  1. I wish that my bikes would only cough when they got to 3000k RPM's Happy New Year
  2. GED, My money's still on the battery or connections. Ground is prime suspect, then the connection to the starter. Good luck, I know how frustrating finding a short/loose connection can be.
  3. Thanks for the idesa, Dan. I'll look into the pinched wire thought. I didn't remove the switch from the sideplate during spring replacement, so hopefully I didn't allow the ball to fall out and become lost.
  4. Time to consult the gurus of Guzzidom, I recently replaced (second time) my shift return spring and shift arm on my Scura. Since then the neutral light is on constantly. At first I thought I had a bad connection on the sender, but I've satisfied myself that I have a good solid connection. Any thoughts as to what I did wrong? By the way, this last broken spring was the Cannon Racecrafter aftermarket variety. It lasted all of 1000 miles. Its still hard for me to swallow that its breaking due to the spring boss being 16mm instead of 15mm. Thanks for your insights.
  5. Good one, Joe
  6. Amazing find Art. I guess I'll go back to my dreaming now. Thanks for the respite.
  7. Gary, For some reason I can't run the search engine right now, but there is a cheap BMW lens that is a perfect match. Perhaps you'll have better luck than me with a search here. Ciao
  8. Sorry, this is long gone.
  9. Ratchet - Thank you for remembering. Weazel - Godspeed!
  10. Hey Greg, Is there anything new to report on the turned steel flywheels and single plate clutches you were going to offer? Thanks
  11. Greg, I've PM'd you and called MI and left a message. Unless the Ram unit is substantially cheaper, I'd prefer to go with the cutdown steel flywheel and single plate. I'm ready whenever you are. Thanks.
  12. Hello John-Mark, Are you saying the Ram after market clutch and flywheel are worth the $ or are you referring to the cut down steel flywheel and single plate clutch?
  13. Any news yet on the labor costs, Greg?
  14. Okay Greg, What would option number 1 cost, roughly? Is this something your shop could do? I assume there's no additional modification to the tranny necessary(?). Thanks to all who offered suggestions.
  15. Listers, I may have waited too long to make the jump, but am looking for the Ram replacement single plate clutch and flywheel for my '02 Scura. I have tried the major MG sources and can't find any available. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. TIA
  16. Scott, You didn't say how the arm is activated. At my place of employment, we use a magnetic ID scanner to access the parking lot/building. This way, it doesn't matter if you're riding or driving. Of course suggesting a solution that is going to cost money to implement is going to be dicey with management. You could point out the safety factor and put them on notice that there is a potential for injury. Sometimes, management actually wants to provide a safer workplace, including parking areas. Good luck.
  17. Ahhhh! That's better. I missed the redskins

    Back Again

    Welcome back, Big J :mg:
  19. Given that I'd do most anything to experience that kind of speed/thrill; its not hard to understand what gives us bikers a similar (but very different) kind of thrill. Thanks for the link
  20. Well done, Gyles. And congratulations to you and your team. Hoping your "long season" of waiting goes quickly, like your Daytona.
  21. Mike, Having owned a '95 SS 900 sp and now a Scura shod with Continental Road Attacks comparing the handling of the two is a no brainer. The Duc wanted to kill me too! I installed a Storz steering damper and , although that made a huge difference, there is still no comparison between the two. The Scura is on rails. Advice from the more MG astute on this forum has been forthright, informative and usually, spot on. If your tire pressures are correct, I have heard of the BbattleAxes having problems on other bikes, on other forums, ala tank slappers. If all else checks out okay, try a different tire. Good luck
  22. Off with HER cowling
  23. Hey Orangeokie, Yeah, thats a purty bike alright. Love the red. I was a 22 year old fresh out of the USAF with a new '73 Bonnie just like yours back then. Lots of memories with that bike. Some great, some not so good. Did yours go through clutch cables in 3K miles too?
  24. Beatimus Ben Did you also get the matching helmet and leathers? There are standards that need to be upheld. Well done. Sounds like a pretty good price too. Be careful breaking it in on those new tires.
  25. Really nice pic's. Thanks for the post.
