I find it amazing that 9 times out of 10 there is a simple solution to a, seemingly, complex problem. 6 years ago my California quit on the way to work. Towed it home and let it sit for a month. I assumed it was a TPS. Took the bike to a dealer who replaced one relay. Fixed. A 3 dollar solution to a complex problem.

They're talking about the eyes inside either end of item # 1. If mine came apart on the road I would probably continue to ride it. If it got intolerable I would wrap the inner sleeve with enough electrical tape to make it fit the hole. Voila!

The best theft deterrent decal is already on the tank just below the eagle. 30 years ago my 72 Honda 350 got stolen from my sidewalk parking place for the second time. Bought a Yamaha 650 and it lasted a year before it too got stolen from the same sidewalk. I bought an Ambassador which parked there for 2 years and it never got stolen.
