I really don't kmow but that's the official price I have seen in MG dealers around Europe (mostly Germany) And I have often seen that in the U.States the bikes cost in price the price of Euros here but in USD (which is less money) I don't know where all these money go but If there was someone selling me a NEW unused right of the box MGS1 for $25K (roughly 19K eur.) I would seriously consider it., and if I didn't have my Sport Corsa I would buy it (bargaining a little cause I 'd pay cash) Right now though to tell you the truth,I am very happy on my Sport corsa it has everything I would imagine or demand from a bike aesthetically wise ,riding wise, image wise or whatever wise, and every time I look at "her" is like the "first" time so what else should I ask?
-
Thanks for the info. Well that's a 4valve engine sound, yea different than a 2v, sounds a bit like a duke, though richer.
-
No , I ain't going to buy it, I don't live in the States. And for a second reason, though the price is reasonable (33K-usd=relatively the price in Euros 25K thats about cost here in Europe new). Yes he may as well don't have it but I mostly look for a bargain, not paying as much as new.
-
No problem, I have just found out how much does he wants for the auction to end it,Well the price seems reasonable to me (if you're in the States)

Have you changed the shaft of the back shock to a bigger length or just the whole shock is changed to a bigger length one.? 103db, how does this sounds? Before you change them record something and put it up somewhere for download.

As I understood oyu have amde your own "system" for the power supply when in bike.O.K.This is a good solution for having the PDA working all the time. I guess my next step it to try it for my on and see what happens. There is nothing more to ask at this point now, you have covvered most if not all of my questioning. I plan and hope to be ablr to travel to Europe this summer. I want to combine this with track driving lessons that are organized from Moto Guzzi GermanyMoto Guzzi -Aprilia Training2005 But also meet some other friends that I have there and I also plan a castle tour I Germany, after that If I can go more I may as well give you a call. . Of course better would be for you to come somewhere down and meet in the middle.. I calculate here... ....= too many kilometers... England has many of those castles, Scottland too(I guess) I have heared of great scenery up there. Cheers

This looks better , now we're talking.Don't tell me that you 've already finished painting the tank. ?(O.K..I guess this is the other side) All the best further enjoyment with your bike Paul P.S> If I guess right and this is a Dayto. frame? How did you compentsate the height loss (of the back side of bike) when using a lower profile back tyre Paul?

That's just about 1700km from Venice. I would love to get there, it really is far away and at that time is not really on my schedule, though the meeting programm sound just great and I always wanted to visit Danemark. I don't know, I really don't
-
I concider going because appart from the 26hour ship travel, it is all together about 500km from my home, but at the other hand, I think most places would be booked in the whole area long before.I am also abit of a "private" person and usually I don't like too much fuzz and too many people going on. I plan though to pass again from there and say hallo to everybody at Agostini's , lovelly people there

Saying only thank you it won't be enough, well I have gathered some info from PDA forums and asking ebay sellers about stuff, but nothing is better that a fellow motorcycle user's opinion. Here in Greece needles to say that it is NOT possible to test any of the PDAs or systems like GPS , the people who sell them also know very little about the capabilities or + & - of each of these kind of devices, there are few and mostly just sitting on the shelf waiting to be bought by someone ,but I 'm not that kind of someone.. You saved me $$$ about the SD card and I did suspect that the programs should be on the card, but I didn't know about the systems reliability and also the power consumption.I guess the BT (blue tooth) has less power consumption than that and is also very reliable in it's function. The only question is about BT how does someone charge it? Has it's own charger in the packet.--Yes I understood than when in the car is connected and takes power from the cigarette lighter of the car with cable. But is there any additional "normal" charger for it (and generally except the software packet-it there isn't there-may as well be an aftermarket. As far as "car lighter" type of jacks (so that chargers and other stuff fit in), I think I have seen somewhere on the net long before also a pattent(system) that you could fit and have a jack like that in a bike But I don't know where. I have no clue till now how things (concerning this Power of the BT) are in the motorcycle. I guess it is self powered but somehow you have to charge it. I have also found several ebay offerings of complete packets and I get soon responce to my questions of the sellers. This one is also interesting Siemens Pocket Loox 410 So concluding: If using a PDA without an intergrated antenna, BT GPS is the way to go, as far as antenna goes.A workstation like this gives better flexibility in having possible defect parts changed (i.e. like battery or antenna)BT is wireless and that is also an option on having it placed in the best suitable position. Readability is good and can be placed in the tank (or holder ect.ect.)I have imagined so would be a safe and sound way for the PDA also. The only question should be about the power (and or charging of the BT system) and btw. how much time can it be used before recharging?? Thanks again P.S. I have a friend that has studied and got a master as a Dentist in Leeds (some years ago) Yes he is my dentist.A Venice to Leeds route is about 1100miles I'l may have to try this sometime. Cheers

What does this mean ?(In simplfied English pls)

I think he don't get his lesson,How much should I bid.The reserve could be again up to a high price and he wants to pay some money more to ebay. Reserve costs (either it is sold or not) as well as the previous time had reserve+Strat price (that's double ebay fees) I guess I'll have to drop this seller a mail and tell him how much does he want....hmmm P.S. (edit) Wait it says finansing there available they will discount the first $10 in your first buy. It may as well be a bargain at the end..

