  1. Just back from a week in Sweden, fabulous weather (round Halmstat), hot, just a couple of thunder storms and the some of the best biking roads I have ever ridden. How did it miss you?
  2. Google translation, seems quite good (the translation not the news) Google translation
  3. Think this is my 'this months screen saver'. Brilliant!
  4. With sunshine. More pics please
  5. Jaap is away in NI so jrt or another moderator could pick it up. and Wenzi110 - could you post somewhere you are wanted please, not here
  6. The reason? Strange but no ones been insulted yet. Can't see the relevence to motorcycle bear killers though
  7. Just wish we could see the last bit where they ended up in an expensive heap after running into each other made me smile though I have to admit
  8. Fun roads but you have to watch out for the sheep - the lambs love to run across the road back to 'mum', usually right under your front wheel
  9. Yes it pissed down from Hawes to Sedbergh and all the way back to Skipton. It was bad last night and this morning. Hopefully it will all be gone for the meet in NI - good luck folks. You'll have a great time whatever the weather
  10. A good ride out in the Yorkshire Dales today - Nidderdale, Masham, Middleham, Coverdale, Wharfedale, Wensleydale and on to Sedbergh and the rain. Jaap and two Johns Heading for Pateley Bridge and Nidderdale An old rope works Looking back into Nidderdale Gouthwaite Scar House Dam - all quarried stone Scoping Masham market after first cafe stop Coverdale at the back of Little Wernside 1200 Sport has to work hard on these roads Over to Kettlewell in Wharfedale The Yorkshire Wooly Temptresses deciding whether the Sport is a turn on Looking back towards Hubberholm Looks like he scored
  11. Great fun Murray real feel good stuff
  12. If that's the case the Atom is a total Lard Ass - needs at least 1bhp per kg for some proper speed.
  13. It was good to fun to see Clarkson tempted in his Vietnam bike ride - he actually enjoyed it for a time. However he is a twat but losts of people like him so sadly he is influencial. If you do need to see a bike putting it over on 4 wheels I did post a super motard 450 Yam versus a Subaru Impretsa rally car some time back. Great fun! The motorcycle will always do it for me anyway
  14. Time to face it mate, the car will be quicker - on the track. I really don't think a litre bike will make any difference. If I remember correctly even go carts were faster on the track than GP bikes. The difference is in the bike's favour on the highway, away from the lights and through traffic. And of course a bike is always cool
  15. Don't know how you will fit it all in. Could meet you at Elvington at the Air Museum and ride with you from then on. There are lots of alternatives for roads, countryside, food and places of interest and no big towns. Just state you preferences or leave it to me, no problem.
  16. Jaap, Should you wish, I would be delighted to be a guide on the York to the Lake district section - local knowledge can be useful. I would also like Guy be pleased to offer you a room but my place is in North Leeds. Sadly no garage space overnight (stuffed with my toys) but I have a cover and a fairly secure yard. John
  17. If I didn't read all this stuff Hubert, I wouldn't have known that instead of being the delight and pride of my life, my Guzzi is a heap of poorly assembled, badly maintained and haphazardly adjusted shit. Thanks Guys
  18. So how much more fuel do these 'swelling' tanks contain? Do they fetch a premium from the Iron Butt crowd? How long will I have to wait until my tank has significantly increased in value? Expanding minds ........
  19. I have a bit of a dilemma here ratchethack - curiosity makes me want to know more, but I really don't think I should. A bit like ordering the Mega Donner Kebab with extra chilli sauce after a few beers, delicious till half way through, then progressively worse until you really regret eating the damn thing the following morning. Think I'll leave the hand starting of the Guzzi to others
  20. Maybe that is the next big challenge There must be a method, over tighten one valve clearance, roll back onto compression, retard ignition with Myecu, couple of brawny lads either side applying spin with no fear, 'et voila!!!' the Guzzi rumble.
  21. How real men start their Guzzi
  22. Have you seen one in action Steve? How effective has it proven to be?
  23. Have a look at this amazing recovery system - the Swedes are astonishing! http://www.comingthrough.se/
