  1. We could be the 50%ers. Our Guzzis make 50% of their claimed power, are useable 50% of the time, 50% of them are subject to recalls, when you visit the dealer, he'll ask for 50% deposit for a part and you'll be waiting 50% of the coming year for it........one could go on. There's a V11 mission statement here somewhere.
  2. How much longer can we go on taking the piss out of Tenni owners without suffering a retaliatory strike, do you think?
  3. I don't think we'd beat theirs: theirs has the ring of Tenni truth about it!
  4. You're forgetting where I live: chicken nuggets won't do it for me. A gang hut's a good idea, though. I propose a "bog standard shitty metallic maroon V11 with black, flaky engine paint and some scratches" gang BARN. Should prove irresistible.
  5. I got one of those attachments for Christmas. I've been wondering what it's for.
  6. Thanks, Fernando. I don't expect you to change your schedule, but let me look at what you have given me and I'll mail you to say when or if I can meet up with you. a bientot Bob
  7. So....let me get this right. If I repaint my common-or-garden V11 with, say, red lead oxide, and print a certificate out for it, it'll be worth more money, right?
  8. Boys don't have those. Didn't you know that?
  9. No, it's a Ducati, but like Washington's axe: it's had a Guzzi frame, engine, transmission, forks, bodywork, etc substituted for the originals. Still a Ducati, though.

    Tenni Forum

Hey, I've just been over on the Tenni forum. They're talking about green paint, so get over there quick and catch some of the excitement!
  11. If I lived next door to "une limousine" like her, I would have little need to grumble.
  12. You have to admire the spirit, though.
  13. The only freely available tits here are mine: you wouldn't be impressed. Today we cured Serge of his restlessness. Two new Limousiin greys [hens] were brought home, christened Mitzi and Lulu. I also mended the faulty brake-light switch on my Triton and chopped a trailer-load of wood. Not a bad day. Now I'll go and look at my tits. It's a lonely life in darkest Limousin.
  14. Nice bike, looks nicely looked after. Hey, another Triumph man! Welcome.
  15. Sound!
  16. Wrong, Pete. When I was last living in Yorkshire we kept the whippet in the bath and put the coal in the outside toilet, where it belongs. Technically, I'm an alien in France. No-one has caught me probing the inhabitants yet, though.
  17. To get back to the original post topic [and with sincere apologies to all Tenni owners, now that I am experiencing the post-prandial calm and tolerance I was clearly lacking earlier], I have just looked to see the sort of Bridgestones I actually have fitted to the V11...........020s........Bugger! This means that I will now notice and come to dread every lurid slide, shimmy and bunny-hop that I took for granted as part and parcel of V11 riding before. Thanks, guys.
  18. Although it's mild, here, it's raining in between thunderstorms, and I'm fed up. I've just repaired the guttering outside the house, ferchrissake and touched in some gravel chips on the Armstrong [it got sort of cleaned yesterday]. Serge the cock is restless, too: he keeps knocking on the back door for titbits.
  19. I don't know what all the fuss is about with Tennis, I really don't: take a perfectly good bike, ruin the handling by fitting funny forks, paint the fairing snot green, give each one a number and then ask a huge amount of money for it.....what's that all about?
  20. How about shaft"ed"?
  21. The beer analogy is good. It's a bit like eating as well [i'm becoming very French - everything comes back to food and drink, sooner or later]. One should always get up from the table with the appetite for just a little more. And so with bikes: I've had one or two more powerful than my V11 but I don't miss them, or their power. I've just been out on my Armstrong, with its Dellorto equipped 500 Rotax which might make, oh, 30bhp at the rear wheel on a good day. The air was warm, the roads were slick with recent rain, and I had a thoroughly satisfying, and not slow ride. If it was the only bike I had, I would still enjoy my motorcycling to the max, and still want just that little bit more.....!
  22. I hate to be pedantic, but you Tenni guys have your own forum, don't you? It's a luxury we standard V11/philosophy/moth/global bitching etc enthusiasts don't share, and here you are, muscling in on us! My standard V11 uses whatever was on when I bought it, Bridgestone something or others. If they have air in them, they work splendidly, and seem to be wearing well [tread still visible].................or am I missing something again?
  23. There you go! Derivative to the last [this time, of Hemingway].
  24. Give me a point and I'll stop now.
