WD 40, or other lubricands of the kind (anti-rust) can help untightening anything.

Let me guess these little round things with the red point in the middle at the bottom of your sig-.,are stump points? -
If you noticed i wasn't stated like that but : ''on some models' so there isn't some models , but only on the Scura happened. Aluminium isn't the best materiel that one can use on the Clutch BUT IS NOT THE MAIN MATERIAL that Guzzi is using on their clutches , as well So quite simply put , one can say as a piece of advice.:'' Don't buy a Scura with aluminium clutch if you want to be more confident about not having a clutch failure'' Further more other models with alum. clutch never had any failures but you can replace the clutch with a V11 Lemans one , if you want to have your mind at ease. There are cluches made of Ergal and some people have used them in their Guzzis , some have been broken (or exploded) and some not. IMO steel ones are better , but then again come to the steel quality (se below) And quality contronl in parts is another 'can of worms' perhaps. Definatelly I wouldn't expect Guzzi (or other companies) to be as strict and demanding as Breitling for instance (they make watches..heh). I agree with your previous infos about aluminium and it'S use. Titanium is a different metal, very light , antimagnetic, with an RC hardness around 35 has to be used only in certain areas where it's qualities are needed.. Steel though comes in many different qualities and hardnesses , and is a big art of how it is proscecced before anything is created. Simply put you can have a 440C or AUS8 and another 440C ,or AUS8 and be quite different in toughness, Pratt lay. co. uk has some bolts and parts made out of A2 steel, according to the qualities of this steel I presume it is one of the BEST that can use for such parts ,It is quite hard ,and tough, but has tollerances to bending and so on and quite stainless as well. Some of the best knives are made out of this as well.

How and where can I get a video uploaded?

I use Brembo pads medium compound, front and rear, once I have used ''Carbon lorain'' (at the rear) It also performed great. To my eyperience if the pad is 'whistling' and still has some 'bread' on it it happened if I didn't used them softly on braking (or ofr some reason it didn't attach to the rotors well) after the intalation for some kilometers-bakings.. Well that is a myth to some (that the pads have to be used softly) in order to get well ''baked'' but to me has to do with how well the pad will attach to the rotor. Gennerally harde compound pads can have a tedency to whistle (even if they are not in their end) I am very satisfied with the Brembo pads mdium compound, so I don't change them , there are many around , like the EBC, and the SBS, and the Carbon Lorain, I stick to the Brembos.

Dunno about it , though as far as I remember from a nice article in Motorcyclist or the Sprot Rider magazine, Freddie Spencer was teaching in his school the art of being a 'smooth' driver. A very informative and recomended book is Nick's Ienatch 'Sport Riding Techniques Being smooth on braking and throtle (especially in and out of corners) is the key on perfect street riding that's what I have understood and exercise.

So was it one , in one model , and not many in various models. You see, this seems just uninformed, nothing bad about it, none knows it all anyway. To make the long story short , people like to spread bad rummors about something, without really being a problem and that's wrong. Though Guzzi passes all motorcycles on the test bench before are sent to the shops, who can guess a couple of defective circumstances (like this.)... IMO, under Aprilia ownership, Guzzi had some of it's worst times (OK it was updated though, on some sectors) but there were a few little things that weren't taken care off, like the peeling off paint . And to those who don't know the factory was used sometimes times, to assemple Aprilias !!! And this: , is something I didn't provoke nor I tolerrate. I guess you're lucky you didn't pass up a Ducati test track, I have heared that some of their models have a tedency to catch up on fire !!!

And that is what I try to do for a quiz, find bikes that were 'special' (more or less) but they are forgotten. -
Look, one little piece of advice is to try which map of them fits better to your bike (temporarily IF you are really having a problem or if you're not satisfied from what you have) till you get your bike to tunne it After that if you are serious for optimising your bike performance , the best way to do it it with an AFR (Air/Fuel Ratio) system, where you have the abillity to measure (as exact as possible) what's coming out of your cylinders, and then you can say you did a correct map.If you are planning to do ( your maps tuned) only with the assist of a dynamometer it will be just a waste of time and money at the end.(compared to the AFR system) Here is a rearch result of previous topics in this site concerning the subject, there are many interesting infos inside. And then again there is the MYecu thing from Cliff as well. P.S: how comes the Icarus nick name for you?
-
Did you notice? UP to , do they write the conditions tested and the motor that was tested for the PS increase, I'm sure there is a % there but IMO it wouldn't excuse their price anyways. What's it made of? Is it for dragster or something, right?

I didn't want it to be a 'stumper' so I had to give some clues, it was an production motorcycle and in restored condition. One could learn somthing when searching for these oldies concerning motorcycle history , that didn't start in the fifties from far east. I have ome more 'jewels' to throw in for quiz, sometime latter (if you're all ready and like it) would throw in some. Now which clue helped most? -
Try at the power commander site , here or here

Yep happened on scuras, not a dozen, if I recall correct Paul has made an invest on the subject and there were 5or6 occassions that was a broken clutch out of 600 or so Scura models, not one in the Tennis or in Rosso Mandelos , so that's out of concideration in anyway. I know a clutch that broke of a DaytonaRS once, so what, sould we say Daytonas brake their clutches as well ? (cause very few of them were made) If one doesn't know exact the use(incl service) and the conditions of what happened, one can't really say.
-
That also never happened.Nor they did produce , or assemble 'hand grenade' clutches. And since you're rookie and as it seems uninformed about what is a Guzzi , not play smart guy the ones who do-

Guzzi never produced 'hand grenade' clutches.
