Let's see what we got here: Pounding,Romp-Scoot,Snort,Rumble,Blat.... I learn new words every day ..... Can we say strut?, go out with the Guzzi Strut...?
-
I have alredy droped a notice about this thread in Motomecca.
-
The Daytona RS was produced in very smal numbers 113 in 1996 and 195 in 1997 Source :"The Moto Guzzi Story" book by Ian Faloon. Hallo big_J I checked site and didn't find any special project photos of the Daytona RS. And we're talking about that , and not the super Twin Right? Photos are needed for better identification when seen on internet, ebay or wherever.i.e. These triple clamps are special so if they're seen with an Ohlins fork, there you have it.Anything would help A good idea is to notify all possible web sites that sell spare moto guzzi parts, so they have their eyes open, here's one:Reboot Guzzi. There is also the Motomecca

We need pics ... They are important

I passed one time round the south east side of the lake LINDAU BERGENZ fubach but never camped on any side.It appears on my map that only the south side (Switzerland?)has some campings there.Alternheim,ARBON ,Egnach,(South-east)Kreutzlingen,(near KOSTANZ)South West side... Club Bodensee is an active local Guzzi club to further assist you on infos like these I believe
-
Or chop them both hands off and let them idle.
-
Ohh s**t. I can't believe this. What kind of an idiot would want to steal a so special bike that can't be sold Hey zeb can you post any pics to see what it looked like? I wish you find your bike ASAP.I'll keep my eyes open about it. Piece of info. All stolen bikes numbers when reportet to the police, that goes through Sengen system and are in data so they cannot be sold in any (at least Eu Country) Edit. As info the enginr number can be also helpfull hint.
-
Havn't been around Bodensee in camping to tell you more details, Though these guys here Guzzi Club Bodensee & here Bodensee Club infoI think they'd be the most appropriate to tell you all info you need, what exactly are you searching for specifically? I didn't quite understood your question .

Well put Steve, I agree on this view .For this last topic I'll just have to put my input and tell you that the car could gain advantage on that only if it was a 10mile straight or so. You see on the track straights even big ones do not allow any production supercar to gain over a top accelleration bike. i.e. A MV Augusta 1000 can accellerate 0-200km/h on about 8secs, (having already a gain of 1+sec to 0-100 over a car like that Lambo) there's no car that can do this.As well top gear roll ons or generally roll ons are in favor of the bike and are ussually astronomical figures. And top speed between these 2 are not so much different 309km/h for the Lambo and 301km/h for the 165whpMV Agusta. Some more stats about these 2 vehiles LAMBO /Gallardo MV AUGUSTA Acceleration 0-100km/h Lamb 4 MVAug 3.1 " " 0-140 km/h Lamb 6.4 MVAug 4.8 " " 0-200 km/h Lamb 13 MVAug 8 Roll ons 60-100 km/h Lamb 7,6 MVAug 3.4 100-140 Lamb 6.7 MVAug 3.3 140-180 Lamb 6.1 MVAug 3.1 All the lost seconds of getting into corners can be easily gained in acceleration from the bike. But it is needed a bigger, more open track to see this.
-
I have a test of the German Motorrad magazine 23/2004 (22-Oct-2004) with a MV Augusta 1000 Vs a Lamborgini Gallardo at the Nurburgring GP track. Measuring best times 2.13.55 For the Augusta and 2.23.45 For the Lambo. Well actually the same or about so it would be the difference if a 999s or R was inside this track.Depends on the driver too but that's supposed with professional sport drivers. For let's say a more official point. And something I forgot. In the above test from that quite objective magazine the Lambo was better on incorner speed at about 3 to 6% but failed on acceleration compared to tha bike. SO in a "tight" track (like the one on the video)it has some reason for the Lambo to get close to the Duke though if it was a 999R thigs would have been a couple of seconds or more advance for the Duck.(on a "tight track") P.S. After seeing the video I can say that the track wasn't too open for the Duck to show it's capabilities (Though it finnally won over the lambo) So in more open track i.e. like the Hockenheimring and or the 999R version that is the top of the line Duck, the distance would be more.... Btw I liked the Lambo's driver's watch...Old Navitimer...

Ooooops Athens in Greece I meant.. LOL
-
If it is with a Green kwak, I know this video (and the route)Lot's of people drive like this here in Athens it's so common, with maybe less wheelies, that's no news to me .Have done it countles times my self so far(no wheelies), what a show off,to make it on video.
-
That's nothing you must see GHOSTRIDER's movie and stuff. He's making wheelies on 330km/h (Guinnes record) with a Busa turbo of 500Ps,. And averaging street distanses of 80km or 100km to a speed of 250-275km/h (average speed please.) All on video for real. Well actually he was a real racer int the past but desided to put his a$$ on risk more probably for comerciall purposes. ($$$$) P.S.-Edit-"Testosterone and sheer bravery receive too much emphasis in the motorcycling world. No fear might work for bungee jumping, but not for riding a motorcycle on the street." Quote from Nick Ienatsch Book "Sport riding techniques."

..They don't tell you this in the add though...it ,...y'know will happen if driving is like this...They make adds for these days motorcycling isn't about that. I have fun and sometimes scratch in twisties if I like, But hey, they have turn this sport enjoyment that someone can have to a "Bike stunt" hero wannabe or gottabe thing, and that's not motorcycling. Yes and playing fast on the streets is only dangerous show off, if they were really fast they;d go to a track and win races , as i.e. Scott Russell did when we won the AMA ,he was a carpenter (AFAIK) Y;know??

