I wonder who eventually acquired that specific bike. Chris Tucker very nearly loses the bike at the start of his ride and when he stops, someone off-camera is very obviously holding the bike up, because we all know that the sidestand on these beasts is a bitch to get down, and certainly not as fast as it appeared in the movie. Hollywood being what it is, the glorification of all that is false, couldn't leave the sound of the engine in V twin mode and opted to use a UJM four cylinder sound track. Cretins.

My Airtech fairing is currently in storage in Oklahoma, but I can guarantee you that it is MUCH lighter than the stock fairing. It is much thinner as well. Since it is made with fiberglass matte and not chop. It shouldn't be any less strong than the stock piece though.

Looks like the U.K. is the only place left. Miline UK. I doubt the Guzzi jacket is still available though. I know that the factory was in Spain. Outside of that, I have no information.

Before going to those lengths on a stock V11, I think a Ghezzi Brian would be a better starting point. That's just me though. I'm sure we're all looking forward to pictures of the finished project. Someday I may even finish mine...

Uh... that's a carb tank, as in Carb Sport. Not Carbon. Oh well. The fuel capacity of the Sport 1100i is a hair over 5 gallons, but a modification to the bottom of the tank (requiring the use of pods and the deletion of the airbox) can add about a half gallon more capacity. i have no idea what the parts cost, you'd have to contact Airtech. I gt my fairing off of eBay for about $140. The tailpiece I also got off of eBay for about $50.

According to California SpeedSports in Livermore, there are currently 6 here in the U.S. I bet an MGS02 with the new Breva 1100 engine would be a very tractable alternative to the in-short-supply 4V engine. I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat if that was the logical alternative to buying a very expensive MGS01 that is itself in short supply.

Only $50,000 eh? Nothing like a bit of profit. So 6 of these made it to the USA and of those, one went to Barbers for the museum. And if the dealers/owners holding ones now want $50,000 a copy, the rest of them will also likely go to museums. So much for a track presence. Well, sorta. The one in Livermore is being outfitted with lights and road going gear and if the owner can somehow squeeze that one through the California registration process, we might see it more than the ones gathering dust because of the inflated price.

Airtech This is probably only available on special order. It's not the Euro model either, but as I understand it, the headlight on the Euro model is even worse than the rectangular one on the USA variant, so you might want to take that into consideration. I do have one of these fairings. It is hand laid fiberglass and is much thinner and lighter than the chop fiberglass used on the factory version. The fairing is probably stronger than a stock one as a result although if flexes more easily (more resilient too). Keep your eye on eBay. Sport 1100 parts (seats and fairings are the same for carb and efi models although tanks are not. I've managed to set aside a complete set of everything as spares over the past couple of years. I have an efi and a carb tank down at a shop in southern California awaiting modification for increased fuel capacity (two full years now). Probably, a carb tank can be used or modified for use with an efi system, but to be honest, it's been so long since I've seen that tank, I don't remember what the bottom fittings look like.

What's an MV F4 1000 going for these days? Only magazine I've got with an article on it, doesn't list prices.

I had a Nelson Rigg something or other on my V65C outside of my house. After a year and a half, it rotted so bad you could tear it buy looking at it. Now the bike sits under one of those big blue plastic tarps. YMMV.

Actually, the tailframe is unlikely to be bent. Nice to think that there's probably one surviving piece of the frame. :!:

I will guarantee you that if the forks are bent that bad, the frame is as well. I hit the back of the car with my V11 Sport nearly dead on at a closing speed of less than 35 mph and didn't bend the front as much as this guy has. The photos taken the same day (now that I know where to look) plainly showed broken motor mounts ad infinitum, ad nauseum. Salvage value for a V11 Sport is $2800. A LeMans may be a tad higher. If you want parts to play with - go for it. Don't expect to put it back on the road in pristine condition for much less than $7000 and probably more than that.

Update to QuickTime Pro for $30 and then you can turn on or off individual tracks. There's a lot of movies though, so it took me a while to go through them all. In a way, it's sort of fun to listen to them all at once. Sounds like some parties I've been to after a few too many drinks...

Drat. The maintenance for the Odyssey batteries is starting to be clear as mud! It looks as though the manufacturer is recommending a trickle charger although Steve G. appears to disagree. I have two battery tenders, the small ones. Once is a typical model and the other is the overpriced BMW one intended for dry cell batteries. Time to cross my fingers I guess. All of my battery failures to date have been case failures or accidental shorting (long and embarrassing story on that one...) and not degradation during the lifetime of the battery. Whatever that is, since I've wound up replacing all of mine at least once due to other reasons well within the normal life-span of the item. Thankfully, they're much cheaper than they were initially. In 1998, the Odyssesy retailed for $168. Thanks to Dave Laing's researching, they can be had for about a third of that. BTW Dave, what were the particulars on that battery source you found?

My Mac was doing likewise. I guessed that it might be going to sleep or something, but no settings in the control panel seemed to make any difference. I finally wrote a shell script to monitor the directory every 30 seconds and since that was an active process, the computer quit going to sleep or whatever it was doing and I finally got the downloads. Not entirely complete for one of them, but I did get all of the .pdf files and the videos. The PC stuff is of no use to me, so I doubt that I'm missing anything important. Since your problem might be a sleep or application inactivity type of thing, you might want to check the display, screensaver, energy savers or whatever on your system to ensure that they're all off and then give it another shot.

Turpentine may do the trick. Get a tiny bit lifted and then keep swabbing some turpentine on with a cue tip or small brush.

Unfortunately, no. OSX is unix. Sort of. I have YDL too, but that isn't covered with a binary and I don't feel any strong desire to boot up YDL and build the application. Something I'm not particularly good at. I started to purchase QT Pro from Apple since that will do the job, but my router crashed in the middle, so I'm stuck waiting to see if Apple will send me the download ID or whether I'll have to pay $30 twice for one copy.
