  1. I wouldnt get to worked up about the weather forecast , the last few days here in aberdeen it is meant to have rained and apart from a few showers yesterday it has been really nice, just back from walking the dog and it is really warm, as Guy says in a earlier post just make sure you cover all contingencies (ie winter gloves). for what its worth i am not even taking waterproofs , hopefully bike back together tomorrow. Gary Oh and after looking at Helens bike, i better clean it as well .
  2. Thanks for the input Ratchet, the in and out bit i am on about is, if you have a diagram is no.5 and 32 in the rear trans diagram D3 thanks again Gary
  3. Well, i have had another look and on closer inspection on the needle roller bearing there are a few flatspots so i have pulled the bearing only trouble is i have now definetly f%^&$d it . I have checked the washer and my one is meant to sit in a recess on the bevel drive . The I.D.of the washer is the same as the ouside of the inner ringwhich seems right as it would cover the bearing nicely. What I must have done is when putting the wheel on before the washer has fell off the inner ring rested on the axle and when i have tightened up the wheel it has ground down the bottom of the box , will order a new bearing and washer tomorrow or check local for a bearing hope its ok for friday. Also is there meant to be movement on the washer and spacer i can move them in and out ways a couple of mms, i dont think it matters but does anyone know. Hope this makes sense, im off for a beer or 2 Gary
  4. I took my rear wheel off today as i thought i could here a whine from the rear (mg paranoia) . I need new tyres anyway and am putting on Z6,s. Anyway the bearings on the wheel seem fine also the needle roller one on the bevel box and the inner one also fine, cant feel any play so am now happy, but i did notice the thin washer between the swing arm and the bevel box had worn away some of the outer alloy on the box, are you meant to make sure that the washer sits on the inner race before tightening up the axle and will it make any difference , also tried to grease THAT nipple on the shaft but gave up. Gary
  5. Not that i know off Jim, i think the 1200 has the same engine as the griso or the norge Gary
  6. My local dealer " shirlaws " in Aberdeen has just become a MG dealer, went down to see the 3 bikes they have (with more on the way) well the 1200 sport had already gone, the griso has a sold sticker on it so that just leaves a breva 1100, where will it all end, might have to buy a onda to be different. Tenni no.17

Was up at Ullapool for a camping weekend with the scottish branch and a guy turned up on a imacculate tenni, first one i have seen and i was suitably impressed, told him about this place, and he is going to be checking the site out, so you have a new tenni fan joining shortly. Gary
  8. I just got back from a mg camping weekend at ullapool, friday and saturday weather was excellent, and the roads were empty also pothole free passed the aultguish on the way back should have popped in for a drink. Gary
  9. Yes, you should just clean the shaft with some rags, you only need to put 1 or 2 shots of grease into the 3 nipples or you can blow the seals on the uj joints, Isnt this job something like a 2 yearly or 12000 mile routine ( dont have the manual handy) Gary
  10. In my defence, the wife bought it and when theres nothing else in the house with alchohol content (i ate all the liquer chocs) well needs must. Gary

  12. I have been a man utd fan since fergie took over (ex Aberdeen manager). Also one time i opened a bottle of budwieser (2003) and won a comp to see them play a tournament in america (new york and philidelphia, against juventus and barcelona ) all expenses paid (thanks bud, king of beers). Mind you as Guy said i would just watch them on the telly and keep the money for the bike Gary

    Am I Wrong?

When myself and the rest of the clan went to orlando last year we asked for gps in our hire van and it was a godsend in a foriegn country especially when our son cracked a bone in his arm using his just bought heelys no problem finding hospital, doctors or universal studios . since then my wife bought me a tt rider, fitted it to the bike but if you know where you are going its just a big distraction, i have nearly ran into a couple of cars looking at the bloody screen on the way home now its just switched on when i need it. gary
  19. Well, it hasnt rained here for days apart from a small shower yesterday and a mini downpour the day before (but they dont count) perfect biking weather actually, but the kids are on easter hols from school so i am not getting out to play . i couldnt go out on the bike anyway as i have the biggest hangover ive ever had (and i have had a few). any ways have to go and light the barbie and have a dog of the hare.
