  1. Thats a beautiful bike Ben :!: I'd love to own one but it would probably cost me several speeding tickets & much higher insurance.
  2. Thats what you cant see in the photos! I asked the seller on ebay about the pipe size but never got a response. Does anyone here know the pipe diameter for the v11? I'd buy those pit ecks in a heartbeat if I knew the pipe size is the same.
  3. You're more than welcome Dan I had a similar issue with mine & that was the problem.
  4. Hang in there buddy! I'm sure that you'll be able to get another transmission. Keep an eye on ebay & the other guzzi sites.
  5. I just cant imagine that a regulary cleaned & oiled k&n filter would pass enough dirt to make a damn bit of difference. We are all changing our oil at regular intervals anyway...right?
  6. Post #221 & this thread is winding into a spelling bee :!: Would anyone care to try shoehorning a global warming comment or two here while we're at it? Hows my spellimg?
  7. The bad flywheel problem has only happened in the Scura model. Not one Rosso Mandello or Tenni has had the problem yet. There were roughly 600 or so Scuras made, about 20 catastrophic failures. Many Scura owners pre emptively replaced the flywheel/clutch assembly & found cracks starting to develop. If I had a Scura I would definitely buy a ram aftermarket flywheel/clutch assembly. I have a Rosso Mandello & am not worried in the slightest about my flywheel because its not quite the same thing as what Guzzi used for the Scura.
  8. Who was the fellow that recently blew the motor in his Rosso MAndello & rebuilt it himself? I seem to remember him being from England too. I wouldnt let him ride my bike but I'd probably let him work on it
  9. My garage was in a similar condition as yours. Funny I did just about the same thing you did to fix it. I jacked it up & poured concrete in the corners with rebar. I put the plywood on the exterior of my garage as the wood was beyond repair & vinyl sided it. No bohemian paint job for mine, just boring white vinyl.
  10. I tried the tridon ep37 & it didnt work
  11. Beautiful bike, Ohlins suspension, fear not! Lol If the price seems reasonable to you buy it. Relays are a couple bucks at the most. The '04's are a pretty well sorted out bike I think....at least I havent heard much bad in here about them.
  12. Have you made sure the angle drive is pointed in towards the transmission? Mine did the same thing until I turned it in toward the tranny. The speedo still bounces some but it works well enough. What happens is that angle drive thing comes loose from the cable drive end if theres any tension pulling the cable.
  13. I remember hearing of either Sotheby's, Christies, or both have been investigated for fraud or something close to that. When big money is involved you really really have to do your own homework & trust no one.
  14. Ben, Did the leaking o ring you replaced look bad to you? I was having a leak in my right fork where the o ring is at the top. I unscrewed the cap & had a look but it looks fine to me. I called my local dealer to get the new ones asap anyway. Since I screwed the cap back on I havent seen anymore leaks
  15. I just ordered a 2 prong unit from Tridon #ep37. This should just be a plug it in & use it part with no wiring required. I'll have it in on Monday, stay tuned for further updates. P.S. The price was $30 P.S.S. theres another unit from Wagner #7216 that should work as well but dont take my word for it yet!
  16. I have a leak coming from the top right fork The front tire was wearing unevenly & the bike handles poorly when I push it hard. I checked that o ring under the fork cap but it looks just fine to my untrained eyeballs. Can the o ring look good & still leak? Or is there something else in there thats causing the leak that I'm not aware of? Well it would have to be that o ring going bad in order for the oil to get out in the first place right? In any case I ordered a set of the Hyperpro springs from Todd@Guzzitech while I'm playing with this problem.
  17. Well Ratch tbh I figured that if Guzzi put all those pucks in there they did it for a reason. I'm not smarter than they are & if I were I'd build & sell my own bikes As for the reason I didnt drill holes in them? Well I dont have a drill press at home & I didnt want to take them to work & do it. Besides I had the grease right there & hey I wanted to go eat dinner, no time for playing around!
  18. So this relay replaces the aluminum 12b wagner unit...I can see that now. What does that wire connect to?
  19. Ok Dave you win this one! I took one of the old conventional signals & re attached it to the right rear & guess what!???? It works. What I have here is an led problem...which is odd because I've had led's in the front for over a year now & they work fine...or they did before I put led's in the rear. Whats this electronic flasher doodad, where does it go etc?
  20. Well I initially thought it was a burned out bulb because the rear right quit working. Then the idiot light started getting dim, then the idiot light went out & now I have no flashing signals. I replaced both rear signals with new led's & replaced that can type fuse Ratchet talked about. I still have hi beam lights & the horn.
  21. If you're interested in selling it let me know
  22. Well like any self respecting redneck bike loving Guzzi nut with nothing better to do on a Saturday night, I went to WalMart to get that fuse @ 10:30 pm Long story short, I have a new fuse in it but its still the same old problem
  23. Well come to think of it I dont remember hearing anything when I was trying the turn signals so hopefully its a dollar sized solution first thing in the morning. Its 10pm...I have no electricity in my garage & now I have to get dressed, go outside, plug that thing back in & feel for a click I guess I love a good mystery. Ok now I've done the deed...plugged it back in, cued the turn signals...no sound no feeling of any click with my finger on it after several tries & turning the bike on & off again. Things are pointing to a fast cheap & easy fix
  24. Well I couldnt wait until morning to check that can thing :!: As far as I can tell the turn signals of course dont light up at all with the can disconected. But to just look at the thing it looks ok to me, no burned edges around the plug or anything like that.
