  1. Thats a lovely green guzzi you got, IMHO the green/red are the epitone of the classic italian cafe racer! everytime i see one, I want to repaint my "grigio". BTw what brand of tank bag is that, ?it seems to fit real nicely.
  2. I must agree with you, Senor, Im on my second Camry now a 99 it has 100K miles and still has the original battery! 7 friggen years old! the only thing ive done to that car besides oil, & fluid & filter changes is replaced the front brake pads. thats it! I shit you not. It still runs/looks like new. My first camry a 89 I sold with 240 K miles to a nurse I worked with, she ran it well over 350 K miles, I have a friend that does home inspections all over the state of arizona that has a tacoma pickup, 4 cyl, auto with 400+ K miles these Toyotas are absolutely amayzing!
  3. Maybe if the helmet manufacturers take this study into consideration they can design a future helmet that is a full face but with a chin bar that is of an energy absorbing design, meant to collapse in a controlled manner, possibly made out of some high tech foam type material, as opposed to rigid composite as we currently have. That way the chin bar can absorb the impact and not have it transmitted to the basal skull/brainstem area ,but still "save face" so to speak. I have worked as an RN in Emergency rooms for 26 years, and from what ive seen, I think personally il stilll take my chances with a full face .
  4. You are a much more aggressive rider than me, Steve. I don think I will be grinding down my boots( new balance tennis shoes) The roads around my neck of the woods are all chip seal, and very dirty. cant find a place to lean the goose as much as yours!
  5. Thank You very much, Todd. Thats a whole lot of good information to help in my search. what is it about the newer than 96 cars that is not for the DIY? I was thinking that something a little newer would be better over the long run.... I keep my vehicles a long time. I recently sold a 96 saab 900 that I bought new and put 280K miles on it. Thanks Rick
  6. Todd, Ive always wanted to purchase a Benz, but heard that they are not dependable, and complicated to work on( I do all my own wrenching) is the dependability thing since chrysler"s affiliation? or is it not true? I cant afford a new benz on a nurses salary, which model do you recommend I look for as a good reliable used MB? ( best bang for the buck / depreciation-vs- age) Thanks Rick.
  7. That is a work of art, I love it!
  8. Steve, the shifter is ok to me , it hits my foot around the first joint of my great toe on upshifts, and i can live with that. how is the position of the brake pedal for you? Rick.
  9. Im sure someone here will correct me if im wrong, Steve, but it doesnt seem to me I can mount the ti cans with the stock(lower) hangers, due to the angle the pipes exit the cans, its pointing upwards. Im referring to the pipes that slip onto the crossover.
  10. does anyone know if the tekno bags will fit with the MG Ti high mount exhaust? Thanks!
  11. Hey Ken, you can remove the bolt that mounts the left side peg and mount it in the more rear set bolt hole where the evoluzione kit mounts it then go for a test ride and see how the shifter placement is for you, before you buy the kit . Thats what I did and it was fine for me ,but I have size 11 clod hoppers. I rode about 100 miles with the left peg lowered and the right in the stock position, just to check it out. actually when I put it back in the stock hole ,it felt wierd! I just ordered the kit from Moto International today,(nice folks there). Im pretty sure Im going to like this mod just fine,as my knees are too old to be so scrunched up. BTW I also put cbr 600 pegs on my bike ,to reduce the vibration, and they are real comfy as well.
  12. Im pretty sure that bike is a suzuki TM 125 I had one just like it when I was 18, peaky little sucker, but what a sweet rush when it got on the pipe! I was the "neighborhood terror" on that screaming yellow bumblebee! :-))
  13. Ok I give up...... What is it? I like it though. looks kind of like an old E type jaguar.
  14. I have a 97 F-150 extended cab for rainy days ( It never friggen rains in Arizona!) thats why it only has 55K miles on the odometer. My wifes car is a 99 Camry, we also have a 2001 nissan altima. The last car I had that I was really enthusiastic about was a 1986 SAAB turbo. now , Im into bikes for fun, cars are just a "tool".
  15. Yep, theres "something there" once bitten by the bug, you are hooked, they can abuse you, treat you like a little beatch, kick you to the curb, slap you silly, treat you like a red headed stepchild, and we still will take it as long as we can get our daily fix of that wonderful , torquey, sweet sounding piece of italian art. I admit it , Im a sucker for punishment!
  16. 3 YEARS?? man thats ridiculous! Do you think we will actually ever get our parts, or will MG simply wait things out until we sell our bikes, or just die of old age!
  17. Ive been waiting since august 05 for a pair of rubber intake boots that are a warranty item, still nothing. Rick
  18. Thank you for the post, Sir. I too have fitted the z 6,s on my 03 and am very happy with them so far. awesome tires.
  19. Thats too bad about the Nashville dealer, Im hoping the same doesnt happen to my dealer in Tucson, they are too good to lose, and the owner is a true MG enthusiast.
  20. Ive done it once with just the crossover in place, sounded like a top fuel dragster! I set off about 6-7 car alarms in my neighborhood. Its fun being a middle aged juvenile delinquent....
  21. It runs perfect, I have the same sized shim in there as came from the factory, the thin smear of silicone should not have changed the gap at all.
  22. I just cleaned everything up and applied the thin layer of sealant, I didnt even know there was an o ring, I didnt see one on the sensor when I removed it, or on the block....maybey they forgot it at mandello? either way its leak free with the layer of silicone.
  23. Carl, My 2002 1/2 naked had the same slight seepage you describe, I simply pulled the sensor out, cleaned everything with brake cleaner spray, applied a thin coating of silicone gasket maker to the block mating side of the soft aluminum spacer/gasket and bolted it back in, perfect seal, absolutely no leaks after 4500 miles. no big deal!
  24. I agree with you, CF is mostly a looks thing. I personally like the look on our bikes, especially on the gray or black bikes. I think the CF fairing/front fender adds a nice look to my grigio naked. when I had a rosso mandello I personally wished the CF parts were made in that pretty red color instead of the CF, hey, but thats just me...
