  1. Hey, would that make it a Prototype Scurra ???? Cheers Van
  2. Slightly off topic l know but...... you mentioned that you put your bike on a stand, what do you use??? l got a low cost stand from Canadian Tire (sort of like your pep-boys) and want to modify it, any thoughts?? Cheers Van
  3. Hi Steve! How's it go'in? Very interesting bit of news, though how will it affect us ?? l don't have any real experience with our two local dealers yet, but as l've heard nothing but good things about the guys out in Abbotsford from helicopterjim l would hate to hear that they would be taken out of the Guzzi loop...........It must be hard enough to make a business work if you are dealing with speciality, low volume, non-main line type bikes, as it is, never mind the factories dicking you around. Cheers Van
  4. Beautiful bike there CIV11 !!! The Coppa's are stunning !! Weather up here in B.C. is about the same Roll on the better riding weather!! Cheers Van
  5. Hi all !! A buddy of mine has a very nice 650 Lario, He enjoys taking it out on the twisties and giving the guys on the SV 650's the fits. though he does say that it's hard work, as its a very heavy steering bike ? His has a set of very open BUB pipes that sound trully good (you can hear him wail for a couple of miles) and the thing seems it seems to be pretty trouble free. best part is, ITS A Cheers Van

    Lost

BFG FOUND !!!!! Rumoures of BFG being totally lost proved to be unfounded when he was spotted on his way home after hearing that there was a sale on "pipes" for his Scurra Cheers Van

BFG !! For Gods sake man get a grip on yourself Lord knows we Tennista have tried to warn you, all that darkness has had a very bad effect on you!!! Now, do yourself and everyone else a favour. Get out there and fire up that beast of yours up, and if the weather is against a ride then at least the sounds and the smell of those overrich pipes should bring you back to your senses !! Yes, yes, we know that you have a Scurra, and all of the darkness that it brings with it, but dammit man, lt's still a V11 !!! Cheers Van ps.plus all those things that my fellow learned Guzzista's have said
  13. Hey'a DeBenGuzzi l detect more than a little "cabin fever" creeping in there, try shoveling your way out to the shed, and after CAREFULLY warming the place up for awhile, start your red frame up and let the sound carry you away...............then carefully shut it down and shovel back inside. The combo of sounds, and fumes should carry you over for a month or so... Cheers Van
  14. Ah Haa!! Gotcha! Nice try at the attempted cover up ........Where else but the Scurra Gang Hut would you find stuff on how to improve your cod piece with shoe stretchers and gym socks! See, now over on the Tenni side of the street we don't have issues like the Scurrista's have, with size challenged areas needing cod pieces for pete's sake, and the feeling of insecurity that must bring to those less fortunate souls who are still in the dark......(explains alot really)...... Bring on riding season!!!! Cheers Van
  15. Hi'ya BFG!! Where you been hiding? ....long time no harassment Well, you are partly right, although we are not balerina's we Tennista do know how to make our beautiful Tennis sing and dance, especially on a twisty bit of pavement !! All the best for and try getting out more often, all that blackness is not good for you !! Cheers Van
  16. A ha! thats what that was!! They sound like a great bunch of guys! Cheers Van
  17. Great!! look forward to meeting you and getting some tips on how to wheelie a v11!! Cheers Van have a great one!!
  18. Nice !!!!!! look forward to seeing the finished bike Cheers Van
  19. Hey'a Bad...howzit going? Christmas pageant??......Damn! you found out..it will be the same as every year with the musical intro being the "The hills are alive with the sound of V11's" followed up by the dance of Tennista's where we fight off the blackhearted 's and bring back to the world speaking of quite, whats up with the Scurista's ? are they all back in their caves this time of year?? Yep, it has been a bit quite over here on the Tenni side of the street, What with Christmas coming up, and the weather being so foul we can't ride much, so what else can we do but sit and stare at our beautiful bikes, polish them, service them, dream about future rides etc.... As you are a Vancouver rider, where do you get your bike worked on?? Helicopterjim gives lotsa for the guys out at Valley Yamaha/Guzzi, You?? Will you be going to the Bike show at the Trade-X end Jan?? if so, might see you there Cheers Van
  20. Ahh, Christmas and all the joy it brings!! (see previous posts) sigh!! From the Tenni side of the street, l simply wish all the V11 riders and fans out there all the very best over the holiday season, ,enjoy ,be merry, and for all of us stuck in the Northern hemisphere, today is the shortest day of the year which means that the is now going to start inching back towards Spring/Summer and the riding season !!!! All the very best Cheers Van

    Good reading

Greetings all !! Best complements of the Season After finding about v50man's unfortunate accident and his pending surgery and down time, l got to thinking about what's a guy to do when you really can't ride The best bike book l've read in a long while is a book by Ted Bishop, a Canadian English Professor who rides ( Duc. Monster) "RIDING WITH RILKE", "reflections on motorcycles and books", a very good read, well written. "MOTORCYCLE DIARY'S" l sort of enjoyed, not enough good stuff about the bike trip!! "HOG WILD" a story about the Harley thing, but written with so much enthusiasm that it's still a decent read Any other good bike type books/reads out there ?? Cheers Van

    UNDER THE KNIFE

Lousey luck !! Like everyone esle on this line l wish you a speedy recovery Good timing though in at least having the very good sense to crap out during the off season!!! Hope your nurses are Major drawback is the p-ss poor TV out there, if you can find it try to get a copy of "RIDING WITH RILKE", "reflections on motorcycles and books" by Ted Bishop. Ted's an english professor from Edmonton Canada in the Canadian West who is also a bike enthusiast (Duc. Monster) and has a very fine handle on the real sense and lure of riding a bike and the open road. Good Health!! Cheers Van

    Winter!!

Greetings fellow frozen Northerners!! like alot of you l want to ride when time/work permits, and the the Weather Gods are behaving. However l 've found that the road crews are now using a mix of salt and gravel on the secondary roads, and a liquid sodium cloride solution on the main roads........so, untill it improves,my baby stays warm, dry and safe inside, sigh. lf l do get a chance to get out, l'll take some pics, it can be kinda nice 'round these parts even during the winter. Cheers Van

    Accessories

Hi Ouiji Veck ! Your PEP Boys bike jack and the one l just bought from Canadian Tire (Crappy Tire to us locals) is probably pretty much the same, did you jack up your bike on the sump?? or do you have any sort of adaptor that fits under the "pork chops" and the front engine mount?? What l want is an easy to use, affordable lift that l can use to get the wheels off the ground for winter storage/servicing...what do the dealers use?? l've been looking at the jack rails and am trying to figure out if it's going to be viable to make a set of adaptors that would lift the bike by the pork chops and the front engine mounts. All help gladly received Cheers Van ps whats that beast you're on looks Veeeery interesting!
  25. Hi'ya Docc, thanks for the Tenni comments ,Sorry 'bout your bust leg .........that always seem to be the way that people get hurt on a dirt bike...after the real ride is over and you're on the way back to the house/pits etc.....the worst pranges my buddies ever took where like that. lf there is one good point to the crash, you where out enjoying the sport with your son. GOOD FOR YOU !! l haven't found any Tenni's in your area, a few in the West, Chigaco, the East Coast and Nevada. ps. l was down in your neck of the woods on the U.S. Thanksgiving, Atlanta GA, and in Montgomery AL. Mend quick and well !! Cheers Van
