Welcome to the board. You've come to the right place to do your homework if you are interested in a V11. I ended up with a Rosso Corsa LeMans after about three months of research on here. Good luck . . . there are plenty of very nice V11's out there with your name on 'em.
  3. The 2001 aprilia falco also had this same firenza red color. There may be some info available at the aprilia forum
  4. That just motivates me to keep riding and riding and riding . . .
  5. Hey Hillbilly . . . I too was looking for a bike to last me a decade or more of just the type of riding you described. I initially thought long and hard about the new Breva, but chose a LeMans instead. I came from an aprilia SL mille, which is very similar to the LeMans, except for the orientation of the V-twin! I lean more toward the sport side of riding, so I am very pleased with my LeMans. I initially was hell bent on getting a Coppa Italia, but every guzzisti I met told me they really appreciated the fairing on the LeMans at speed, so I changed my mind. When I saw the LeMans in person, it was a slam dunk. BTW . . . you've come to the right place to make up your mind. This forum is the cat's meow, thanks to Jaap.
  6. I did play musical relays, so maybe that is my problem. Numbering from front to back, into which slot does the 5-pin go?
  7. After replacing my stock battery with a Hawker Odyssey PC545, the bike started right up. Now I have a new problem. No tach and no headlight, only a parking light. All fuses are intact. Any suggestions as to where to start?
  8. My stock Spark battery, after recharging, read 11.5 volts. I replaced it with a Hawker Odyssey PC545 and she started right up. I had already replaced the stock clutch switch bullet connectors with some 24K gold blingers, so I should be good to go in that department. However, I now have another problem . . . no tack and no headlight! Help Mr Wizard . . .
  9. Yes, I can hear the "click" when pulling in the clutch lever. Carl Allison is coming over this morning to help me sort it out I'll post up the results later. Thanks for everyone's help.
  10. This bike only has 1100 miles on it. I find it hard to believe anything is already "broken."
  11. Hey Carl. I found the connectors, cleaned them and added dielec grease. Guess that's not it. Are you in town?
  12. Cleaned and greased clutch bullet connectors . . . still won't start Switched all the relays arounds . . . still won't start Charged battery . . . still won't start, and now the headlight won't come on when I switch on the key Very frustrating.
  13. Thanks. I'll give her a look see.
  14. Could you expound on this proceedure please. Not sure what you are talking about. Thanks
  15. Tried tapping starter . . . still won't start
  16. Must one remove the tank to get to this pair of bullet connectors?
  17. Switch moves freely. Added WD-40 . . . still doesn't start
  18. In neutral . . . still doesn't start
  19. Still doesn't start
  20. I'm kinda like you. Around 600 miles is a full day. I did a trip from Toledo Ohio to the Macinack bridge on the UP Michigan and back. I think that was somewhere between 600-700 miles. No problem really.
  21. I really like this idea better than the fully faired Norge.
  22. Iron Butt This was interesting to me.
