb strewn memory). It was 25 years ago, but I'm pretty sure it was a monobloc. Last saw the old girl embedded in the side of the local bread van as I took off down the street, clip clopping in my cowboy boots like a clydesdale horse on speed. 17 years old, no tax, ins, license, lost the front end on gravel and she ploughed straight into the van. The neighbours told me later that Jimmy the driver emerged from the back with a married lady he was knocking off, there was bread and cakes everywhere He beat a hasty retreat too,as the woman was the wife of a local heavy and I got a hiding off my mam cos the shop had no bread left.
  19. I had a 68 T90 350cc twin.
  20. If she sends to NSW, Windchill's in trouble unless he can swim like a salmon. He's in Wales as in Western Britain. Windchill, why feel isolated? You have one opinion, somebody else has another- so what? We all love our old warhorses, if we disagree on some issues, what difference does it make? The main thing, to me, is that we CAN have different opinions and still share our enthusiasm and experience with each other. It would be a bloody boring forum if we all agreed all the time. If you want a slagging, call yourself Enzo. (Where is Enzo, anyway? I miss his ramblings)
  21. Ach, c'mon now fella's, dont you think it's great that there are now motorcycle engineering workshops for the visually impaired?
  22. DeBenGuzzi!!? Where the hell have you been? The best sounding Guzzi of all time is,of course, mine. Coz it's mine. Mistrals,Stucchi, drilled airbox, K&N,PC111. The gurgle on overrun at 6000 and dropping sounds fantastic.
  23. Wasn't the 351 called the Twenty One cos 21 cu in is 350cc. It's unit construction, so it's not a 3TA,I think that designation stopped with pre-unit. The unit model I think was the T90 if 350cc or T100 if 500cc. So if it was reported as a 55 I'd guess it's a 500cc T100 Tiger. Model year- around 65-67(?) BTW, the later twin carb models (Daytona's) were faster than a Gold Star and raced effectively against the 750cc KR Harleys.
  24. Well put, Windchill. Like you say it's a case of differing perspectives. Keep yer chin up,it'll get sorted out. I dont necessarily disagree with you, but whilst MG may be part of a huge combine, I get the feeling that investment from Aprilia wasn't as great as has been touted, remember that Aprilia was haemorraging money into motogp at the time. I certainly dont see any great improvement in quality control from the Daytona/ Sport1100 days.Maybe I'm wrong. And they're Italian after all. You can excuse a lot for the way it looks and goes. Well, I can. Perfection? Pah! Gimme a few flaws any day. That said, if it looked like the Breva, I'd have driven my truck over it by now.
