  1. It's "dumbest" but never mind. How in hell do we get the U.S. Congress to start eating there so we can get rid of those dumb turkeys. And does it have to be slow?
  2. Mt. Baker is a blast. GuzziBob and I did it during MGNOC National Rally at Mt. Vernon in 2003. I also did Crater Lake (Mt. Mazama), Mt. St Helens, Mt. Ranier, Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen during that trip. I missed a few of the other volcanoes. You have to save something for later or the old lady will never let you go!
  3. Ya don't need no boat, when ya got somethin' to float...
  4. Is this an eye test? Five minutes passed before I noticed the red arrow. Another five passed before I noticed the tower...
  5. Some of the anti-fog treatments make my eyes swell shut from a chemical reaction. Now I only use a pinlock inner shield (Nolan N-100 helmet).
  6. Because it's a BMW, otherwise known as: Break My Wallet
  7. Breathing must be a tad difficult...
  8. My vanpool went by this incident shortly after it happened. Basically, the local (and very unsympathetic to motorcyclists) court said the fault was the motorcyclists.
  9. Verrrryyyyy impressive. The bass player bears a spooky resemblance to Craig Chaquico while Jake's lead in on the video is very similar to Craig Chaquico's song dedicated to his childhood doctor named Elizabeth.
  10. Put it in the right location and you could make the wings furl and unfurl...
  11. I second all of the above. My wife said if I want to get a Norge - get it! Now all I have to do is figure out how tp pay for it...
  12. Likewise except I started in 1971, am only 55 and have had far less than 45 cycles. I did have to lower the clip-ons though, I like to cruise at around 80 mph and that's about right for where I put the bars. The Airhawk has allowed me to do 600 mile days on the V11 Sport. That's about as far as I care to ride these days anyway.
  13. It's just a burnout? Thank God. I thought they might have put Lucas electronics in the bike...
  14. Mmmm..... No. It looks like the terminator had sex with a beer can and then got run over by a train.
  15. I've decided to let go of some parts and thin the herd. Part of the process is to "upgrade/downgrade/sidegrade" the Bugswatter to V11 Sport engine (stock). The parts I've been obtaining to build a monster engine will be the first to go. So... 1 set of Mike Rich Stage II ported and dual plugged heads with additional valve recess to handle the next hotter cam over what you would run with a stock valve configuration. Less than 300 miles on them. Includes a brand new set of spark plug cables and dual plug ignition coils which have never even been installed. $2000. If you could find a spare set of heads to port, you couldn't approach this price by nearly a thousand dollars. 1 set of 17" stock V11 Sport rims. Front and rear. Great condition but the rear is from a later model (narrow) and is black while the front is the gray. $550 for both. 1 1997 California. $3500 OBO. Add trailer hitch with wiring for additional $225. If you're seriously interested, PM for details. Not pristine but never fails to run either. Reliable if unexciting workhorse. Includes Givi bags. 1 RaceCo stroker street crank. The last one ever made and never used. I paid $1150 for it. It's yours for $850 and I'll throw in a spare block and some cylinders that are bored and sleeved to 95mm. When the Bugswatter get's running properly again, I'll let it go for $5500 with all of the spare parts I've accrued but are really too numerous to describe at the moment. Right now, you could get it for $4500. Nothing delivered. Pick up or pay for shipping. FrankenSport is not for sale, I've promised it to my son.
  16. The sidecovers are the same old thing and I suspect the tank is as well. The emperor has new clothes is all. I cringe at the driving lights, the Vintage has the same old 360W alternator that's been on these things for a very long time. IMHO, it's far over-priced for what amounts to a re-release of the same old thing. OTOH, maybe it's been priced the same as a Norge to encourage buyers to move upwards and onwards.
  17. My son is stationed at Lakenheath airbase in the U.K. Today, he and the visiting Guzzi personage of HDGoose, visited Hayward's in Cambridge, England today. Many photos were taken of bikes. Some photos of Griso's in all colors, three Norges (all silver), many shots of Norge features and of course, our favorite leprechaun, Gary, sitting on some of the bikes. Enjoy. http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b62/corr...20Moto%20Guzzi/ If the link doesn't work for some reason, I'll watch this thread for a while and notify my son if there problems reported. Fixes may take a while if there are though, he's at work.
  18. I think you just nailed the difference. Guzzis are roadsters, not racers.
  19. Wooley Bully. Yeow! Uno, Dos, One, Two, Tres Quatro...
  20. I like that Wakan...
  21. I was down at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant during it's construction. For the reactor vessel, a massive structure, the bolts securing the top of the vessel are torqued to something like 100,000 ft/lbs. To do this, each stud has a threaded bolt hole on the top that a hydraulic jack is threaded into with a lift frame. The nut is run down the stud by hand, the jacking assembly is attached, then the stud stretched to the torque specification, the nut run down the rest of the way by hand and then the jack released. The scale of these parts is staggering, but the process is fascinating.
  22. Contact bigbikerrick (look in classifieds), he has a munched rear wheel and I'm sure he'd be happy to sell the spacer and even the whole rear drive if you want it.
  23. We had about 8000 full time employees at the research lab I retired from. When asked by someone how many people worked there, the usual reply was "About 10%"...
  24. Why settle for just one person? Here's a whole group of Guzzi enthusiasts! I'm in the center standing next to Martin. Since I've forgotten the names of everone else (CRS syndrome), I'll let someone else identify them. This is at Haywards in Cambridge this last June.
