"What's it worth" ...always a good question. I tried to put a value on my Tenni awhile ago and figured that the bike is worth at least $9,000.00 Cdn / $8,000.00 US It's one of those things, these bikes are more than just their sum of parts, that plus the "rare" value of them. Also if you look at comparable BMW's (I feel that they should be similar). One other thing to look at is the replacement value......if you went out there and tried to find something like this from the Oriental 4 you couldn't, (maybe an RC51) so you have to go European, and that leads you staight back to Guzzi! Cheers Van

HEY WELCOME !!!! So #124 is in Weat Virginia and my #125 is on Vancouver Island ! These Tenni's get around some. Stick with the bike and you'll find one of the most rewarding rides out there. Also lots'a fun when the guys gather at a coffee shop or what ever. The sound that a Guzzi makes puts those other V twins to shame and you just plain intimidate them. I have found that both the Harley and Ducati guys show the proper respect. Ride it, love it. Cheers, and again welcome to the form Van

Congrads with your purchase! The Grisso is one of the very few bikes out there that could entice me away from my V11 Tenni. The styling is just right, it is a very cool machine (hey that McGregor fellow rides one) and I even really like the look and sound of the stock pipe...... IMHO the V11 is the better (for me) bike, but the Grisso is a very cool ride. Cheers Van

Sorry to hear that you are selling your Tenni. If the sale goes through, please pass on the registry info to the new owner. Cheers, Van

My poor Tenni 125 has been sitting in storage in the garage for close to a year and I finally got 'round to fresh oil, charge the battery and fire it up......which it did without any bother at all... EXCEPT... I thought it was running very rich as the fumes where very strong... then I looked down and fuel was pouring from the main fuel line under the tank! Turns out the clamp was loose...very loose. I've never experienced a hose clamp backing off that badly. So, to all those other Tennista's out there and any other V11's ....Watch Out!! I don't know if that was as potentially dangerous as I thought, but the idea of raw gas streaming out and running down the tranny and onto the hot pipe is not one I'm comfortable with. Something I also noticed was my plugs where only hand tight? Seemed kinda iffy to me. So there we have it. Watch out for loose fuel lines!!! Cheers Van

So, is it just me or is she slightly out of alignment.... Still damn fine mind you, and I really like her choice of outfit, but she's not quite right, they kinda look like the are pointing in different directions. Cheers Van

Really sorry to hear that your Tenni is sick! That's just NOT right. As this is the first failed tenni clutch please keep us posted as to the cause/repair/time/cost involved. And chin up mate, you know that you'd be less than satisfied with a Honda........ Cheers Van

Never had a vibration problem with my Tenni, lucky I guess, maybe it's 'cause I use foam grips? They work well for me as they cusion the bars and offer a nice thick grip, which suit my hands. Cheers Van

Now THAT'S a BEAUTIFUL bike!! Cheers Van

Hi all, I'm looking for a pair of Valve covers for a V11 Le Mans. Must be in very good shape, colour not important but I'd prefer the red like a Corso. The after-market covers with the big"Guzzi" on them might work as well. Van

A Laverda!!! Oh my Gawd! Didn't know they could build something ugly enough to rival the Eastern bloc machines............ Cheers Van

Ok, so to me the body work looks German, like a Zundapp, DKW type thing. If not then how 'bout a Parrilla of some sort. (and because I'm really just guessing these all count for only one try ...right Cheers Van

