  1. I wonder what became of the MGS01 Serie? That 992cc 102hp 428lb bike that is harder to find than bigfoot! Too bad really I thought that bike looks great in the brochure. I dont care what anyone says, I think Guzzi needs some sort of sports bike in their lineup. It doesnt have to be competetive with the Jap bikes i.e. the Triumph 600 sportbike isnt quite as fast but its still a good bike...if you like Triumphs lol.
  2. I have pod filters for purely cosmetic reasons & I think they look great. I could care less about the insignificant gain or loss of power either way. I also took the side covers off to show off th WP shock with the k&n pods. That airbox imo is too large & covers up the underside of the tank/top of the engine. Btw I got a set of NGK racing plug wires & think they look pretty cool on the bike also. Seat of the pants riding the bike seems to run smoother but that could be my imagination. Spending $40 on 2 plug wires will make you Want to think theyre better in some way lmao
  3. I wonder how much those would cost? Theyre mounted inside the brackets...interesting. I think they were going for that underseat look.
  4. Not a rock star without a guitar! lol
  5. My is you gotta have a If you need to find someone to tell you not to buy a Guzzi you may be on the wrong site Most of the bikes are pretty trouble free, we usually only post about the problems here. Personally my Goose has been Honda type reliable after 7500 miles. Theyre easy to work on anyway if you do have a problem. Plus the cool factor is way high on the Nero's JMO of course.
  6. This is a good thread for me because I was wondering just the opposite. I was interested in lowering the gears for more power 0-100. Since I have 2 rear drive units I can swap them out depending on what type of riding I want to do. Unfortunately we v11 guys are rare birds so if we want something like that it appears as though we'll have to make it ourselves. Theres 2 gear shops here where I live, sooner or later I'm going to have the pinion gear made for the original rear drive that I broke. When I do I'm going to inquire about having a lower ratio pinion & gear made for the rear drive. The pinion should only cost about $80 but I dont know what the gear would be to have made yet. I will certainly update you guys on that when I do get around to having the work done. Does anyone have a really good idea for a superpower "wheelie" fun gear ratio for the v11?
  7. I just dont know why they wont make an updated eldorado cruiser style Goose for the crowd that loves 'em. Its not like cruisers are out of style here in the states. Of course I still think they need more displacement but thats just my
  8. If you have a nice set of valve cover guards for sale pm me.
  9. My pork chops could use a touch up too. Has anyone else had this problem? I'd send them out for powdercoating this winter but I hear theyre a major pain to reassemble correctly.
  10. What I would do if it were me & the insurance co. cut me a check. You'll have to buy your bike from them if they total it btw. Anyway...if you have the claim money & still have the bike, go on ebay & wait for the highest mileage lowest cost lemans you can find. Its going to be cheaper to buy a whole Lemans than to try & get that many parts. You may even find one for under 5k$
  11. Be careful! I just test rode a breva 750 for the hell of it. That thing was so smooth & comfortable I couldnt believe it. I told my dealer that if Guzzi makes the 1100 Breva that nice with the extra power its going to be damn hard to not buy one. I'd want the windshield for the first option though. If you test ride this Guzzi & dont buy it Pete, you've got some willpower Thats if its as good as I believe its going to be.

    Hi from Holland

Nice bike! I like the mirrors, are they Rizoma? Welcome to the v11 forum! POst away
  13. I think I have the compression & rebound about right where I like it. You're right though I dont weigh enough to really compress the front end much if at all. The rear looks like its tricky to adjust. I'll need to do some dissasembly to adjust the preload of the spring.
  14. Theres a Furia on ebay right now if you want one lol
  15. Is anyone here coming to the Steubenville rally this weekend? I should be there tomorrow afternoon sometime. I'll be on my Rosso Mandello, so I shouldnt be too hard to spot. If you see me there come on over & say hi

    Fork oil

I'm getting ready to change my fork oil soon & I bought a quart of Bel Ray 10w fork oil. I've been searching for opinions on what oil works best & what weight oil for what weight rider etc. I'm about 165lbs & I'm seeking an opinion (or two lol) on whether 10w is the right oil for me. Bel Ray is all I could find though.

    Jacket

I have a dainese th1 leather jacket that I really like a lot. I know Dainese is expensive but I hear its about the best you can get, plus you stay with the Italian theme...bike,gear,helmet. I use AGV for the helmet & leather pants. Until next year when I have a little extra $$$ for the Dainese pants anyway. Phoenix is too hot for leather 90+ percent of the time though. Dainese still has the good hot weather body armor if armor is what you need. I have the tights with the knee/shin/hip armor that you wear under your jeans which is nice plus its discreet. Like anything else your personal tastes & budget will dictate whats best for you.
  18. Please tell me what kind of agv helmet it is. I just bought a demon top & I wouldnt mind having another.
  19. I think this will cause more damage than any previous hurricane in the gulf. Theyre talking about New Orleans being under 20ft of water, they say the pumps will be overwhelmed & shut down. Massive wipeout of the electric grid too. Oh well as I'm in the business of making electric meters this is more work for me I guess. People have had ample warning to get out I guess.
  20. I'll be surprised if the insurance company doesnt total it out. Just trying to calculate what all the fairing, clip ons, exhaust etc... The bike is probably easily repairable, but it will be very near or more than the worth of the bike. Either way as long as your not badly hurt its cool. Theres always plenty of V11's for sale.
  21. I'm going to need a pair myself. This must be a common problem. I'd hate to put oem parts on my bike that are no better than the junk I'm replacing. Maybe a dealer is reading this thread & can post a link to the right replacement part.
  22. Good luck, I tried & tried to bleed my rear line to no success. I finally just took it to the shop & they did it for $10. It is a major pain in the if you dont have tyhe pressure system.
  23. Now I have to go pull the alternator cover off my Rosso Mandello I'm going to have the cover powder coated this fall anyway. That cover sure seems to catch all the pebbles & road grime. I have 7300 miles on mine now & its pretty nasty... Its lost most of the original paint. I can get it powder coated at work for free though. I can get any color I want too, as long as I want grey.
  24. I can imagine your frustration. I left the bike sit with the rear wheel on the ground. Or unjacked up lol it seems like it doesnt bind up that way. I dont jack it up until the axle clears the clutch side swingarm. Then turn, grease, then push it back thru and turn it some more to work the lube in. Its hard to believe the axle wont turn at all. I'd have someone sit on the bike while I used a 1/2" drive ratchet with about a 5" extension & then put a breaker bar on the end of the ratchet. That should break the c**%sucker loose!
  25. If you cant get the nut off, I used a very large monkey wrench to hold the nut. The other end I used a 1/2" drive very large ratchet to turn the hex side. If you still have your factory toolbag that came with the bike the hex tool is just a 3/4" long or so piece that fits in the hex side. Use a 15mm I think socket on that piece in the hex side. Again 1/2" drive at least & a very heavy long ratchet. Dont beat the nut, use leverage. If you dont have the factory tool that fits in the hex side you can get one at the hardware store. You'll have that nut off in 2 minutes.
