I have to agree with nogbad here, the masters of the universe are missing some thing. . American response is pathetic.

Reading this I will have to revise my riding style of the bike and see if it helps i am guilty of maybe having it in to high a gear and opening her up from 2-2500rpm and have not been happy with the results. tomorrow morning it all changes.I just assumed with a big Vtwin you did not have to bother with changing gear all the time because of the torque they have.

Why not wait till saturday when he puts in the real photos, then judge him .

Hello Dont suppose if anyone knows the champion oilfilter part no. or halfords equivalant for the v11. I got some vouchers from the work and am stocking up on oils, sparkplugs etc, but they only sell halfords or champion oilfilters, I also saw some halfords airfilters that looked as though they may fit. my cb is a76 but i changed them purely for looks as they looked rubbish. the cracks had not went right through ( i should have only changed the outer two cos i am tight) but i bet your bike has seen more sunshine than mine (even in its Garage).

I have same problems with my bike, i removed the tank and checked the plug connections from the stand and they looked ok, they were joined by a plug which i thought was a bit ott and not bullet connectors so i did not want to crinp them with my pliers, anyways put tank back and it would not start till i cycled bars. my question is does the other end of the plug go to the clutch ( i forgot to look) the clutch switch clicks away so i am confident it is not that. Now with a couple of voddies in me i have just thought that actually it is a good anti theft thing. would it be better to cut of the plug and join the wires together with connectors.

Hi I dont think this is a problem with mg. I recently bought a new set of intake rubbers for my cb750 and i will some time in the future get a set for the guzzi. Rubber cracks/perishs and if you live in sunnier climes and the rubber is exposed to it well its going to go. How it happens in this driech place i will never know.

Cafe sport looks fantastic, goes as well as it looks and its fairing is in the right place as well, I have one in the garage and love it above everything else.( hope the wife doesnt read this).

Well boy am i glad i read this beforeI went out for a ride. was out in the middle of nowhere and pulled in for a break, went to start the bike and the starter button did sod all, started to panic a bit till i remembered what i read about cycling the bars lock to lock and bingo started first time. Cheers Gary

For what its worth I bought my cafe sport with 5000m on the clock from a dealer who also had a scura for sale, I prefer the look of the scura but the matt black peeling engine paint made it look shabby compared to properly painted one (i hope)plus only£500 difference between the 04reg cafe sport and the 02 reg scura made it a good deal. I intend keeping the bike for a real long time so it should be easy enough to modify handlebar positions/fairings etc in the future if the whim takes me. Gary

Hi folks Ginger you are more than welcome to drop in by and have a listen to my guzzi (it has mistrals on, but its just a tadge noisier according to the neighbours). I live in cove so its on your way home, bad news is i am offshore till wed. afternoon weather permitting but phone me anytime after that on 890719 and we can arrange something. Big J I was impressed with moto eccosse, i was late getting there because of the g8 summit but they stayed open late to finish my bike and the bike was a lot smoother on the way home than it was getting there. I dont think they have a big spares set up but the owner Mel who has just taken it over has some good sounding ideas for the future and is Very enthusiastic about all things guzzi.

Hi Ginger I have a v11 if you want to listen to it, I must admit i wondered what i had done buying it when i heard it running but now i just ignore the noises unless they sound terminal. I took it down to moto ecosse (reccomended) in ayr for its 6000 mile service and it felt a lot better on the ride home, While i was there a guy went out on a breva 1100 and it made all the right/same noises as mine. Anyways if you want to hear mine its no problem (i live in aberdeen). Gary (by the way what does this green icon mean??)

Hello I have been reading this site for a couple of months now and really enjoy it, Its the first place i would go if anything happens to my bike and i would even feel confident changing the pawl spring myself because of all the info here. But could anyone give me an idiots guide to putting a photo on to the site, I dont want to attempt it and balls it up (what size should it be etc). Oh and edwards will win at donington.

I posted a couple of weeks ago after also getting a puncture, and got some great advice from the guys on this site, you should look it up Before taking the wheel off. I bought a mg stand from motomecca and its worth the expense if you intend keeping the bike its great for working on the bike (not that i can do much)

Well I have just booked my bike in for its service with moto eccosse, will tell you how i got on with them next week
