  1. Now there's a tale of the replacement bearing going belly up. http://morini.com.au/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2148 Hope that's a one-off. m
  2. What is very unusual about this small block machine? Not that it's (almost) in one piece. Or that it's having a replacement ignition system fitted.
  3. The one at Newcastle is sold. Gone to Canada for over £13,000. mike
  4. Quote from article: "It handles exceptionally well for such a long wheelbase." I once had a Panther sidecar outfit. When I was doing some work on the chair, off the bike, a friend took it for a ride solo. When he came back, white-faced with fear, I asked him what it felt like. "A wheelbarrow full of pigshit with a flat tyre" he said. With feeling. I suspect the quote above means much the same thing. mike ex-wheelbarrow owner

    Best helmet?

So how old does an Everoak GP make me?.............
  6. Hope you are right, as it will be much easier to fix (probably) than a porous casting. I never did get all of the leaks fixed on mine. mike
  7. It's daytime. He's asleep.
  8. Is the engine from the BSA Sunbeam / Triumph Tigress scooter? There was a 250cc 4stroke and a 175 (I think) two stroke. The smaller one might have been called a Cub. Looks like someone put one of those into a spine type frame (like, but not, an MZ) as some sort of homebrew. mike
  9. Maybe the job is just easier there. The American population is vast.
  10. It was an honest guess. Does everyone else know what he's got?
  11. If you want to try it for yourself, buy some Propanol (either ordinary [1] or iso[2]) and add about a litre to your tank. mike
  12. It's a Trabant engine, 500cc two stroke, and the frame is probably BSA. The engine was more usually found in the famous East german cardboard car. Which I quite liked. Although the last few, with VW Golf power and suspension, were as exciting as 1960's muscle cars. m
  13. Minarelli Linto Aim Bianchi Cimatti Mival Mito? Moto Italiana Trento? I hate it when I'm reduced to guessing....
  14. This http://www.eurospares.com/graphics/lavh2o.jpg seems to be very similarly constructed, so my guess is Laverda 125, 1982.
  15. The two things that spring to mind are: 1 Phasar. 2 Shuttlworth Snap.
  16. Difficult to tell, as the picture quality is not that good. It looks like it has been stood on its nose but that's not helping with Gurgling.....
  17. Best bit of that was the Cold War air raid siren, powered by a Chevrolet V8. Which they started up. In a garage.....
  18. Any John Holmes movie. I'm told he was a big d!ck, too. 8-)))
  19. I'll tell Granny. She'll be glad. Jed.
  20. Cagiva bought the _Aermacchi_ operation from AMF HD to begin production of their own machines. m
  21. You got a ceement pond there?
  22. Make eminent sense to me. A tyre company can only test a tyre on so many machines, in so many situations. After that, it's guesstimation. Although there are already some sensible laws about tyre use (no scramble [sorry, motocross] tyres on the road) what bothers me is the thought of heading down the "you own X motorcycle, so you will use Y brand tyres of Z size at Q pressure" road. Seems to be on the horizon in the EU. m
