    G&B Bolide X

Nice one, but on the G&B website there has been absolutely no news for two years. It appears to be a lost cause. Whats the situastion? I heard one of the guys is out? Another thing: The Supertwins pop up here from time to time, but what about the Furia? Anyone her who has one? I'd like one (as well as 1001 other bikes....).
  3. Indeed. I saw my first Griso on a bike show on Friday, got to sit on it and could vividly imagine how it felt to drive by recalling your report. It was a lot nicer in the flesh than on pics, but the upright position needs changing. Straighter and a bit more narrow bar will be better, I think. But I liked it a lot. Especially from the right. EDIT: But I must say, the Griso was stashed away in the dark corners of the exhibition, and seriously usptaged by the amazing Benelli Tornados and TNTs on the same stand. No Breva 1100, which shows lack of commitment by the Scandinavian distributor, I think. The best show there was BMWs huge one, their new R1200S was simply gorgeous in silver and fit me like a glove (except for the price....nearly 33 thou dollars...) Got to see the Ducce Sportclassics as well. Loved the look, but couldnt live with the riding position. Im too tall to drive a Ducati. And too fat, – I mean muscular... Got to poke around the Buells for a while. I like them a lot, especially the lwb streetfighter, but I found several clues to dubious build quality on them: cracked plastics, loose gas handles...hmm...
  4. Robbie Coltrane has also done a series on old, big and strange machinery (Trains, Planes and Automobiles?), that ran on BBC Prime (I think) a couple of years ago. Apparently he likes it old and big. Not difficult to understand when you see the size of him.
  5. its normal. I am just writing this to remind myself not to drink too much coffee today as it will make me sick and woozy. actually its too late... so, what do you do if the cock just dont want to come in again??
  6. thats two completely different paths: streetfighter or supersports. How can he choose? I guess he doesnt mind revvy high strung engines... I spoke to a guy riding a MV Brutale last summer, and he said it was abs fantastic as long as you kept it above 7000 rpms at all time. sounds a bit frantic to me. but its jewel-like in appearance. The Busa? Wasnt that made for japanese midget testdrivers who could just fit behind the screen, in order to break 300 kph? Test drives today (european) renders it useless (compared to other bikes) if you're above 170 cms and run curves as well as straights. The game has moved on. Its an old dragbike. In Norway, you cant get rid of them these days. The Griso will obviously be too laidback for him, that bike is for overweight grownups like me. The Monster is a very old design, despite the addition of ever bigger engines. Recent reviews suggests its beginning to show its age. Ducati desperately needs a restart for the streetfighter range, but cant afford it. I'd rather buy the Sport Classic or Paul Smart, because of the styling alone. I say he choose between the MV Brutale and the Gixxer, and if I had that choice I would choose the Gixxer. Amazing levels of tech, as fast as most 1000 ccm's and as nimble as a 600. And when he is finished with revving the shit out of that bike and scaring himself, he can buy a Griso.
  7. Monkey No. 3 in Planet of the Apes?
  8. Well, this is pretty much what Ive been told that HTM found out. The Titan ECU fixes the midrange hole (so does the PClll), so one doesnt necessarily need to change the x-box to free things up. The MG Tis is pretty much straight through pipes (bloody great hole!). Free flowing crossovers will then help boost power from midrange up. Plus adding a lot of PHP (Perceived Horse Power) because of the noise :-) Isnt that something like lesson one in tuning? Im no expert, but I've read the stories. I am doing the "Stucchi-thing" to my Audi in a while: race catalysts and two inch exhaust, and expect a lot more whallop from 3500 rpm upwards, and a bit less oomph low down. Now it is standard and pretty restricted and explodes from 2000 rpms but dies above 4500... Same story, but on my bike I am comfortable with midrange muscle cause I drive like a little girl. Not so with my car...

    Lobbying

Have you seen Christians LeMans in the Gallery section? Goddam, thats a vicious looking Guzzi. I have never really liked the Lemans fairing, but this ones got my heart pumping. Big him up, guys!! Jaap, reading this? http://www.v11lemans.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=435
  10. You obviously forgot no 26: threesome with japanese twins...
  11. repeating myself here, but: HT Moto in Germany tested the V11 with the MG Titan pipes (quite similar to the Mistrals, I think?) in various combinations a couple of years back. They found that for regular driving one should leave the stock expansion box, which gave the engine a more relaxed and grunty feel. The exp. box had the overall best effect on both torque and hp, except for the highest of revs. With Stucchis you got top end power, but lost ooomph in the low revs. I used my stock exp. box and was very pleased with the result. loads of ooomph, but I still have a Mistral x-over which I will try in the spring.
  12. who with an IQ higher than their shoe size would dare to testride a Boss Hoss. the name alone suggests violent emptying of bowels....

    Long way round

John Boorman also directed the ultimate classic Deliverance, where four guys met some unsavoury hillbillys in the woods. Duelling banjos and all. Thats a MANs movie...

  15. seems like you will mostly be drinking coffee the rest of the day too. I have expanded my list of deeds; from now on I will mostly be listening to death metal on the earphones, to keep me awake....
  16. well, today I have mostly been drinking coffee...
  17. nice gesture, mr Barrett. your mind is always with those less fortunate, I see. as a gentleman I will step back and watch the spectacle unfold without interfering.

speak for your self, I take great pride in my youthful approach to life, women and beer
  23. thats why its recommended to do that in the morning, before you get your clothes on.
  24. strange why people work themselves into a frenzy about this little issue, when at the same time they ride V11s which we all know was put together by blind dwarfs with Alzheimers (not that I have ANYTHING against blind dwarfs with Alzheimers, mind you). Show ONE brand of motorized transport which is uninfested with small niggles at the launch of a new model range. My old Beemer which I bought new, dribbled oil all over itself and the garage floor and both the brand new 1200GS and the K1200S has had recalls. MG has with tiny investments (compared to BMW) launched a brand new line of models and been close to perfection from the start, wr to build quality. the fact remains that MGs were and are heavy, reasonably simple and completely overengineered beasts with a big heart. if one is that obsessed with build quality and durability one should buy something big ancient and japanese, like the Kwak 1200 ZRX or the Suz Bandit 1200, but definitely not Italian.