I have seen a Silver GB last year in Germ. ebay appearing there,a couple of times, for about 12K Euro but none got it.(New in Condition -no miles) Sometimes offers appear.
-
Yep here I found something, here is what I had in mind GPS antena+SD card But it is too pricey
-
Price sounds like a bargain to me. If I was in the US I would buy the GB , and the GB is a good one for this price even as sold sepperate. But getting this over here in Europe will cost as much if not more than a new GB..damn!.....
-
Wow ,That's something like the project I want to do for myself. Coool tasty Will further examine this one. How did you find it?
-
I had a system reboot here and I'm back, Well I would like to suggest you to whatever you do get the best materials there is. Here is a good example: -PPG- After that you'll have to find a good pro to do the job.If you have no personal experience, enviroment and equipment leave it to the pros.Find someone that you have already seen his work and fits your quality of result. I have made myself some coating on my Guzzi tank but even if I use airbrushes for the last 9+years it allways take much attention to get the desired effect. And to me that had to be a perfect glass looking coat. All companies do not accomplish that, you see if you go close ,very close to any paint job of any car you'll see the surface making some kind of very little waves...that's OK but it wasn't for me the case. I could (can) analyse you how-why this is that way but it would be out of topic. Back to the topic, well I'll post you a couple of links so that you EXACTLY locate your problem and estimate yourself the extent of it. LOCATE Paint Defect Is a "Special link from PPG with all paint problems (Bar selector) that will rovide you with accurate description and tratment. This is for paint blistering Paint Blister At first I thought you had something like this Paint Pickling You see English isn't my main language and also there are different ways on explaining a problem.(It may as well be sth else than what you named as blistering) That's a reason pics are always important. Here's what the page suggest for blistering " Rectification Establish the depth and cause of the blister by pricking out with a pin and examining under a low power magnifying glass. Where the blisters occur between paint layers, the affected area may be sanded down to a sound surface and repainted. In more severe cases, or where the blisters occur between the undercoat and the substrate, strip down to the substrate and repaint. " If your case is not so severe after sanding down to a sound surface (don't do it yourself),without the all of the paint being removed, it is very possible if done carfully that you may not need any additional painting work for the tank at all(because you have a matt finish). And that's the good news. The bad news could be, to have a more severe paint defect and paint the whole thing. Keep us posted
-
Tell me something else, is this Scura paint just a matt look finish , whithout any glossy clear coat over it?(tank and other bike paint) ED. The tank is plastic??
-
Yes that's also verry correct txrider, I just coudn't imagine a factory paint to have poor preperation (on some short of).I have messed around doing paint jobs in tanks and helmets for a while as an artist, though I wouldn't say I am an expert on this subject. Vehile companies do apply less (thinner)protective coats on their paints and though after and of the nineties the coat companies increased the persentages of the solids in their coats(that may lead to not needing any morethick coating),truth is still that the coats are not really "enough" they are too thin (for me)for the right protection. One little(in depth) scratch can easily hit the paint as well I have therefore added a few more clearcoats at my Sport's tank last year hhmm...err As many as to make the sign of MG with the eagle at the point of not looking embosed any more (surface level samenow)

O.K thanks again for all the info,I have just heared from others that one can add routes from PC to PDA and others that say the opposite.Be as it mayin most cases though when on the bike I mostly add new waypoints right on the spot. Right now I am on the www.totalpda.co.uk and look some stuff, I don't know how is, this aerial that you told me about, called to find it. This one looks nice, powerfull and in nice price DELL Axim X3 -400mhz What do you think will it be able to do the navigation thing whith an added GPS aerial ?(will ask them too) Thanks P.S. I have a buddy that lives in Brighton I may as well visit him sometime, thinking of Isle of man visit too, but not really planed for this year.
-
The only think I can say of right now is that somehow somewhere sometime There was some quantity of strong paint thiner medium (or paint remover :!: -or Batery fluid :!: )on your bike at this spot.(Factory)Paint just doesn't crack without a reason , If your tank was a repaint than I could surelly tell you that the first coats where too badly done, and or that there was a raipaint over the original with incompatible materials and false preperation, i.e. Laquer over urethane=alligator skin. Though as you say you don't have this situation right now and to tell you the truth it sounds like (though I'd have to see first)a severe paint damage. It may as well need the whole tank to be repainted.

Wooh I have missed this. Somewhere in a shop I have seen something like an old Ericsson type mobile phone antenna that can be pluged to the PDA and is a GPS antenna. Can you please post a pic. of your to see what it looks like. A further question about it would be.Since this thing is installed does it need any charging at all, or extra charging, or ist it simply being charged when that PDA is on the charger.???? And at least and I hope last would be:Is there the possibility to calculate routes to your PC and them sync them to the PDA?? Thanks ALEX
-
Wellcome to this forum , I am as well a "newbe" of some short, so far I do enjoy the "company" here, hope you will too
-
Can you post a pic here to see it. From when did this "phenomenon" start? Is it partially over the days? Is it ORIGINAL MG paint there????
