  2. It's doubtful Lydia will be able to make it for this one,but I'll hold on to hope that it can be worked out.She really enjoyed the last one we attended.
  3. After missing the last two Raids,I'm all in for this one.Made the room reservation today.Looking forward to seeing you all. Dan
  4. I've got to concour with all the above comments. What a great time I had! The roads and weather were near perfect (Saturday that is) ,beautiful scenery, good food, talk, laughter, bike inspections and tech talk too.I can't wait until we can get together again. After looking at my tires when I got home ,I know I've never had them that heated up.They had that melted rubber look to them,it sure was fun making them get that way.
  5. This is one event you need to plan on attending at least once.I commented to my wife via cell, that I was in motorcyclist heaven. You'll see your first bike and many that you've never heard of.The track and grounds are world class, manicured to perfection. The museum is sensational, there's really too much to absorb in just a few hours. You'll meet many interesting people with their stories of that first bike or the rides they've taken.(I met Docc, his son Chase,Dave and Rick, they really liked my Green 2000 V11 Sport,Thanks!!)The swap meet area was pretty large.Triumph was offering Demo rides, hopefully future events will have other manufacturers participating also. As Docc said Moto Guzzi was well represented,I'd never seen so many at one place.See you next year,Dan
  6. My advice is at that price buy the bike.Yes, there are /have been issues with the V11's but there is a lot of help here and other forums. There was a recall on the transmission gear shift sleeves for 3rd &6th gear, and one for the connecting rod bolts. You should be able to find out if the work has been done, most owners of Guzzi's stay on top of maintenance. I bought a 2000 V11 Sport last October,I've had to deal with a couple of things. The tranny was missing shifts and acting as if the clutch was slipping, this was corrected by changing to Red Line Heavy Shockproof Gear Oil on advice from this board. The other issue was relay failure, this didn't leave me stranded, just without lights and tach function.I've replaced these with GEI relays from Dan Prunuske, hopefully these will take care of that, although others have made wiring modifications to isolate circuits.Adjusting the valves is a simple and straight forward procedure. I had been riding Harley's for 30 yrs. when I bought the V11 and still have 2 but they sit in the garage now because the V11 is so much fun to ride. Hope this helps and Good Luck with your decision, Dan
