Martin,
Your bike looks underloaded. I usually carry that much stuff to rallies although it is kind of spread further out. Have to make room for the wife on the back seat. Fortunately, the rear subframe does not appear to be cracked yet.
The broken out tapped hole in the sump spacer is not included in your report. I'll bet that won't be a freebie. A reputable weld shop should be able to fix you up.
http://www.competitionaccessories.com sells a film from 3M called Targa Tank Saver #27-702 is a universal 4 piece cover for $12.99 while #27-703 is a 12 x 12 sheet for $19.99
I picked up a protector strip like Pro Grip 5005 at Mid Ohio Vintage days last year for $15.00 that had a Moto Guzzi emblem at the top. It protects the tank from zipper scratches.
My small dealer closes on Mondays, charges too much for parts and too little for labor( in my inexperienced in business opinion....purely a consumer's view.)
While Florida does not get snow it does get other things. Hurricanes. Scorching hot humid summer. Little old ladies who drive 20mph looking through the steering wheel.
I'll bet it does. Changes like these tend to lean out the system. Mine leaned out a little bit just by changing the paper filter to a K&N rectangular element.
There is a thread in the "How to" section for removing the fuel tank. Look at the "Air Intake" thread in the FAQ section. I noticed a couple good pictures just doing a search for "pods."
I just bought a sealed beam for my LeMans an H6024 per "Headlight Knackered" post. Some alterations to the bucket needed. I'm anxious to see how well it turns out.
That is a sweet looking bulb. I doubt the 5.45" depth dimension will fit in the housing. Maybe just cut out the back where needed. But for $400 I think I'll keep the one I've got.
Crappy dipstick can be improved by rubbing the edges between the ad and fill marks with rough sandpaper.
Hope you did not overfill the pan. The level is supposed to be checked with the bike vertical and the dipstick is to be screwed all the way in. Evidence of overfilling will present itself inside the airbox.
My bike seems to be happiest with the oil level half way between the add and full marks.
Made my own out of a 2 x 12 and a piece of 1/4" plate 6" x 12". I put a bend on the end of the plate to act as a lip to hang on the edge of the tailgate.
