    Dammit

Omg this is so sad. These hurricanes have just been something I see on the news. Then you hear about someone that you know (at least peripherally) being affected. I sure hope he & his family are ok. I just have extremely cold weather to deal with here in Ohio, & thats only a few weeks a year. Its nice to know that Todd is helping out with a generator. You know I wonder if he owned a Honda would the dealer send him out a genny to help? lol Guzzi owners are a close knit family. Maybe we can set up a little relief fund here on the v11 board to help Tex out? I really enjoy reading his posts & he seems like a nice enough guy
  2. I have a BT 014 rear tire on my v11 & it handles nicely. I like it better than the stock bt 020. I dont know about long riding days though... I never do more than 100 miles in a day.
  3. He's been on here asking questions lately. The winner of the Nero that is. I forget what he wanted to know, it was either something about soft valves or if he was tall enough for a v11, something like that.
  4. Thats kinda what my house looked like when I bought it. A few new windows, some vinyl siding...lol good as new. With all the money you save not living in the finer part of town you get to afford more bikes!
  5. I got an email from them recently showing me their new rear footpegs. I replied that they were very nice, but what I really want is the brackets that they & the exhaust cannisters were attached to. I'm waiting for them to reply back. No hurry here on my part as riding season is almost over anyway. I may want to go with a set of high mount pipes which would require different brackets anyway. Its an odd thing with the language barrier on my part. I probably could find the darn things on their site if I just could read the Italian! lol
  6. :!: Very nice :!: Thats an 8 valve engine too isnt it? Maybe someday lol
  7. Haha maybe you can teach Pete how to pet the "hawk" as it blows across those plains @ 30mph when its -20 in February. Just thinking of that on a pretty evening like this makes me want to Oh well it'll get here eventually, damn natural gas bills going to be double high this winter too
  8. Yes really! To buy one without ever seeing it except in photos to boot! Not to mention no test ride either. Talk about brand loyalty I must admit I didnt ride mine before I bought it either, but I did take a real good look at it first I'm scared to ride a new one because I'll probably buy the damned thing. I hate to pay retail but motorcycles are an emotional purchase at the root of it anyway.
  9. Lol & I thought the U.S was turning into a pinko socialist/commie state! You guys in Denmark (or anywhere taxes are that high), are in need of a revolution! 180% tax on a bike? What is your income tax rate like? I could understand those kinds of taxes only if there are maybe no taxes in other areas of life. I suppose you get all kinds of for your tax money though lol. Ok I'll have to edit/censor myself here before I get carried away.

    paintwork

Theres some paint for the Rosso Mandello on ebay. There was a thread on this within the week. Try a search using Rosso Mandello paint.
  11. I hate to ask this but what the hell If you have the Rosso Corsa doesnt that have the new tank that doesnt have the chin guard? I have the older bike so I dont know if that part will even fit on a new tank. Anyone else care to comment? Have you picked yout bike up yet Orangeokie?
  12. Is there a fuel shortage in England? I hope it stays there lol
  13. I'm getting a bad feeling that if I test ride that Breva I may really want it too. I'm not a big fan of the way it looks but I got a feeling they made a good bike this time. Not that the others arent good, I think I mean to say well sorted or something like that. That Breva 750 is so smooth & comfy I'm scared to think how nice an 1100 will make it.
  14. Yes if you have a Rosso Mandello you have the single plate clutch. It was before Aprilia bought Guzzi though so I dont know who made the clutch. Dont worry about it, thats just how they sound. Mine sounded like that brand new & hasnt changed a bit. Its a great clutch as long as it doesnt explode
  15. Sounds like a perfectly normal single plate Guzzi clutch to me. Thats what noise mine makes more or less. What is your particular Lemans? If its a Scura Tenni or Rosso Mandello thats how they sound. Matter of fact I'm kinda sold on that sound now, its part of what makes it unique & Italian. You may well have a bad clutch...I cant hear whats going on but I wouldnt worry about it at all unless your having trouble getting the clutch to engage or something like that.
  16. I dont know what they look like up close, but they look good in the photos. As for the money...women have their jewelry, we have our bikes, & of course our women lol Theres no such thing as a good investment in your bike. Its all in how it makes you feel I guess.
  17. I still think I'd rather have the carbon fiber tail even though its more money. I suppose the fender eliminator with led turn signals would look pretty good with it. I'd like to have my bike customized by next riding season (pending finances). I just gotta get one of those bike of the month stickers too
  18. Rich Maund does those stripes on the seat. I dont know if its his work or not though.
  19. I agree about integrating the rear turn signals. Theres probably an aftermarket solution to that though. I'd really like a carbon rear cowl to go with that tail also, the red oem cowl would probably look good too though. Once I get the integrated rear turn signals I'm getting rid of the front ones.
  20. How did you buy it from them? Did you have to register on that website? If so how did you do it?
  21. I put on a set of NGK racing spark plug wires & that seems to reduce the pinging. Its a relatively cheap fix compared to some of the other suggestions. Try getting new spark plugs & making sure they are the proper gap. Other than that prepare to open your checkbook wide! lol
  22. You would think they want us to actually buy some of that bike bling! lol if I sent them an email I wonder if anyone over there speaks english?
  23. Theres a set of chrome rear footpeg brackets that I like on the Rosso Puro site but I dont know how to register as a member to log on. I cant even find them elsewhere in the catalog to get a price on them. Does anyone here that speaks english know how to register on that site?
  24. Does the tailsection come with a carbon rear seat cover? That would look great on a Rosso Mandello.
  25. I'd like to see them come out with a whole new engine design. When you think about it the current v twin is only the most recent design. Guzzi has been around 85 years & they have tried many different types of engines in the past. They could go with a modern 4 cylinder or liquid cooled anything they wanted. Brand loyalty goes a long way but a little variety wouldnt hurt either As long as they keep the Italian style in their design the bikes will sell. Everyone who wants the current engine design has that bike by now. its going to be hard to sell the same product over & over again.
