Thanks. TX . I will follow your advice as soon as the new screen arrives.

now, you ve made me thirsty!

Do you know how much the stucchi tail rack costs? Ive heard its the best one...
-
I called him , he did say they can duplicate the screen if I send him the broken one and as you say make it taller, etc. sounds like an excellent company, I found a new original from MPH cycles for $89. and decided to go with that since they had it in stock. It wouldnt be a bad idea to have gustaffson make a duplicate in different heights for future needs though.....

I dont think you will go wrong with what you did, Ive got the racecrafter spring on my workbench and plan to put it in and file down the boss if its 16mm. no matter what MG says, I think this is the most reliable setup.

thanks for the link Dean I checked with them, they only have a replacement screen for the older stucchi fairings,on the v 11 sports..

the windshield on the carbon fiber fairing on my v 11 sport( same fairing as on the rosso mandello, and scura I think) has developed some cracke at the mounting holes, does anyone know if anyone makes an aftermarket replacement windshield for this fairing, or can I only get it through moto guzzi? thanks.

I dont see a crease anywhere on my right can on my ti's what area exactly are you referring to the end plate or the titanium can itself?
-
Thanks Bill, I will up the psi on my tires as you recommend, Rick.

Hmmmm, 16mm? thats odd. I thought thats what caused the spring to bind and break I was going to tear mine apart and file it to 15mm IF its 16mm. Now what?

The stock front bridgestone bt020 on my 03 v 11 sport naked is almost down to the wear bars at only 5500 miles, the same tire in the rear is still in very good shape, Im surprised the front wore out so quickly, I am not an agressive rider, and keep the air pressure at around 30 psi, I mostly do sport touring type riding. what tire brand have you folks had good luck with and gotten good mileage out of? I ride mostly in dry conditions( It never rains in Arizona) Thanks!

Thanks for the link, those joe kenny guards sure are pretty! are they larger than stock as in they stick out more, or are they the same size as stock, but just stronger? -
looking for more effective head guards
bigbikerrick replied to bigbikerrick's topic in Technical Topics
Thanks for the reply, Ive seen the rosso puro mushrooms, they seem to offer good protection, but I would prefer something that I could find in the USA, if possible. also they are kind of pricey, are they not? -
Ive read that the stock head guards on my 2002 v 11 wont protect very well if I drop the bike. anyone know where I can find larger,or better designed head guards at a decent price in the USA? thanks!

Hey Glenn, If I were you I would not only switch to RL , SPHeavy, but also replace the existing Guzzi springs with the ones made by cannon racecrafters. I got one from them for my 02 v 11 naked, and had it in 2 days, less than 20 bux shipped from oklahoma. I havent installed it yet, but its stronger than the Guzzi spring. Im not sure if they make all 3 springs, but they do make the one that is known to break. you might as well change it since you have it apart. BTW, how is that magni sfida treating you??
-
What do you mean by a pile of wore out parts? do you mean your v 11 is no longer usable? man., that sounds scary! Say it isnt so, say it isnt so...
-
Hi Glenn, as nogbad stated, you can easily remove the left side cover of the tranny in about 1/2 hour and take a look at the gear change mechanism which will come out with the cover. check all three springs in there ,see if one has broken. also the adjuster behind the acorn nut may do the trick for you. with the grinding and severe issues you had I would open up the sidecover and take a look inside, though. do a forum search here for" transmission spring " there is a wealth of information ,complete with pictures which will be very helpful to you., Rick.

Hello Folks, Im debating whether to spend the money on a Guzziology book. I have the V 11 sport repair manual on CD,and between it and the awesome people on this forum, many who are absolute v 11 sport Gurus, Ive been able to do everything ive needed to so far on my 2002 naked (the bike ,not me) Ive heard the Guzziology is mostly for people that have some of the older bikes, is this true? , or is there alot of useful information on our late model v 11 sports in it? I guess Guzziology is kind of hard to find and pricey also.

Kawasaki 1500 nomad fi, what a road king should be and mucho cheaper. I have a 2000,and I guarantee you ,your honey wont complain about the accomodations. you should be able to pick up a nice one for 6000-7000. Its as dependable as an iron skillett, and a nice looking bike IMHO.

No problem, Michelle Valures phone number is 678-238-0902 tell her that she has a great reputation on this forum, and that we are "talking about her" she will be thrilled! Richard Duarte.

Ive been dealing with Michelle at MGNA to get the warranty on my V 11 sport transferred to my name and to get the carbon fiber accessory set as a settlement for my black engine paint and she has done a fantastic job of helping things go smoothly, even served as an advocate for me calling the dealer to follow up on paperwork, etc. She has been very helpful, and dedicated to providing me with outstanding customer service. We are lucky to have such a person "pulling for us" at MG. I just wanted to let all the Guzzisti here in the USA know Michelle is a person you can count on to help.

Would that backpressure be in the fuel line entering the pump,or leaving the pump towards the fuel filter? Im not sure where the pump would be mounted up front, Ive never seen the pump on a centauro. There doesnt seem to be much room on the V 11 up front......
