  1. To all of those Pacific Northwesterners who are finally starting to thaw out and get in a couple of decent rides, there is the annual ltalian car/bike day at Lonsdale Quay in Vancouver BC on the 18th June. l went for the first time last year and enjoyed the bikes (lots'a Duc's) and the hords of Ferrari's and other assorted ltalian exotica! (fair amount of decent eye-candy as well, a certain sweet young thing in a Lamborgini Murcielago )......anyway, what we REALLY NEED there is a good turn out of Geese !! l mean really, someone has to keep those pesky little ducs in their place. l figure that there is at least a dozen V11's in the general area, and as a newish V11 owner myself could think of no better place to meet some of the other fine fellows with Guzzi's see you there !!!....( a nice ride along Hwy.# 3,the Hope-Princeton, or maybe to Winthrop in Washington after would be nice ).... Cheers Van
  2. Thanks !! lets just hope that the new owner knows what a lucky fella he is and keeps up with the great V11 LeMans form !! Cheers Van
  3. l'm with you on this one brother!! why sell a perfectly good bike (especially a Tenni ) just because the dealers not on your doorstep?? Cheers Van

    2006 US Moto GP

So l'm a happy boy, looks like l'll be going down to the US Moto GP on July 23 with the wife to watch Nicky, Vale and the boys!! how cool is that !!!! only problem is that the wife and l'll be traveling in a mini-van that we toss a foam mattress in and use as a camper. (yes l know that l should be doing the purist thing and traveling by Tenni but thats a whole 'nother story) anyway, l checked into camping at the race and all the sites that we can park our little van at are sold out......l pnoned the track and they said we could try the tent only sites, but that it would be up to security to decided on the day if we can park our unit in with the tents or not. l don't want to travel 2 days in a van to find that l cant set up to watch the races and be forced to search for last minute accomodation, which l believe is hard to find and very expensive. has anyone had experience with Moto GP tours ??....they handle the whole thing, accom. tickets. etc. or, any other suggestions ??? thanks all Cheers Van
  6. Get the relays from Dan, the service is worth the price of admission alone !! Cheers Van

    V11 Comparisons

l came to the Guzzi after a very happy assocciation with a mint 1982 R100S. The big difference is that almost intangible one of feel and character......the Guzzi V11 has that in loads!! Martin has given you the basic breakdown of the differences in bars etc. which is typical of the freindly help you can expect on this site....enjoy your experiance !! Cheers Van
  8. What?.......it's who l know thats why things are the way they are! l know that you only like black, don't like green, or silver, seem not to mind red, and now don't seem to care for blue.......you are complex my friend, at least you seem to have an attraction to , ....you haven't gone really overboard and joined the H.D. camp, or have you? and as for moderators, the only one that l've had any dealings with is our very own JAAP, who seems to be a fine fellow indeed, must be really to put up with half the rubbish found here, plus he makes cool t-shirts, why do you ask?? Cheers Van
  9. Hi'ya bad!! l'm totally with you on this one :stupid: looking forward to meeting you at the ltalian bike/car day in Vancouver on June 18th ............never meet such a large smurf before, but you ride a , you are politically incorrect, you seem to have an eye for crumpet,..........thought smurfs would only like blue chicks, but hey, what do l know? Cheers Van

    Tenni equipment

Hi cduzzi ! built a limited run (170) of these bikes to commemorate one of their premiere riders from their golden age of racing, Omobono Tenni. He was the first ltalian to win at lsle of Man, 1935 l think. The unique paint scheme is ment to replicate their paint schemes from the '50's and their famous 500cc V8 racers with the dustbin full fairings........... apart from that, it's a fairlly standard issue V11 leMans with a cool distinctive paint job and a few neat things that std, LeMans dont have..............best of all, l have one!!!! Cheers Van

Thanks !! and good luck with getting back to a V11 in the future cheers Van
  13. Hi Giovanni !! from the looks of your photo your plate is slightly off, not exactly straight......must be the way the factory did them 'cause mine is exactly the same !!!! Cheers Van
  14. bummer !! l'm afraid that down the line things like badging will become a real challenge for bikes like our Tenni's Cheers mate! Van
  15. Hi Rick, l'd think the best plan to replace a missing Tenni # plate would be to see if you could get a really good digital photo that could be used by a good engraving shop that has the right kind of technology to replicate it ??? l could try to get you a clear pic if you can wait till after the Easter hols. Cheers Van

    Tenni no.64 for sale!

Hi Swenhoschi !! Sorry to hear that you having to part with your " beloved fat lady" , , but am glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery! ,did you have a bike accident? Anyway, again sorry that you have to part with your baby, we will still try to keep track of her on our Tenni registry and hope that she finds a good and worthy new home!....someone who can appreciate the distinctive qualities of a V11 !! and all the best Cheers Van
  17. Thanks! That's an awesome video clip, love the music and the way it goes with the action! And Alonso from F1 wants to say that he's not impressed by Rossi and his talents behind the wheel of a Ferrari F1 car !!! Vale countered by offering a challenge to Alonso that they should do 3-way challenge, Moto-GP, F1, and World Rally Cars to see who's quickest. l think Alonso's ok, BUT, he'd need new shorts after a ride on a Moto GP bike!!! Cheers Van
  18. BFG and Frenchbob, Now really boys, there was no link to the Tennista's there at all, ( l of course checked it out pretty well) For your info BFG, the only lace you'll find on a Tenni is that beautiful line of feathered rubber on the outer edge of the tires (tyres, to you blokes) Save maybe that little black lace something or other that was found under the grab strap of a certain Tennista's suede seat............(the combination of V11 throbbing power and sound, and the very stylish, clasical lines and colour scheme of the Tenni's have that effect on the fair sex, don't ya know)! Cheers Van

  20. Hey'a Bad Really sorry to hear about your mishap.... (l'd cry/scream/rant/rave/kick the dog/beat the children..etc.) glad to see all the help coming in on the site Hope you get sorted soon, Cheers Van
  21. Hey BFG !! Oh fine ! For Easto, you give the full meal deal, what to use here, try that there, all helpfull and friendly and nice, and for me?............... some verbal bashing, and then just a "yes"..and then silence.................... sniff ...........l feel , so ............. oh well, l get to pick up my baby tomorrow and then the world will all be as it should be and all will be right Cheers Van
  22. Hi !! lt's great to hear about all us chilled northerners coming out of hibernation. l'll be picking up my bike from the guys at Valley after they've fitted a new set of tires and a tune/service etc. Great bunch of guys!! The Mistrals are great, l got mine from them last summer and what a great sound!!!.....love it!! (l see that Jim is trying to get you to do Wheelie's as well) Mark June 18th on your to-do list as thats the ltalian Car/bike day at Lonsdale quay in North Van....lotsa very tasty stuff there!! Cheers Van
  23. Ta. Cheers Van
  24. Hi'ya BFG !! So? what about your Metzler tires?? any good? One of the things that l really like about this forum is the fact that you can ask a simple question and you are always sure of a nice, friendly, and knowledgeable reply .....and yes, l got the black ones, they seemed to compliment the white on the fairing rather well ! ......so see BFG? we're not so different you and l after all, both ride V11 Guzzi's with "light weight" clutches, l figure your weather and road conditions would be much the same as ours....(both on an lsland, lots'a rain and drizzle, pretty cool year round )...on and on Cheers Van
  25. DITTO !! Cheers Van
