65-17 win for my Big 12 Oklahoma State Cowboys over the PAC 10 Washington State Huskies. If you haven't had a chance to donate to the forum, now is as good a time as any, right? Just use the PAYPAL link at the the of the page.

Anybody know this one? Nero in Hendersonville, NC?
orangeokie replied to Cam Lay's topic in 24/7 V11
I was watching that auction and had the same thoughts with reference to the claim it had been garage kept, yet the heads were definitely sun faded. -
The Dahlonega, GA guzzi shop is a must see for anyone in the area. They are a great bunch of guzzi folks and the riding in the area is some of the best I have seen. These folks will "deal" if you are looking to buy.

A chain driven touring bike does not make sense. If Triumph would put a shaft drive on their Sprint they would double sales. Chains are for street bikes. Shafts are for long distant touring.

Depends on what motor and mapping you have in your 2010's. The new A8 motor is mre softly tuned than the previous A5 motor and in my experience runs very nicely straight out of the box. Most of my Stelvio owning customers are very happy with their A5 motored machines but they *may* need a bit more fiddling to get 'Just Right' though. If I had the option I'd be buying a 2010 Griso with the A8 motor, well I do have the option but I'm very happy with my A5 motored bike and can't be arsed to spend more on the swap. Pete Thanks for the reply Pete. How can a common customer determine if an 8V motor is an A5 or an A8? Would a dealer know the difference, and how could one document an A5 or A8 motor on a new Stelvio for example, like the '09 I mentioned? Also, what distinguishes a MY '09 from a MY '10? Is there a master list of VIN numbers that is available? So many questions, and so few answers.

Is there a range of VIN numbers to which this recall applies. I am looking at an '09 Stelvio VIN ZGULZC0079M112432 and am trying to ascertain if this engine is sound.

All of the relish of challenges between gentlemen riders comes back to life in the classic sportiness of the V7. Moto Guzzi V7 Clubman Racer is the end result of extensive tuning inspired by the motorcycles that in the 1970s challenged each other in the modified production category. Races enlivened by heated rivalry between fans of the Japanese bikes, at the time extremely powerful but hard to handle, and fans of Italian motorcycles, perhaps on the minus side in terms of power but superior to their Oriental challengers when it came to their rigorous chassis and braking. Challenges on the tracks then shifted to tables at bars, where showing off a Moto Guzzi V7 Sport with single-seat saddle, racing exhaust system and the unfailing top fairing was the symbol of belonging to the elite of the sportiest motorcyclists. The V7 Clubman Racer is the epitome of this snapshot taken more than 30 years ago, and reworks it by adopting the technology and quality standard of today’s manufacturing processes. The latest member of the V7 family is fitted with a top fairing inspired by the legendary 850 LeMans, a single-seat saddle with number plate, and even flaunts a roaring pair of Arrow silencers. Its footrests moved back and adjustable handlebars make it inviting to take onto the track. All that a gentleman rider in the mood for track days has to do is put on a helmet and a simple leather suit, find the ideal set-up by adjusting the sophisticated pair of Bitubo shock absorbers and guide the 18 inch front wheel as close as possible to the curb. he strong personality of the Moto Guzzi V7 Clubman Racer is also underscored by details like the chrome tank complete with knee guard, rear-view mirrors anchored to the ends of the handlebar, the chrome Moto Guzzi logo ornaments and the new racing fuel tank cap. The rest of the bike follows the features of the V7 Cafè with regard to both chassis geometry, with its double cradle design and lower elements bolted on and removable, and to the geometry with the headstock tilted at 26°50’. In addition to the multi-adjustable Bitubo shock absorbers, the suspension banks on the absorption capacity of the Marzocchi fork with 40 mm stanchions and 130 mm travel. The braking system consists of a 320 mm floating front disc and a 260 mm disc in the rear, while the spoke wheels have the same diameter as those of the V7 Cafè but instead of high profile tyres, they are equipped with the higher performance and aesthetically pleasing Pirelli Demon Sport, with a larger 140/70 tyre in rear. All owners of V7 bikes can find all of the parts supplied standard on the V7 Clubman Racer in the new Moto Guzzi accessories catalogue, available separately.

