I generally keep my Scura pretty stock. But this one from Japan has tested me many times. If you click on the thread you'll find some beautiful photographs in Tokyo. MIke http://www.vulcandrifterriders.com/forum/index.php?topic=39834.0

The "curse of projects" doesn't afflict me too badly. I just changed plans from a custom project for the Scura to a restoration. The restoration is completed and I really love the bike. I rode it on back to back tours with my ST3. Preferred the Scura despite the lack of hard bags. Right now I'm working on restoring a Laverda Jota. But if I still have the bodywork maybe I'll put it on a spiney like a Sport or Centauro and make a Magni style sport bike. Mike

I have a Daytona fairing and lowers mocked up on a V11 Sport. I'd be willing to part with them as I decided to restore my Scura rather than do a custom. Ping me if interested. Price would be about $350 plus shipping. drdezmo at yahoo dot com. Mike

The bike runs very rich. No real need to do it other than I'm kind of picky about my bikes. I like them to be as good as possible. DOCC it's well tuned. Mike

My Scura came with a Power Commander 2. It's probably 20 years old and no longer supported by Power Commander. What are my options for changing the fueling? Replace the PC? Reflash the stock ECU? Other? Thanks in advance! Mike

I've been using these on my 2002 Scura for the last year. Selling because I restored the bike to stock. Small crack in the tank paint and scuff on the seat base. Hi rez pics available. $295 for the pair.

Good question. It was on the bike when I purchased it about 5 years ago. It's not shown in my Scura brochure, so assume it is aftermarket. Mike

I gave up trying to deal with The Tank Shop. I contacted them several times. Slow, or no response. Maybe they don't want to do overseas orders? Mike

I'll 2nd the Spada if you are looking for a touring bike. I've done back to back 500+ mile days on my 1993. It's less of a cruiser than a Cal and more of a sport touring bike. IMHO the best of the Tonti framed Guzzi's. Mike

What's my best option for tuning my V11 Sport F.I.?
milar replied to milar's topic in Technical Topics
Thanks for the thoughts everyone. Good tips. Mike -
My Scura came with a Power Commander 2 with a Fast By Ferraci label on it. The bike is stock except for FBF carbon cans. I assume FBF must have sold some sort of tuning kit many years ago. The bike is very cold blooded at start up, but runs so rich when warm riders behind me can smell gas. Sooo, I'm open to suggestions about how to proceed and improve my fueling. Thoughts? Mike

That's the weekend of the Arizona Guzzi "Gathering Of Eagles". A few SoCal guys always ride over. You might think of joining us for a weekend with fellow Guzzista's. The rally is located on legendary Hwy 89A in Red Rock Country a few miles from Sedona. Send me your email address if you'd like a pdf flyer. Mike Larson drdezmo at yahoo dot com

I bought this over the years to do a spine project. Maybe a Magni style sportbike on a Centauro, maybe a V11 Sport GT. Use your imagination. It's some of Guzzi's most beautiful bodywork. Some of the stuff is almost unobtainum like the Daytona lowers. Almost all of it is new, or in nice condition with the exception of the Daytona fairing which needs some fiberglass work. Follow the link to some pics I've uploaded plus a V11 Sport with the Daytona fairing and lowers and a Magni for inspiration. I don't really want to break it up. Buy it all, use what you need and sell the rest. I'm thinking $1,000 for the package consisting of: Daytona fairing Daytona fairing lowers Sport 1100 fairing Sport 1100 seat cowl Sport 1100 seat Sport 1100 mirrors Sport 1100 headlight. http://s1112.photobucket.com/user/drdezmo/library/4%20sale?sort=3&page=1#

A quick correction. The rear tire is size is 180/55. The wheel size is 5.5 x 17. Mike

I have the V11 Sport Scura brochure in English. I can confirm the wheelbase is listed as 1,490mm and the rear wheel size is 180/55. Mike

Will these work? M http://www.ebay.com/itm/00-Moto-Guzzi-LeMans-Sport-V11-FORKS-W-TRIPLE-TREE-/310691785043?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4856ac6953&vxp=mtr

I wish I could be there. I love riding in The Blue Ridge. But I won't be there until later in Sept. Are there enough members in the West to do something similar in Az/Calif? FYI: your beautiful Sport is an inspiration for how the Scura should be. M

Ouch! That's a bummer. If you decide to go after the shipping company a buddy bought a set of Ohlins off a LeMans. He paid $1800 so that should give you an idea of value. I love my Scura. I think it is the BEST V11 made. The lighter clutch and flywheel and Ohlins means it rides like no other V11. It's the closest thing there is to a modern 750 Sport. My #1 choice would be to put it back to stock. But I love Scuras. FWIW: I'd find a cheap suitable replacement fork and ride it until you can find the correct replacements off a crashed LeMans etc. M

Hi Jason, Great looking bike. I did a quick conversion to US and 5 litres equals about 1 US gallon and 100 KM is about 62 US miles. So you appear to be getting about 60 miles per gallon. My sport gets closer to 40 mpg. 60+ is very, very good. But others can comment. Mike

Never been there but it looks like fun. Any motels nearby? Mike

What's the difference between a Daytona and Daytona RS?
milar replied to milar's topic in Older models
Does the Daytona have 18" wheels? What would one expect to pay for a nice Daytona? Mike
