WARNING!!! pic of the day

You do realize the Ninja rider is still under there don't you?... -
Very messy indeed. forum topic 1301 Pictured below is the Goodyear Ford hose #63318 compared to the EV hose Here is the NAPAonline part number and description: Item#: NBH10912 Price: $ 26.79 Attributes: Attributes: Hose - Heater I.D.(s): .62'' x .62'' x .62'' Length: 23.7'' ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- guzzitech article EV Breather Hose I was in urgent need of replacement of the crankcase breather hose on my 98EV. The hose I used was Dayco #80404. It's intended purpose was as a coolant hose, so I can give no promises on how it will hold up to oil. Therefore use at own risk. However one has been on my EV for over the last 10,000 miles and appears ok. I run with Mobil 1 15/50. Some stats taken with a caliper that has seen its better days. Guzzi hose ID 12mm, OD 23mm wall thickness 4mm - Dayco hose ID 10mm, OD 20mm, wall thickness 5mm. It will need to be trimmed on both ends. One trimmed it will fit the crucial bend under the frame and the other end is left long enough to gently bend to the crankcase. Cost was $8.97.

Talent like this would bring me to my knees... -
You can lower them about 1.25 cm but that's all. The alignment lug is not absolutely necessary. You're pretty much stuck with buying some clipons from someone like DAS Mototec or installing a set of WP forks because the WP's are constant diameter.

At last, a place to set the six pack... -
Obviously, if several injuries had already occurred at the damaged portion of the road, the local, county or state authorities had sufficient time and incentive to mark the problem or close the road. They didn't, so they are fully responsible for everything that has happened. Previous accident reports will make this abundantly clear to any court of law. Road repairs may be expensive, but signs of warning, barricades or simple road closures are not. Go get 'em! And make them get you a Griso to replace your bike.

Did you say "Hi" to Sandra for me? Hayward's is a really great shop from what I could tell.

I was considering purchasing one of these: Actuator with support lever from Moto-Spezial The description however, makes note of an incompatibility of o-ring types between brake fluid and whatever the desired fluid for the clutch cylinder works with. It sounds like the operating fluid is anti-freeze. Does anyone have any input on this? The rear actuator looks really clever but I'm guessing that the approach shown here: is at least as valid.

What an opportunity! Fix the wiring and upgrade it. Rec-Ignition Module

I just returned from a family reunion with my son who is stationed in the UK. While we were there, we went through Wales, spent 5 days in Ireland - 3 of those at HDGoose's place in the north end of Ireland (Thanks Gary!), 2 days in Scotland and the balance of the time visiting tourist traps. The high point of the trip was when my son and I dropped off the female side of the group at a mall and headed for Haywards Garage in Cambridge and visited with some Moto Guzzi folk. The usual suspects. from v11lemans.com, Martin Barret, my son Doug, me, Chris and his wife Jane. There were others there, but they didn't make it into this photo. Note the yellow Griso in the shop getting it;s first service. That's the first one in Britain. Gorgeous bike in yellow. Blue Griso in the Hayards showroom. No instrument panel for some reason. My guess is that this is one of those dealers that will actually rob a floor model to ensure that a customers bike keeps running. Haywards has some really nice folk there and probably more Guzzis than I've ever seen in any shop in the USA. Kudos to Sandra for the hospitality and the tea. Haywards sells Royal Enfields too.

There's got to be a better way or removing the oil than this!

Jeez Tx Redneck, you sure know how to fill out a resume. That reminds me of the joke about the guy searching for a job. When he finally finds one he goes home to his wife shouting "I got a job! I got a job!" She's ecstatic, they've been on the ropes for a while. She asks where the job is and he answers - "It's a whorehouse! It's a thousand dollars a month!" Now she's really happy if a bit put off by the location of employment. Then he says - "I know it's a lot of money, but I'm sure we'll manage it somehow..."

You betcha! Doug was sure enjoying sitting on that black Griso. Maybe someday we'll both have one! -

Hey guys, I had a great time meeting you all this afternoon. I really appreciate that some of you rode so far to have this impromptu meeting of Guzzisti at Haywards. I thought the folks at Hayward's Garage were also super. -
Pretty spiffy but I couldn't find any links to those pictures or explanations. Or prices...
-
Now Dave, that's just downright mean.
-
I don't suppose you could query them as to their entire listing of Moto Guzzi paint codes could you? Perhaps only the last ten or fifteen years worth.

Girton College map map 2 Hayward's site specifies their location as being next to a BP station and 50 meters from Girton College. Spectacularly limited access from the major highways. It makes you wish their web site actually had a high definition map...). Plan accordingly. We're likely going to take the B1049 down to Huntingdon Rd. from the A14 (west from Soham area) and then head back up Huntingdon Rd. until we find the shop. -
Well, we're all set. Tomorrow my son Doug and I will be at Hayward's in Cambridge to meet any Guzzisti that show up. We plan on being there around 11 A.M. and hang around for a few hours making a nuisance of ourselves. Now all we have to do is figure out how to get there...

Looks awkward. Perhaps if it wasn't up against a red wall...

We returned from our 8 day loop through Wales, Ireland and Scotland today. On our way (in a car dammit) southound on the A1 in England, we met a fellow Guzzisti and his pillion riding a black Moto Guzzi carb sport. We talked a little bit, shook hands and then he took off. Although we didn't manage but a tad of conversation, I finally met another Guzzi rider. Howdy Rit, I hope we meet again sometime!

I never did find out what mine are on my 97 Sporti. I do know that I just ran mine up to 58,000 miles, then had the service done but I'd let them go way too long. $500 to get the fork tubes turned down for the abrasion and replace the seals. Whether you do it, or someone else does it, follow the recommended intervals for service.

Departing for England tomorrow, have made plans to be at Haywards in Cambridge on the 24th. I hope to meet some of you there.

There are epoxies specially formulated for use in gas tanks (do NOT ask me how I know!). Check your local auto parts store and ask for assistance if needed. The hardest part will be the surface prep down inside the tank and the application of the epoxy. Good luck!
