  1. Hmm I'll try pushing on the rubber thing & see if that forces the fluid thru to the caliper end. I have the bleed nipple open but nothings coming thru yet. I'll try Martin's advice later only because I'm lazy & I dont want to pull the wheel off lol
  2. Pull your alternator cover off & see if it doesnt say Ducati in there! Mine does
  3. This sounds too simple, but have you pulled the spark plugs & checked them? Those stock plug wires are crap too, make sure they havent broken at the plug end. Thats the best I know to do, I'll leave the more technical stuff to the experts.
  4. I replaced the rear brake line & everything is in place. Washers are where they are supposed to be. I cant get the pressure to build I disconnected the master cylinder end of the line to make sure the pump worked & I am getting pressure when I apply the brake. The fluid doesnt seem to want to travel from the reservoir thru to the line. I bought a speed bleeder from MG cycle but no luck with that yet. (I mean I got it & all but its no help)
  5. You're not the only one with this probem, I havent had this problem with my bike yet as I dont ride it in the rain. However my yearly maintenance will be to remove both wheels & regrease the axles & the driveshaft. Along with checking the valves etc. Hunker down Hogjockey....Dennis is Coming For You!!!! lol
  6. If you look in the manual it says something about the break in service being performed between a certain mile range. I forget what the range was but 1300 miles shouldnt hurt it at all. If its running well I wouldnt worry about it.
  7. You may want to pick it up on Saturday the 9th
  8. It sounds like you want to keep the V11 now? Did you resolve the poor mpg problem? If so what was the cause of the low mileage?
  9. I should be going this year. Probably on Saturday or Sunday. I live just down the road from the thing.
  10. Its probably right around there, maybe a little higher sometimes
  11. My battery light comes on dimly after startup at idle speed. I notice at night that it flickers occasionally at low rpms. Is this just a battery light, or could it mean something else? My battery is the original factory battery but the bike starts easily. When it was cold out this winter I needed to trickle charge it sometimes but never once since its warmed up. Is the light for other things like the charging system?
  12. I know mine seems to run better at night. Could just be me too Mine seems to be breaking in well despite all the abuse I've hurled at it lol.
  13. quote=Mike Stewart,Jul 4 2005, 09:15 PM] The sparkplug gap pays no attention to the valve specs. It has to do with compression ratio and how much the ignition coils can put out. Stick with the factory spec. of .028 (twentyeight thou.). Mike 55554[/snapback] That was something I thought about while I was checking my plugs. I wasnt sure if one had anything to do with the other. Thanx for the answer Mike
  14. Your bike looks great :!: Now take those reflectors off your front brakes, & it will look even better.
  15. I was wondering (since I'm no mechanic) Is there a relationship between what the plugs should be gapped at when the valves are set on the loose side or on the tight side, or whatever your preference. I havent been able to find a thread for what the actual plug gap should be yet. My Goose is running pretty good lately...I just like to fine tune it & generally screw around. I just turned over 5000 miles friday, from only 300 this February. Been getting good gas mileage too I suppose, 120 miles on 3.2 gallons of fuel, 37.5 mpg. Still need to get that fork oil changed too Btw what is the deal with those plug wires coming loose from the plug connector? I know I'm not the only one either It seems almost like thats how they make them. I just slide the wire back in the connector & it seems to run fine, but I dont trust it
  16. I mounted my K&N pods right on the tb's & havent looked back since. Dont worry its a v11, you may or may not gain power but it looks way cool IMO
  17. They do look good on their website. We have so little to choose from for our v11's I cant blame people for asking around. Its not going to get any easier now that the v11 model is being discontinued.
  18. Thanx Tx those are the least expensive.
  19. THose wires look really good. Pretty pricey at $50 each with shipping! Are they worth it? Anyone have an opinion?
  20. Great site! Thats what I'll get tyvm Does anyone know which wire it is? 100cm or 50? Removable or solid resistor? Pretty sure I need the 90 degree angle right lol
  21. Does anyone know of a good aftermarket spark plug wire? I was just curious about whats out there for a v11
  22. The shoelaces thing would scare me. Plus any road debris you may run into or over. Of course its up to you, just like wearing a helmet I guess.
  23. I'm glad to hear your ok Well theres another good v11 parts bike on the market soon. Sounds like I would have crapped my pants had I been leaned over through a turn & ran into a rockslide!
  24. I usually refill at 125 miles and its between 3.7 and 4.2 gallons per fill up. I'm not at all impressed with the mileage but its no worse than a car, and its a hell of a lot more fun :!: There are a lot of other bikes out there that get better mpg, but they dont have an eagle on the tank. Well maybe the baby breva gets good mileage. I heard it gets high 40's
  25. I was just wondering if many owners with pods have the vapor lock problem. I've never had it yet myself. If you rarely experience it then maybe the absence of the airbox may keep the area cooler... I'm just guessing though
