  1. Squid indeed. Call him whatever you will...just color him F A S T !
  2. I was looking for Sete's bike, but didn't see any with knobbies. Beautiful bike. I wish them all luck.
  3. They are!
  4. I knew that of course. Just thought due to that unfortunate event, you might want to optimize the ground clearance. Glad to hear of your progress.
  5. The MotoGP article was very sobering. But then the asians are masters at posturing to gain position (status). I hope that's what's going on, but there sure is a bunch of former MotoGP riders slated in the WSB series. Thanks for the post, Jim
  6. That could be an interesting show. Watching Rossi race a Vespa.
  7. By the way Gil, You may want to trim that stop in half. It will give you a little more ground clearance on your side stand. Isn't that what started this whole misadventure? See you soon
  8. If you lived in California, I'd suggest that its the winter formulation of what goes for gas out here . The add oxidants in the winter months from November through April I believe. Good luck solving your pinking
  9. It was good to start the morning with a chuckle. Thanks.
  10. Nige, As the name implies "Brutale". Its not supposed to liik beautiful like the F4, its supposed to look brutish. I like them both, for different reasons. Happy trails
  11. Beautimus bike Hal.
  12. Ooooh! Now thats what I call a clean installation. Hang the costs. Time to paint it black and then ride.
  13. I'm with dlaing on the "hard" break-in. Although I bought my MG used with 1569 miles on the clock, I broke my Honda in using the "motoman" break-in method. See http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm And have not regretted it in the least. I haven't experienced any of the reported problems other owners have. Maybe I'm just lucky Good luck with your new Goose
  14. Let me get this straight. You mean some people don't ride in the winter? Don't they allow studded tires this time of year? How about a small plow off of a John Deere bodged onto the front end? I mean I've managed an outrigger on the Scura for Eureka's weather You, who are not still riding, have my sympathies. Best wishes for a short winter
  15. My FWIW, I am at a place in my life where top performance of my motorcycles is not the highest priority. Running smoothly and reliably is more important. If I were into a lot of track days and other performance venues, I'd be more inclined to look for a better breathing system. Even though there's more than enough relative humidity in Eureka, I never found the OEM paper filters lacking. I'll stay with what the manufacturer deemed most appropriate for the "average" rider. Happy trails,
  16. Ben, I'm lusting after your Fuente Opus Opus X. I've never had the opportunity to try one. Happy New Year.
  17. Amen, brother Forrest.
  18. Interesting areticle on Motorcycle Daily today. http://www.motorcycledaily.com/17december05_paolo.htm
  19. I don't think an extended warranty is possible. I purchased the bike online from Texas and am the third owner. While I'm on the topic, what is with all the used, low mileage MG's. Last week there was a '97 Daytona RS with a 176 miles on it! Thanks to all for the feedback.
  20. Fellow Scuristi, I took delivery of my Scura in late August with 1569 miles on the clock. This is my first MG. Yesterday, I did a little run up to Brookings, Oregon from Eureka; about 235 miles round trip. The bike ran flawlessly. I now have 3300 miles on the clock. Here's my concern(?) : To date there is no sign of flaking of the black wrinkle engine case paint, the clutch works smoothly and the bike runs like a top. My warranty expires Monday (Dec 19th). Are there other Scuras that aren't having any of the numerous reported problems listed on this forum? TIA,
  21. Only a 6 mile commute in Eureka. Temp in the high 30's. Just put the liner back in my JR jacket. On amother note only 6 more days of warrenty on my Scura. Presently at 3035 miles on the clock (I've almost doubled the mileage since I purchased the bike last August). Cheers
  22. I've got one of Edge's protectors and its a quick and easy install. Recommended to those who'd rather ride than putz around fabricating when a cheap alternative exists.

    Pedrosa...

Maybe its because he practises medicine on the bikes he rides. He gives a dose to Nicky, he gives a dose to Max, he gives a dose to Sete.... Or maybe he has a PHd in Riding. There's a thought!

    Pedrosa...

I have high hopes that Pedrosa will be able to provide some serious competion his first year Moto GP. However, his size could work against him. The big GP bikes are twice as heavy as a 250cc bike. Would also like to see Casey Stoner make some serious inroads too. No shortage of new talent. Next season promisies many possibilities. I wait....
  25. Personally, I can't get enough MotoGP. Thanks for the post.