..Hehe . And I thought that it was only me thinking this! Cheers mate I stick with Guzzi (for many other reasons as well) and I hope they came up with sth more competiive sometime (NOT extreme necessarlly) at the sporty section. P.S. Edit. Ooooops that was my 100th post , it's time to buy you some beers. Cheers Everyone..There's plenty for all ...I guess.

Cheers mate .Have fun with it

Paid 30Eur for a room for a night.Annamaria (the owner)spoke English and was very friendly .The place though it is on Mandelo it is way up hill...way up hill (2-3km from center) form the balcony you can get a view of whole town with the lake.Quite marvelous I would say.It is suggested if you have a vehile to get up there or if you like walking up hill..??!! You;ll have to book though and I don't know if and how many available rooms are there. An early morning view of lake Como and Mandelo from the balcony here

I know it will be out sometime, it may be out already since it is for sale Breva for sale (Perhaps as a pre order) But way or another I'm not in a worry,I got my Guzzi (and even If I buy an0ther it would be before '99 model-as of right now) Since they didn;t deliver the MGS for public as promised (at least till last September they claimed so when I was by the factory and asked them) So I am a little or a bit more p**ed off (Like some others as well may be).Because saving money on this I lost other opportunities (at least that).I think to buy a 999 and go outside the factory (of course with other p***ed 999 users)and make a nice burn out as a protest (LMAO) and p**$ them off as well(the Mediteranean way...) Appart all these though the Breva ist just another Dinosaur weight Guzzi with lots of interesting innovations though and "new" design, which is nice look IMPO. First of all, to tell you the truth the V11 looks more like Aprilia-ish design than anything else. Take a look at the tank (at least the tank) of an Aprilia , let's say the RS250 it's in the same "bulky"style. Second, It doesn't seem though that they intend to replace the V11 with the Breva, so none has to worry about it. Yea that's clear for a cruiser like the California for example better would be to have 100-150cc more(as a cruiser) But I can hardly imagine if it would fit the Guzzi style a 1400cc or more engine because then again Guzzi is not at the same image as a Harley with 1400cc and 60whp (plus 600lbs weight) And something else, you see here in Europe big cc are getting Big taxes and sometimes "fat"insurance fees as well.So it may seem to you strange but here in Europe (and Europe is a big motorcycle market)Big bore=big walet.

I agree to you jrt , MGs are fun to ride and so it should be(at least it is supposed so) and to me it isn't HP that matters most. It is the weight that counts most to make fun out of it. Now this is a230+Bike and if you add fuell and fluids easily gets around 250-260kg .Concerning that it is a touring bike with a couple of bags there kg will go even more. Personally I can't see any fun about it and especially if you are touring weight IS of importance. It's should be a mimimum 30-35kg lighter to start talking about fun (and forget the PS) Hey this is 2005 they should using some lighter materials in some parts to reduce weight, or ? The Daytona 1000 was built ten years ago and they had it in 203kg (that was OK) but some years later released the RS and made it even heavier, can't find some logic to that (since they could and had made a lighter bike they come back and make it heavier ) Even BMW latelly are producing lighter models (and I believe without having to sacrifice any stability)

Here it isMagnesium -Carbon-Wheels For anyone interested, they end soon but the price is low(1410Eur as I write this). Dunno if they fit but all custom building guys you'll know how to fit them in your project.(even if it is made for Ducati as it is stated there) It is an auction so iit may get higher. I do like this five star design better that any other.,way coool Though I can't convince my self that I need those (within 17hours that the auction ends)so I won't be bidding.

Photos are perhaps nice to see but they remain photos. If I don't see it hitting the stores I won't believe there is one.And until then they can make it as "primo piano" or "primo violino" or even as "prima balerina" they want. We had enough photos already from MGS1's and earlier V10s' motors and so on. Sure the Breva looks sweet, and sertainly there are some innovations including the shaft and the cockpit ,to name a few ,which make it interesting motorcycle , but with 233kg and 86CV for a 1100 (twin spark!!) at the other hand is way to far for to get the serious interest of the motorcycle market. That's my

Dunno, photos may sometimes be misleading, but IF it is the clearcoat(I still have my doupts but that doesn't matter anyway), then I correct. Your tank must have been sprayied from a person like this: Anyway my last advice for this situation would be to take it to a pro, this is a serious paint defect situation.
-
The best piece of advice I have for you if you buy this bike is...:
-
To me it doesn't look like a clear coat is peeling off, Instead it looks like your bike has been repainted with very bad (and wrong)preperations, from somekind of amature, over the factory colour and now this(second) layer of paint is peeling off and I am about sertain for this.. I can see that white primer under the second layer over the "old" paint and then peeling all together with the "second" layer, whoever did this repaint ,was a complete moron . I could bet on it if I was there to see it live , but for right now that's what I can say to you Take it to a REALY good pro to rework on it because this thing will peel off more and more. But this will be costy. P.S. In your case I would consider getting this ebay offerScura Tank-ebay(previously posted here) but then again who is sure that this is a good tank with a good paint on it,ect.ect. I don't know that's your decision

Well there was actually said from the start that a street leagal version would be out but for various reasons, that I can only suppose, there came only a Racing version. That street version was rated at a price of 15K so it would be more "touchable" to many people. I know for sure that many people were excited about the looks and the tests(or presentations) that were given in all magazines I have seen concerning the bike's handling were also positive. Therefore we can say that it could become a more popular motorcycle.(more or less) I think that not releasing a street version of the MGS at a more "human" price(as planed in the first place) MG has raised a few more chances of NOT becoming more popular and known brand among the motorcycle general public. That's really a pitty.