motorcycling is good for your brain
Van replied to Van's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Actually, I did think about that myself. Over the years I've met some pretty "interesting" types who ride and I've seen some pretty stupid behavior by fellow motorcyclists........and yes, I have been guilty of lapses in judgement on the odd occasion myself. Makes you wonder just how bad some of us would be if we didn't ride....yikes!! Cheers Van -
And cheap at TWICE the price.... What price the exclusivity... the shear beauty.....the history......the story......the sound......the exhilaration...... ...... oh, God, now I've done it.......just thinking about firing up #125 and heading off down the highway,.... "that" .sound, the roar, the wind, the feel of the bike on the road.. ...it's all too much..... Say, $9,300.00.......that IS pretty steep, good return on investment though if the owner gets it! "BIKERS HAVE FITTER, FASTER BRAINS, SAYS TOP NEUROSCIENTISTS". I got this a few days ago from a buddy of mine. It comes out of the English "Motor Cycle News" of March 25th, 2009. Seems that biking gives you a top mental workout, and that motorcycling is good for your brain and your life! "Research shows that riding for just two months raises the riders pre-frontal area-the brains main processor area for memory, space recognition, decision making and reaction. Long-term riders enjoyed improved cognition, concentration, and happiness, preformed better at work and had lower incidences of stress, illness, and worry". In one test riders scored over 50% better than non-riders in a test requiring them to remember a set of numbers in reverse order. "These results make sense. The brain is like a muscle -if you use it, it grows; if you don't, it atrophies. Bikers brains have a lot of information to encode quickly. Their brains are like fit muscles". Also the need for subtle control points to the results: " Balancing and other sensitive control functions required for riding heighten brain activity". One researcher stated that, " it's a cocktal of emotion, stimulation and control that makes riding such a potent brain tonic: your brain benefits from any emotional input. Anything wrapped in a layer of fear, pleasure or excitement gets stored by the brain very accurately. Riding calls on half the brain-a huge amount for a single task- which makes it a very rich "food" for the brain". Bikers brains benifitted in these areas; Prefrontal Area: sieves relevant stimulus from junk and makes decisions -Higher functioning in bikers Motor Cortex: The "plan of Action" store Bikers have more of this Amygdala: The source of panic-reduced reactions where fear is involved Bikers resort to this less Visual Cortex: This brain area sees everything bikers have a hightened ability to perceive distance and relative motion Cerebellum: Vital for balance more powerful in bikers and sportspeople So there you have it fellow Guzzita, Not only is riding our motorcycles food for our souls, but it's also good for our brains! An old biker rolls into a small Nevada town in the middle of no where, and finds a bar at the edge of town. He parks his bike and walks into the bar. As he passes through the swinging doors he sees a sign hanging over the bar: COLD BEER: $4.00 HAMBURGER: $4.25 CHEESEBURGER: $4.50 CHICKEN SANDWICH: $5.00 HAND JOB: $50.00 Checking his wallet to make sure he's got the necessary payment, the ole' biker walks up to the bar and beckons the exceptionally attractive female bartender who is serving drinks to a couple of sun-wrinkled farmers. She glides over to the ole biker, "Yes?" she inquires with a wide, knowing smile, "may I help you?" The old biker clears his dry throat, swallows hard, and leans over the bar, "I was wondering young lady," he whispers, "are you the one who gives the hand jobs?" She looks into his eyes, smiles that knowing smile at him and purrs, "Why yes, handsome, I sure am". The old biker leans closer and whispers softly into her ear, "Well,......wash your hands real good, cause I want a cheesburger and a beer" Cheers Van

Hi and welcome!! Thats really cool as you have the Tenni built right after my #125!! They are great bikes and you should really enjoy yours Cheers Van

Right on!! Tenni's just have a certain " je ne sais quoi" that the others don't have, things like peeling engine paint are minor. In my eyes they add to the patina of these unique machines. I am biased, but Tenni's are special. They are strange in some aspects, as they can look "really good" at times, and then at other times. they are spectacular. Cheers Van

Giovanni, com est ta...I hope thats right we are in the middle of our winter, cold rain, lots of snow and now fog and ice......not riding weather. But the perfect time to polish the Tenni for the summer. I just finished watching "the long way down" and watched them go through the Guzzi factory.....FANTASTIC!! To think, our bikes came from there!....cool! .....one day I'd love to get to lake Como and check it all out. Cheers Van