The MG shaft drive is a major plus over a chain any day for long distance touring. The LeMans is a great choice for one up sport touring. And I agree with your perception the 03-04 MY were some of the best LeMans ever manufactured. Virtually all the niggles engineered out.

RH was one of my favorite forum members because he had such a unique writing style. I'm sure I missed his political threads which must have rubbed someone the wrong way, but his technical knowledge was solid and his delivery was entertaining. I'd like to see him come back. I'm a firm believer than most any thread will live or die on the vine based upon it's entertainment value. We're all adults right?

OK fellas . . . it's American College Football time and that means its time to support Jaap and this great forum of Guzzistis. Look for the PayPal "Donate" button at the top right portion of the page and contribute what ever you can. Once again, because of the poor world wide economy I gave 50 euros again. I hope many of you who appreciate the quality of information and camaraderie provided by Jaap and the many faithful and entertaining contributors on here will pitch in and help. For you relative newcomers who have had a chance to peruse the forum welcome and enjoy. I think this is the third or fourth year we have posted this fund raiser and I use the start of the American college football season (first week in September) as a reminder to gather financial support for this outstanding forum many of us have enjoyed for years. FYI, Jaap has never had anything to do with it, but he certainly deserves our help at least once a year in a dedicated effort to keep this site going strong, don't you agree? Lets dig deep and throw some meaningful euros his way. Go Oklahoma State Cowboys! (Who's your team?)

Outstanding write up Mark. It is people like you who make this one of the best MG forums on the net!

Since I sold my Rosso Corsa with my wife's blessing to buy something on which she can ride pillion, I have focused on the Stelvio and Norge as a replacement. I am sold on the new 8V motor, regardless, and ultimately I would like to wait for the new 8V Norge to make it over here to the states, but if I can't wait I have been looking closely at the Stelvio. I found a brand new MY 2009 (red) for $10,750 which sounds like a pretty good deal to me. My question for those in the know is whether the MY 2010 Stelvio is a better option supposedly with all the bugs worked out of the 8V motor?

I've got just under 3000 miles on mine. I agree with most of your observations. It does quite well in the twisties although I have to ride about 200 miles to get to any. I put 460 miles on mine yesterday and I would say that the seat was murder for me after about 150 miles necessitating frequent stops to relieve the pain. The footpegs are a bit too far forward which cramps the body on long rides as well. Personally, I feel the ride can be a bit harsh but that may be a settings issue. I haven't touched mine. The stock mirrors have a tendency to break since the metal is machined too thin at the clamping area, I've changed to 1200 Sport mirrors. It is a pretty sweet bike other than that but I would not get rid of the Cali to make room for one. A V7 Café and a Cali would be very complimentary but neither bike by itself covers all of the abilities of the other. Howdy Carl, glad to see you are still on the forum. You probably saw on here that I just sold my Rosso Corsa. Too bad we didn't get to go for a ride together. I am still working pipeline and am gone quite a bit of the year. Hope all is well. The next time I am back home in OKC I'll give you a call? Does your number still end in xxx-xxx-1951? Phil

There is a beautiful 2002 Lemans on ebay with MG Ti pipes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260645764986&fromMakeTrack=true I have personally inspected this bike and it is a 10 out of 10. The owner is a former Marine in Rollo MO. This is the bike I was going to buy before I bought my Rosso Corsa. Orangeokie

Please! Do not let my wife know that I posted that! That was before I discovered the joy of the LeMans!

Ha ha ha . . . The Rules! Yep, and I meant, 'cause its true! My wife keeps asking me if I want to buy a bike on which she can comfortably ride pillion. I think she is thinkng Harley (gag!) Of course I tell her, "sure" (throw me in that briar patch!) I tell her we could get a Norge and have alot of fun together. But she would not let me keep my personal pride and joy Rosso (even though with my work schedule I simply don't have time to ride.) But, NO . . . I can't keep the Rosso and buy a Norge as well. What's a man supposed to do? ha ha I will continue the fund raiser for this great forum. When football season rolls around (September) keep an eye out and lets all chip in and help Jaap keep this thing going! Orange
