  1. I agree, if you need the bike for a daily commute...get a Honda. Although if your fairly handy with a wrench you dont need a garage to work on the Guzzi. If I had it to do over again I'd buy a Guzzi that already has 10000 miles on it from someone who knows guzzi's. By then all the bugs should be gone & it would be smooth sailing for a long long time. I cant complain about mine though, 2500 miles & nothing major yet. Just a blown fuse is about it.
  2. I'm starting to wonder if I should even take this job on myself lol
  3. That does it :!: I'm not touching that bike until I get some extra seals
  4. Thanks Ratchet, thats a good piece of advice! I'll have to call him up & ask if he has any seals in stock just in case...I'm not as good a wrench as Luigi
  5. Theres a rubber grommet covering the allen head to remove the spindle. Thats a relief, should be an easy job.
  6. When I change my fork oil lets say I need new seals . Is that a dealer item? I've noticed my throttle body...hose/seal/connector I dont know what you call it is cracked a little & dry rotted somewhat. The bike sat untouched until I bought it this february, so its possible the seals may be bad.
  7. I've been wanting to change my fork oil for a while now. My ? is in my owners manual theres a nut on one end of the wheel & a spindle on the other. My bike has no nut & spindle setup. I havent touched the thing yet so no harm done. Does the axle just slide out once all the screws & calipers are removed?
  8. Yes there are some threads for the clear tank protectors here somewhere...I'll take a look. Just use the search & type in tank bra or tank protector. There are several links to different websites to get that product
  9. Post the photo Tim :!: I have the tekno bag setup on my bike, but I may be willing to switch if its pretty enough
  10. I observed the 5000rpm limit my first 1000 miles. Then I changed the oil & let er rip. Oh yeah I adjusted the valves etc too. I'd say it pulls VERY hard up to somewhere in the 7000 range.
  11. Ohhh man...I think I just found out what my next bike is going to be!
  12. I stopped in at Speakers Cycles in Steubenville today & Jason fixed me right up He hooked the bike up to his computer, put it on the mercury stick, adjusted the tps, & a few other things lol. Anyway the bike runs great now :!: This should hopefully end this thread for me Now all I need is some better weather to ride in. Its good to have a good dealer within riding distance
  13. Welcome aboard Whart :!: Yes the bike will get better/smoother everytime you ride it. Just wait until you get the suspension set just to your liking You'll never be without a Guzzi again
  14. I like that tank pad. Do you remember what brand it is?
  15. I agree with you that no mirrors at all make the bike look much better. However I think the law requires them here in Ohio, or at least one mirror anyway. Still these mirrors hardly vibrate wich is a huge improvement. I wanted the circuit 851's but I got a great deal on these.
  16. Its just as good as gone Ben. Actually the thing is starting to come off on its own. I'll have to find a cool one to buy (any suggestions anyone?)
  17. Heres another angle
  18. Here it is!
  19. Hey we love new converts!
  20. I put the right hand mirror on today! I couldnt get that allen head screw out on the clamp so I took off the windscreen & brake fluid reservoir. If I had known it were so easy I'd have done it that way the first time. I'll post the photos soon. The new mirrors blend right in with the bikes lines...theyre invisible from the side view. From the front they look pretty cool though. Oh well I'll have pics maybe tomorrow.
  21. I got a pair of Rizoma's for my bike yesterday. They look really cool, but beware! The mirrors are so small that they may not even be safe I rounded the allen head on the right hand mirror clamp You have to take the clamp off the bike then put the mirror on the clamp, then reattach the clamp to the bike. As soon as I get the right side mirror on the bike I'll post some pics. Gawd forbid I cant get that allen screw out :!: I'd have to remove the windscreen & maybe the brake fluid reservoir to get that mirror on. Oh well the weather sucks here anyway so I'm carbound for a while.
  22. Looks a lot like my 01 to me toolbag looks a little different maybe
  23. Hmm I think I'd go with the place you like Al. If anyone would know who could do a good job you would. Plus shipping is a nominal cost.
  24. Those look pretty cool :!: I just got a pair of Rizoma "Invidias" on ebay for $130. I wanted the polished aluminum 851's but the Invidia's were "buy it now" at $130 & I couldnt pass it by. I'll post a photo of them on my bike when I get them, should be early this week.
  25. What kind of mirrors do you have there? Are those Rizoma's?
