  1. I've heard from my local dealer that its not unusual for an older Guzzi to have over 200k miles with no problems. I see no reason why the newer Guzzis cant get that kind of mileage. Once the bike has the gremlins from the factory worked out, its practically bulletproof
  2. I'd get a new test done on a dyno thats setup to do a guzzi. Sounds like you may have gotten a bad reading.
  3. An easy way to check pressure is to unscrew the oil fill cap while the engine is idling! If you have oil pressure you'll know it very quickly lol.
  4. Yes I have read somewhere in this forum that some motorcycles are designed to run at higher temperatures. What temp does the oil cooler line open? I think I remember it being 180, but I dont know whether that was Celcius or Fahrenheit. It seems as if your engine runs too cool you risk moisture & what comes with it. I'm also starting to remember something about higher temps reducing emissions? Anyone else remember hearing that one?
  5. Theres a Guzzi gathering this weekend in New Cumberland. I'm wondering if anyone on this forum will be attending.

    New Lemans

My manual calls for 20w50wt oil. I get as high as 47 mpg on the highway at legal speeds. More normal mpg is in the mid to upper 30's, depending on how fast you ride it. If its brand new it will be vibey through the bars for awhile until it gets broken in. Otherwise just enjoy it!
  7. Sorry to hear about your accident. Dont be too surprised that the guy claimed he didnt see you. I think thats the number one excuse drivers use when they hit a bike. If its his fault I'd get a lawyer & sue him for the physical & emotional distress this has caused you & especially your wife. You deserve to be compensated for your injuries due to his gross negligence.
  8. Hey Ben theres an oem rosso mandello gas tank on ebay right now if you want one. Btw its brand new.
  9. I seen a guy with a Suzuki front end on his Moto Guzzi. If your pretty mechnically inclined you can probably make it far better than it was new. It wouldnt surprise me if Ducati Monster forks would fit, but check it out.
  10. I have a pair of Oxtar boots for sale. They are size 43, in very good condition with a few scuffs around the heel & such. I bought them on Ebay & they're a bit small for me so I bought a different pair is all. If interested let me know, I need to get some pictures taken of them soon. I think retail new they were close to $200 or so. I will gladly accept much less than that, pm me with an offer or a question about the boots. I have listed the boots with pictures on Ebay with a buy it now price of $90 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...3ALCA%3AUS%3A11
  11. Ben its your $$$....If you want to go fast it doesnt cost a whole lot & its no'ones business anyway. You only live once, get a quickie ricebike. Trust me they are a blast to own & reliable as hell.
  12. Yes congratulations! You're in rare company
  13. This does not make me feel very comfortable with my clutch! I think Guzzi should maybe have a recall on all the single plate units. Its a shame that its such a big job to replace the clutch unit, or I'd do it myself. Is there any idea how many clutches have failed so far?
  14. Is it the one on Ebay? If so its not a "numbered" one. Also the one on Ebay appears to have the flaking engine paint. My Rosso Mandello has almost 11k miles on it & runs as well as new or better. Price ranges are probably $8000 tops for a very low mile very clean bike. I wouldnt pay more than $5500 for the one on Ebay right now. I think from watching Ebay auctions & CycleTrader the range on a v11 is between 5 & 8k depending on miles & condition. Whatever you do end up paying the Rosso is a good bike imo.
  15. Omg! that has to be the hottest bike/chick pic yet. I want them both!
  16. My bike is pretty much stock except for k&n pod filters. I usually get mileage thats in the upper thirties. Yesterday I went for a 100 mile trip & just rode the speed limit. I got back home, filled it up @ 124 miles with just 2.6 gallons of gas. According to my cheapo solar powered calculator thats about 47 mpg. YMMV of course.
  17. The thing is my sleeves looked cracked & weathered last year when I bought it. The bike only had 315 miles on it then, thats why I think the oem parts were of poor quality. The bike had just sat in an attached garage under a bike cover for four years. Maybe just sitting there ruined them?
  18. You just missed a nice one on Ebay! It sold for under $60. Keep an eye on Ebay at all times lol
  19. I decided to finally replace my rubber intake sleeves. The stock items were cracked & looked shot. I was thinking that my tb's needed balancing as my bike would have a mild cough or backfire at around 3000rpm occasionally. Also the bike was slightly hesitant to start. Long story short, I replaced the sleeves & those minor issues dissapeared. I guess there must have been a slight air leak in the sleeves after all. I got the sleeves at MG Cycle for about $32 or so. Fast delivery too btw I sure hope the new ones are a better quality rubber than the oem ones.
  20. You could send it to a body shop & have the engine cases sandblasted. Then have them paint the cases in any way that you like. Maybe have the cases match the tank color? That would be original & different.
  21. Some of us probably have a hard enough time just getting our wives/gf's to show us their tits! Having the discussion of how she could be the next internet tittie star on v11lemans.com may not be a goods idea lol
  22. You shouldnt have to pay more than $10 usd for an oil filter. Take the part # to your local Napa or similar AutoZone type part store. I know they sell filters for Moto Guzzi bikes at those stores.
  23. Well there doesnt seem to be any damage in the pictures you have posted. Did you have them tested at work yet? Is the new clutch setup a more quiet ride than the original unit? I'm always curious about this controversial clutch & how long it should last in normal use.
  24. If the Quat is a freer flowing exhaust the engine braking may be less because of less pressure?
