...and I now remember why I married her (the V11).
Linear power delivery -- Jap-quality transmission -- cache' -- I love the old broad.
The Firebolt has rocked my world -- and I now have two of the most complementary sport cycles in the world...
I'm a two-timin' SOB -- and I LIKE it!!!!!!!!!

Well, about six hours by car (4 by tenni?) but it's a straight shot; only two whore houses, a couple of gas stations, a LOT of rock shops(I don't know- this particular bit of Nevada culture evades me) and an Army weapons depot and you're there!
As for the tail rack, I'm not sure to be honest-the top box that attaches to it is an Aprilia unit, so that would be my guess- PO had it on there when I got the bike. I do know that it's pretty friggin heavy, though! (pulled it off for some electrical work).

Nosy bastards aren't you? Well....
What's a vacation if not a great story in the end.
Least you made the ferry!

Decent looking bike, I think- too much Multistrada in the fairing, though. (At least in that picture). By the by, I had a SECA 650 also- '85 I think, though. I had a hell of a time on it-that thing was way faster than it needed to be, with the suspension and brakes it had(or didn't have, rather). Ass end sure liked to kick out in corners though!

First off, us helo guys have nothing to do with the fixed wing side of things. Second, no- I'm not a wheelee sort of guy, with the exception of the errant Harley guy talking s@*t. Every once in a while, it has to be done. Third, a helo pilot is the kind of guy that starts of most stories with "no s#$t, there we were". Now, mostly, I was there and it wasn't that bad. But when the crewchief has to "straighten things out" so to speak, it gets interesting. Ladies and gentlemen, that is what I get paid for. College degree to break 'em, high school diploma to fix 'em. P.S...I love this job!!!

No matter how much it tempts you, trying to adjust your suspension on the 405 while trying to get out of L.A. at 70 mph is never, ever a good idea.

Heavy lift crewchief/loadmaster on that pig, before I transferred here. Now it's Hueys, Search and Rescue stuff in the mountains.
As for the bike, I've got this aerosol stuff that removes dead bugs, cleans and applies a (light) wax type finish, almost like a furniture polish. I use it on everything, and I keep it in the saddle bags with a soft chamois(sp??). I'll take a look and see what it's called when I get home tonight.

Has anybody had to mix up any of this "tenni green" paint? Got a little scrape to fix, and wouldn't mind one of those nifty chin spoilers either...might as well do it all together! Anyways, wondering what to do about getting the color mixed up.

That looks expensive...I used to have brakes like that on an old go cart I had, but mine was more a 2x4 with nails, not Vance&Hines!

I too, am curious about the circumstances involving the roundabout. We're all friends here

Unless you have a Tenni or a Scura in which case you have a snowball's chance in hell of getting more than a grand or two. Those poor bastards are busy trying to convince themselves of some "exclusive" membership in something or other in the hopes of creating some (read "any") kind of demand for their rat bikes.
cheers,
Rj
....160 Tenni's produced=exclusive. Puriud.

There's quite a bit of good riding here, actually. (I have been surprised) But yes, there is a lot of flat, open (and pretty much police-free) road as well. It's pretty diverse-Tahoe to the west, Virginia City southwest, Lee Vining, Mono Lake... and a LOT of great little bars and restaraunts in between.![:D](https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/uploads/emoticons/default_biggrin.png)
