MGS has a bit more whp I think.Anyways that's not my subject here, but, if they want to play the competitive weight to power ratio right ,I believe they should find another analogy since the bikes race with drivers on them and not alone so the "finnal" weight better be with the driver. That would be interesting.

As long as twits like these are allowed to write bike artikles like that there will be a certain amount of people at least wasting the time reading them.
-
What kind of lube did you use for the cables? Which one(s) is anyone here suggesting for such job.?
-
Here is a "Photoshop" version,I did, with fairing set a bit at the back. Notice that the bike looks shorter ,and IMO better,i.e. more harmonic to the overall style

If you take a color sample to a computer color analyser they'll make a match for you, so close that most if not any naked eye won't be able to notice at all. And they can fit it to you in a spray can as well but that;s not the subject, spray cans don't work for such cases. To tell you the truth all colors fade away a bit ,regarding how more or less is it exposed to outdoor harshness, and therefore even if you have the factory color it'll never match the old one when painted side by side. A GOOD professional painter will match a color to a degree that's not noticed by a common eye under any conditions. Color is a tricky thing .i.e. paint a surface with a coat of paint ,let it be even, O.K.? then mask let's say the half of it and spray yet again another coat to the unmasked.Tear off the mask and you'll notice an at least 10% difference in color contrast between the 2 areas (paitend evenly with the same color) Did you know this??

Yep that's the way it goes , but spray cans are for painting small stuff mostly for hobies. The problem is that there is no control to the : a)air pressure b)Nossle thickness and or nossle control when material is bypassing through c)Control of material (paint) dencity. So you can pretty easily forget any kind of greatness when painting with a spraycan (compared of course with a quality airbrush and color)

Surface preperation is one of the most critical jobs in order the paint to stay on and look good. Painting such a part with a spray can equals to destroying a nice coat that has from the factory. If you're serious better get it to a specialist,he take care of it. Scratching of the varnish with 180 grit gradually to 320 clean and apply base coat paint check for surface smothness ,clean & apply paint (as many coats as it needs) when ready with result apply finnal clear coat a couple can be enough depending the hardness particles of the varnish material (bring them as smooth as it gets in between coatings) Recoat after 12-16 hours and it's ready can even apply more coats. That's for "double layer" acrylics.I have applied so many on my Sporti's tank that now the Guzzi logo sticker is even with the rest of the surface looks like a glass now , took me 4-5 days but was worth it.. For easier working there are the Createx colors (see Createx automotive) that to my experience are, perhaps, the easiest working , most vibrand, all surface, high quality colors(combined attributes) .Will have to work the mix to make the correct color since it mostly reffers to artists and there's not such wide variety of tones. Airbrush and experience is needed for the above to get a positive result, or else worse results will occure and as well as dissapointment. In other words you may not have to try all the above if you don't know.

Looks good, fits the lines of the Guzzi with a bit more futuristic look than the original.

Well that reminded me a joke originated from the country that priduces Mercedes and says : "What's the smalest piece of a Mercedes?" Hehe anyone knows the answer? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . "The drivers brain"
-
Yep!, with electrics it's not to do with how they look but with how they work so just trust only the proper instruments on that.

Well that's great to hear and of cource, when checking fuses people ,be sure to check with the Ohm meter to get 0 resistance and prove continuity. I just satrted from the most simple ,(having in mind that the fuses where checked-assuming correctly-and my teacher's advices) Anyways wrong connecting on the battery can fry the regulator , can fry the ECU chip inside,Yes both have happened in simmilar like mine bikes bikes (actually the first occ. was on mine before I bought it. ). or perhaps...whatever else more or less.
-
All these have happened to me in 3 occations a)Faulty sidestand switch b)Kill switch =off c)Try turn on bike with stand on I have heared that these v11's have also a switch for the cluch so you have to dissengade clutch always when starting. I think that's all I got. And I bet for the option a)

The truth is that Piaggio has made a deal with the Chinese to produce some bikes there.Dunno if one day we'll see a Chinese Guzzi , or if they already started practising with scura models,as warm up, for latter production.
-
If it's the same person we're talking about , yes it did run replicating also a V sound engine of the Ferrari , in minature volume.
-
I think I have heared of him , building a minature Ferrari engine from scratch.

Correct. Winning a race or a championship is a combination of many different factors ,starting from drivers talend and adding bike , team, developement funds ect.ect. I remember back in the late nineties when Biaggi was provoking Doohan to step out of the Honda and do it on another bike. Well nothing happened when Biaggi he went to Honda either It is also a matter of what bike fits to the racing style of such extreme riders. I.e. "King" Carl (Foggarty) when switched to Honda came at fourth place at the end of SBK while switching back to his Duck won one championship more. The opposite happened with Koczinski. Rossi has prooven a surprizing fact that regardless what the bike, more or less he won the championship.

Too much.Yes it'll cause leaks and blow seals. It's not healthy situation for the bike. Dunno what the quart equivelant to liter is. I use 2,6 Lt without filter change and 2,9+lit whaen also the oil filter is changed on my 1100 Sport i It's black, yes, that Gastrol was changed to the end of it's performing mark. I think it is semi- synthetic (or synthetic based oil and that's not the best you can use)Try full synthetic ,if you change it in 3000Mil. then it wouldn't be at the end of it's perormance abilities and the motor will stay much healthier in the long run. Personally I use a 15-50 Oil (ONLY full synthetic) and that viscosity is a good one for most tempratures the bike is going to be used. The 20-50 is suggested for big 2 cylinder bikes and very good at bit higher temps in summer as well) I noticed my bike was performing better with the 15-50 in colder temratures and didn't have any compromise in summer. That's about my experience in the 40+K km in my 1100 Sport i It's hard to get a full synth 15-50 and the two most reliable marks are Motul V300 Competition and the Rock Oil the latest is also used by good tunning "houses" in Europe such as Dynotec(that builds Guzzis with 140+HP) and the Daes Mototec who also have special art Guzzi tunning shop. So I said I'll give them a try ,oil is performing good , though I will switch back to the Motul sometime ,to further notice the difference. In some new Guzzis (i.e. Cafe Sport) an oil like 5-40 is suggested, then dunno what should be the better but always full synth race is a good choice. Agip is also a very good quality oil. P.S. When or if you switch between oil brands, oil filter change is also good to be done.

Is it perhaps so when using their own Valve kit (and or with some mods in the valve seats)???? And not the OEM Guzzi? AFAIK is OK to be a bit more than less.
-
Perhaps you should also check the tanks' "seats" underneath if they're OK or have started to get out of shape (perhaps slight bends and so on).
-
Aren't also tanks with different capacities , i.e. Cafe racer vs V11Lemans
-
I guess he wouldn't have difficulties to find any frame parts
-
Seems to me is more on his talent than just this
-
O.K. Thanks , now I can read your posts without gettinf dizzy
-
Perhaps it does , I never had this kind of problem in my Sport-i in the over 40K km I have it and driven in most any conditions.
-
Thanks Guzz , as it seems it's worth trying isn't it? I'm thinking to give it a try sometime
