  1. I also have the rossopuro rod, have just changed the rose joints on them as i was getting some wear/play on them. SP388 you can adjust the length by screwing in/ out the rose joints.
  2. No, never seen again. He is now riding a bellagio. He has quite a few spare parts for the V11, including a rosso corsa fairing i think,Will ask him to list them (if he wants to sell them).
  3. Ha! But now summer's over... he didn't mention the tartan umbrella welded to the yolks! Need more than a tartan umbrella last night and today, a storm came through and the whole area is flooded, stay clear of the 2014 vintage it will be diluted
  4. Out on the bike yesterday and this thread came to mind. Went up to tomintoul, dufftown, grantown on spey along to keith passing quite a few of the distilleries on the way. Every carpark is full of coaches, cars and bikes doing the distillery tours. I have done this route a hundred times and never stopped or even bought a bottle. Might have to give it a try and see what all the fuss is about.
  5. I would just bolt them on and enjoy.
  6. V11 Cafe sport 1990 Honda vfr750 fl 2014 Honda vfr800f (collected it yesterday)
  7. I went through a few speedo cables a while back, every few hundred miles they would fail. When i went to the v twin a few years back (1200 miles) i thought i would do a bit of pre emptive maintenance and change out the speedo cable for a new one so i would have a working speedo for the entire trip, it failed halfway down the road. When i got home i refitted the old cable and hey ho its worked ever since. So the secret is !!!!
  8. Thats a fair selection of tools you took with you.
  9. Mine is exactly the same as the nero corsa and i have a pc545 oddysey battery fitted. They are all the same (i think)
  10. My cafe sport is like yours as well, they are all like that!! Well except kiwijens
  11. Yes that boomerang shaped plate on top of your gear selectors, seems to be a mod done on the later bikes.
  12. I done this job a few years back and dont think i could get the screw to move either. Is there not a nut on the opposite end of the screw!! I slackened the nut just enough for the plate to raise and get clearance over the shafts then turned it 180 degrees after that and then tightened the nut again( there was not a lot of thread to start with) then there is plenty of room to work on the selectors etc.
  13. Speaking to a V11 owner yesterday, he was asking about my bike in sixth gear as his whines very loudly. He is thinking about taking his gearbox apart but if he reads this thread it may put his mind at rest ( or not)
  14. When i first got mine, it rattled loose after every run. All I did was slacken the headers bolts, tighten up one side and then push the pipe at the other side onto the exhaust pipe so it all looks even, tighten everything up and voila. I probably got lucky as it has never moved since.
  15. There is a V11 rack for sale on ebay uk right now, £49.
  16. Beautiful looks just like mine, except cleaner .
  17. I have a tiger 800, nice bike, fantastic manners in town, a hoot to ride but the sound track is yuk. Taking a test ride on a multistrada next weekend ( ducati roadshow up in tyndrum) then road testing the tex explorer. One of these 2 will be my next bike. I would keep the tiger if it sounded more like the V11' but that whistle drives me mad.
  18. Done
  19. Shocked to read about this, that bike means a lot to Harry, hope he gets it back.
  20. I think the speedo has been changed so would not believe the mileage on the café sport. My iti marked one failed at 20000 miles and was replaced with the same dur one (albeit MPH). Also the ohlin forks are slightly different from mine in that mine has the cap screws on both forks and a hollow axle. nothing wrong with the ones that are on (they are on rossa corsa,s etc.). Then again that's just me comparing a UK spec bike against that one, maybe other café sport owners could chime in.
  21. I keep the old one as I do not think there is anything wrong with it. As for labour costs, well that would be me as I maintain the bike.
  22. I have a 2004 bike, changed the spring at 20000 miles ish!!!!. Nothing wrong with the original but i was beginning to get paranoid. (original is now a good spare). There has certainly been 2004 bikes had the spring go but dont know if it is common. The gearbox is just splash lubricated. So how big is the cup!!
  23. That will be the rossopuro one i think, have one fitted as well but never noticed any vibration.
