SMOKED A V-ROD THIS WEEKEND
Van replied to mason's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Hey, at least you remembered it l personally don't know how some of the guys can smoke them cigars, taste and smell like s@*t, but then again thats just me, l never did get it... l do love smoking Hawgs and cruisers in general, however, they are kinda easy, sorta sitting ducks, and no, l don't always bash the bikes from H.D. they are now very well made and finished, probably the best in the bike world. Just built for a different type of rider. Lots of great H.D. guys out there, but also alot of ....well, the type who gets picked on in forums like this! Cheers Van -
SMOKED A V-ROD THIS WEEKEND

Harleys and their riders, and their riders attitutes,......God bless them l've always enjoyed running up behind them, waiting patiently for them to concede, or even acknowledge the fact that a faster bike has come up and will pass, then after a bit, cruising past while they are running hard and breathless......fun thats the most fun, when they drcide that they own the road and are determined to stay in front, l've even had a group go four wide on a 4-lane road to stop me from getting by. Not being a total road idiot l waited until we got to the twisties and .....good bye! Not to say that all hawg riders are challenged or too full of themselves, but they are an easy target and always fun to fly by , -
Hi! on rough guesstimate l'll, leave Campbell River Fri, 20th Victoria Sat, 21st via Port Angeles ferry to Washington then either Olymic pen. coast road or Hood Canal to Rockway Beach Or. Rockway Beach, Sun, 22nd to Gold Beach Or. Hook up with you at that point or then abouts ??? Gold Beach, Mon, 23rd to ???? south to Malibu along coast via the Golden Gate Bridge Must see's on way ??? .........totaly open........ l guess a couple of Kodak moments like Big Sur, Golden Gate, you know, the usual spots so l can say "been there" kinda prefer some of the more unusual type things, don't eat fast foods on a trip, always at a Mom & Pop for food if l can, Motels are open, don't have to be too quaint, ...it's only a bed for the night, as long as its safe for me and the buzzy (the bike) and not too $$$$ ( l'm a cheap b@#%*!d) Camping is great for the rally, but l plan on moteling it on the trip down and on the return. Cheers Van

Hi Al, still early, (l'm trying to get my brother from Dallas Tx to come along and play on his M.V.Augusta 910 Brutale) but aprox the same, except l'd need an extra day maybe 2 to get off the Island and down to you in Oregon. What part of Oregon are you and what route do you plan on taking? Cheers Van
-
You bettcha!! l've always wanted to take a good bike around a track, l have absolutly no illusions 'bout being Ago but would really enjoy the feel of letting the bike have its head and not having to worry about the other idiots on the road, deer, or officer Bob Speed and his trusty radar gun. Cheers Van

RIGHT ON!! glad to see even the Tennista and the Scurista agree that this is the best site out there. Thanks Jaap Cheers van

So at this point going to Malibu from here (Vancouver Island) is little more than a spark of an idea, sort of a twingle. or an itch. IF, l can get enough time....somehow convince the war department that this is really something l HAVE to do, ......recover financially in time from our daughters wedding in April, and all the other related real world obsticals in the path of me just upping and going to play with a buch of like minded fellows..............ahh the joys of the real world, Anyway , who else is going from this part of the world?? could it be that 3 North West Coast Tenni's hook up and form a "flight" and strafe down the pacific coast highway to Malibu???? #125, Me in B.C. #116 Garstad in Oregon #119 Oregon Al in Oregon then there is always the chance is hooking up with; #115 Chevis in California #129 Jonny C in California #134 Peter in California #137 Homere in California not to forget, #133 Tony Tenni in Idaho #132 Francesco in Montana #128 Felix42o in Nevada could it be done??............ the stuff legends are made of. like l said, at this point l'm only dreaming, but hey, l got to start somewhere Cheers Van
-
Well ain't it nice to see that we all know what we are doing!! of course we know that the Tenni's are THE ONES !! you know, it just keeps on getting better, owing a V11, and it's a LeMans, and it's a TENNI.............

very good indeed l always wondered what happened to Ed Hertfelder...... This is one of those "truth in advertising" ads, like the South African ad for the Suzuki GSX 1000 RR where the guy says that the reason for sale was that when his wife said..."do what ever the f**k you want" apparantlly didn't mean what he thought it did....he he Cheers Van -
A West Coast Regional Tenni Squadron.........a squadron of Tenni's .....sounds good to me all l can do at this point in time is day dream about summer and riding again so any planing etc to help keep the winter blues away is great! Cheers Van
-
Hi Al ! l bought my tenni with the stock black seat, then aquired the suede one, (which looks cool but in our wet climate is a non-start) l then sent off the black seat Rich Maund and he re-did it in two tone, black on charcoal with the tri-color stripes on both sides....l'm very happy with the result! Cheers Van say, as we are in the "same" neck of the woods we should get together at some point for a ride or what-have-you
-
nice bikes Todd ! Cheers Van
-
Oh sh@#^*t, Jaap, why did you improve things! l was just ...sort of...gettting used to the old site, oh well, folks thats a pic of my wife and daughter, so here l go again, this time with a pic of tenni #125. Cheers Van
-
Hey, l think that the tribe has spoken, the Tenni looks just great as it is with that fantastic green sheen, if you need a little more drama stick the suede seat back on or add a couple of little details, give it a wash, park it in the sun and voila !! the most beautiful of all the V11's !!
-
l hate to admit it, but l'll never be a high miler on Tenni #125 as l'm a weekend/fair weather rider at best. l've only got 9500 miles on her so far, if l had placed a bet going into this l'd have bet on someone like Orson (lucky bugger has a Tenni, AND has got to ride all over Europe sending us great pics and tales of his trips that l can only dream about) or maybe Martin who rides his V11 in all weather and seasons ... Cheers Van

anybody know if the 1200 4 valve grisso will be at the Seattle bike show?? Cheers van
