  1. This allen head looks like a piece of 14mm hex stock about 1 1/4 inches long. You stick this tool in the hole and turn it with one of the open end wrenches that fits. The alternative would be to buy a 14mm allen wrench which is about 9 inches long.
  2. The rear axle nut and the combination wrench in your tool kit work together nicely to remove the manhole cover. This will allow you to gain access to the filter. You will need a socket with the right number of flats to remove the filter element. Use due diligence (be very, very careful) when reinstalling the manhole cover. It is very easy to cross thread.
  3. A couple years ago my bike went down and broke off the screw that makes the switch. After hearing the sidestand rub the pavement a couple times I promptly replaced that screw. On another note. Some earlier bikes, the Daytona and the Quota, for instance, have a different screw upon which the sidestand pivots. This screw has a doohickey that sticks up and puts a bend in the spring such that as soon as you lift the bike the sidestand pops up. Your bike looks nice. I wonder where I can get my covers painted red or possibly gold.
  4. 3 1/2 quarts is too much. I only use 3 even when I change the filter. You should remove the excess or it will get removed, the most likely path being through the air box. You might be able to draw off the excess using a turkey baster through the fill port. I use the same oil and my oil comes out pretty black although I do not think it is a charactaristic limited to dino oil.
  5. I've been told that 95% of those tire chunks you see on the road are NOT from retreads.
  6. My wife likes jewelry and anything to do with butterflies. So I got her a necklace and a pair of earrings. I got her a butterfly display as well. http://www.butterflypeople.com/art/butterflyart12x18.htm
  7. I'm pretty sure that snow blower has heated grips. Coolant is circulated through.
  8. The suspense is killing me. I haven't started mine since 20 October. Trying to control the urge to go home to see if it starts.
  9. No. This screen is much too big to fit the RM. Check out their sight. You might find one that is close. They might make a custom for you. You'll probably have to send your screen for a pattern for the bottom. Wintertime is a good time for that. http://home.aol.com/LGusta2587/
  10. Don't get the dark smoked one unless you only ride during the day. They make a very nice product. They even send you a specially ground drill and a piece of plastic to practice drilling on. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...pe=post&id=2602 I should have mounted it on the inside of the fairing.
  11. If they come up with an ice rink version they could call it the Zamboni.
  12. Nice pictures, Ben.
  13. You've found that trick too. I like the extra light given by using both the high and low beams. Even better since I replaced the bulb with a sealed beam. Mebbe I should put the battery and charger on my Christmas list.
  14. Nice pictures.

    Why So Slow?

I bought a brake lever here a couple years ago for half the price I was quoted at a MG dealer. http://www.motostrano-store.com/ducadclutbra.html
  16. YES!!!! I learned from riding in the Midwest that its wonderful climate can instill overconfidence in my braking abilities. I now have a broken collarbone to remind me I'm not as good as I once thought I was.

    Oil drip question

When this happened on my LeMans you could tell by the smell it was coming from the transmission. It was leaking at the back and I got it fixed under warrantee.
  18. I bought some bar end weights from Moto International about 3 years ago for around $50 that helped a lot. A $28 Vista Cruise did the rest.

    Ultra-Ouch!

    Moscow Oct 1.
  20. Check out www.mgcycle.com They have a tail rack (Stucci) that is removeable. Tell Gordon I sent you and he'll give you the same discount he gave me. I bought a Hepco Becker bracket that allowed me to transfer the bags from my California to the LeMans.
  21. There are a number of threads on this subject. At least one of them has the part numbers. You will need to do some mill wors as the pegs are about 1/16 inch too wide. They use 3/8 pivot pins rather than the MG standard 6mm pins. Do a search. In the "How To" section, I believe.
  22. Here are some pictures from the trip my wife and I took last year. http://www.kodakgallery.com/ShareLandingRe...40_279587573106
  23. I hope you don't think I jinxed the Breva October delivery. If I weren't such a pessimist I would be an optimist.
  24. Brass balls! It looks like there is a map or something on the ground they are staring at. By Jove, I think I've got it' They are looking at one of Carls' extremely large wiring diagrams.
  25. Actually, one of them was working oon his clutch lever microswitch and dropped the steel ball.
