IV'E done 286 k on 15 litre tank,filling taking 14.4 litre. is this down to a more efficient exhausting system? less db = fuel efficiency? Xtra power - db = fuel efficiency still lurnin.

time..when i was young my slippers were red,i could clik my heels over my head, now i am older my slippers are black, i walk down for the paper ,and puff my way back, i sit at the table and read the obits, if my name is still missing i know i'm not dead, so i have a good breakfast,and go back to bed.

While riding on clear rode after after passing some traffic, picked up pace conditions seemingly good road ahead free,into a right hander at 110 k to a incline, noticed man standing on side of road up ahead about 35 metres away,just as mind was processing the thought. why would would this bloke be standing there with his m/cycle,strange place to pull over.then why am i sliding up the road face down watching my bike sliding up to impact into his..well he'd come down leaving a trail of oil from crankcase which brought me down. we were both 300k into a trip from homes 250k apart, and both had converged into a well known m/cycle route to add pleasure to our ride and avoid motorway. my bike 2500 k old. his a very nicely restored 74 900 ss ducati. [when you ride motorcycles, you can expect anything to happen] and probably will,you can take every precaution under the sun. but shit still happens.

time to give up riding hogs for this dude.

i must say you are spot on. though i own a modern,smooth,right through the rev range,powerful motorcycle.ie cagiva x tra raptor, with precise handling,braking etc. i still yearn for something, and get a great buzz every time i ride my muzz 660 traveller,with vibes,inperfect handling,and somewhat lack of power. i don't know if its nostalgia or what,my age and what iv'e ridden most of my life. or perhaps i do miss the fingers going numb.but i've enjoyed the rides done recently on v11s.maybe perfect m/cycles become boring.as they are not what we really yearn for. [but the challenge, and nostalgia of days gone]
