    I hate to spoil or your excitment re the 8 valve motor but I bet no running example exists, it's just another Guzzi prototype. After 30 years of riding Guzzi's you get used to factory boasts but we all know the reality. Poorly assembled motorcycles with shocking paint finish and peeling chrome!

    Do you have an alarm fitted, sounds like your battery is draining to earth somewhere, Your hawker should be about 14.4 volts when charged fully. I replaced my spark with a hawker last year but found that it was the alarm causing all the problems, and not the battery.

    Put on a valeo the original sport starter with seperate solinoid is crap the bosch later one is okay can be rebuilt cheaply. Valeo has a higher output
