  1. Well its slightly smaller than a dime. I did check the worm gear & it looks fine but I think you're onto what it probably is. I've had the shifting assy apart & cleaned up. Once I put it back together it all seemed to work fine. I replaced that speedo thing about two seasons ago & never gave it another thought until today. Of course now I still have to get the linkage adjusted back to where it will work smoothly, which is a major pita. Its hard to believe that thing could be in my gearbox for that long without any problems.
  2. I think the little pieces were probably part of the larger piece. I was thinking it looked like a circlip myself.
  3. I took the trans cover off because my bike wasnt shifting right. I thought it was the pawl spring but they all look good. I found this piece lying against the drain plug though & I cant figure what it is or where it came from. Any ideas out there?
  4. Well you could always buy a Griso 8valve! I think there just may be one in your neck o' the woods that has been "recently serviced". The current owner would probably make you a heck of a deal for it
  5. Wow this is the first time that I've heard of a Tenni flywheel going bad . I thought the problem was confined to the Scura model as I havent heard of any Rosso Mandello's or Tenni's flywheels exploding. I have some very good pics of an oem single plate flywheel that I can post here but they are more than the 200k limit to load. If anyone wants to see the pics have Jaap or someone get the pics from me to post here.
  6. I have #74, if you want the frame # I can provide that later. Are we only registering the "numbered" Rosso's? Because Guzzi made another 300 or so of them when they noticed that people actually liked & bought the first 300! Some of them have been lost to wrecks & I heard of one being burned up in a garage fire. It would be interesting to know how many are left.

Hello Pete, What Ben is telling you is that he actually owns both a v11 AND an Aprilia RSV. He isnt comparing how they are similar, just describing his riding experiences from each bike.
  8. Heres a better link http://www.guzzitech.com/store/HyperPro-Monoshocks.html That should be what you want
  9. I've done some looking & it seems that the shortest length I could find was 305mm. I dont know if that would fit or not tbh. If you're looking for a reputable person thats a Guzzi fanatic try Todd Eagan. His site is called Guzzitech I think. Anyway I bought a set of hyperpro springs for my forks from him & it was all good. I know they do the shocks as well. Heres a link http://www.guzzitech.com/
  10. Theres a lot of them on ebay. If you want the one specifically made for a v11 it will be more difficult to find. Get the dimensions of your shock from here then find one with the same dimensions on ebay. A good one goes for about $500 there.
  11. The large outer seal is very easy to do. Just take the wheel off & pry the old one out & press a new one in. The smaller inner seal will require a bearing puller to get at it. I just had this done to my drive & after watching how its done I would say..go get a puller & have a go at it. Try just replacing the easy one first though to see if that does it
  12. I have the whole guzzi oem replacement kit here. If you want some pics of the flywheel pm me.
  13. Heres mine
  14. Thats exactly the same place that my Rosso Mandellos pinion snapped. I however admit to trying a wheelie when it snapped. Lesson learned...no wheelies or burnouts with a shafty.
  15. That has happened to me before. It was the plastic screw where the face shield attaches to the helmet.

  17. Ahem you cant have a conversation about which v11 is the best looking without mentioning the Rosso Mandello I may have a biased opinion, but its still my pic.
  18. Since you have all the measurements you need for a shock, why dont you try looking in ebay? I was there recently looking at Ohlins rear shock & theres a whole lot of used ones there that would probably fit perfectly for a lot less money than a new shock. Its a buyer beware situation, but I've gotten a hell of a lot of good deals that way.
  19. I found a black textured spray paint at WalMart for like $6 I resprayed my rear drive with it & its pretty much a dead match for the original paint.

Hmm...maybe the Ducati ST2 had a nice luggage rack filled with bowling balls in it.
  21. I think it looks 100% better. The only problem is now the engine looks better than the transmission. If you put a coat over the trans I wonder if it would look like a match.
  22. I want to know the powder code paint code numbers so I can do my valve covers that color.
  23. If you need to bleed the clutch, take the shock remote reservoir off of its hanger. That will give you enough room to get your hand in from the side.
  24. The previous owner may have liked it that way & adjusted the lever to make it so. Theres an all thread in the lever that actuates the piston in the master cylinder. You can screw this in a little more to adjust where the lever actuates the clutch. there is also a retaining type of wire that is fastened to this allthread screw to keep it from moving. If somehow this retaining clip or wire got lost that will cause the screw to back out on its own.
  25. You know thats a good idea to check those screws... I have solved the problem & my bike shifts fine now, but I'm always on the lookout for a loose bolt.
