well, must admit it was one hell of a awakening... 4 month and 18 month olds slept through it, fark knows how with shit falling around them. A few of the after shocks are centered right under our arse, but alls good, few bikes well damaged and some house less (old twin brick shit and new housing on re claimed land what were they thinking DUH) people. ohhh but my poor bike colection...

Na NZ made neptune cans, black stainless, very nice but easly marked. Other mods, the screen is a Oz import as a seagull flew through the origional so it is a darker tint and has a lip on the top edge to deflect a little higher and smoked indercator lenses with orange bulbs... thats bout it.

Well the wee shit has had bikes ramed down his throat, but hey I dont see him complaining. He raced from his mums tummy and he traveled to street meets and rallys... at 12 months he was starting and stopping the bikes... say 'weres the Moto Guzzi' to Toren and he stumbles flat out to the garage and points at the correct bike... here he is riding the guzzi last weekend (he needs to learn to keep the starter rolling as it dont start as easy as the other bikes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zgaq09Sc0hg Other vidios there of Toren on ate Buell, LC and a bucket racer

Yeah, Im buggered if I know why the Ballabio is so much faster... source in this case was http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/bikes/Moto%20Guzzi.htm how accurate I dont know? The reasioning IMHO is the 1100 sport is a 5 speeder (and my last guzzi) the gearing is taller I could get 90-100kph in 1st... this I would think means the bike takes longer to wind out in gears but manages a higher speed due to its over all higher gearing.

like I said, it would depend on a fairing, ours being the best set up for it... having maxed out a 11001 sport Id say 230kph (143mph)

140 mph is 224kph... our speedos stop at 240kph, im suprised ya MPH bikes stop at 140mph when the bikes can obviously go further?

Interesting, do you have a fairing on your bike?Im thinking a LeMans would do a beter speed than a bikini faird bike and that inturn should be faster than a nakid? so whats 140 mile in kilo meters? and ya right about the weight to power ratio too.

Well maxed my 1100i sport out at the red at 230kph... which is what the book says it will do, never maxed the v11 tho, do ya want me to? Once again a stock bike will only do what the book says, to gain more you would need to ulter the gearing and that aint so easy on a sharftie.

cheers for that, kinda wish I only read the 1st posts tho... cos now Im more confused. Anyways, I havent tried anything as yet cos the balance pipe had fallen off (to many tempory repairs) so I orderd new header and balance pipe gasgets (was concerned the leaks would up set tuning) all sorted now so will look into the balancing of the TB's in a week or so.

Im hearing ya, but the idle was down before the tune which only consisted of valve clearances, ecu checked for faults and TPS reset (done by shop) all rubbers check out sound, so Im hoping its just a matter of reseting the idle... just wasnt sure how much input the ECU has as far as idle goes with sencors etc? great info, thats what we need... all I have to do is find some one with one of them guage things you mention.

Now after a recent tune up to sort bak firing etc out I still cant get the bloody thing to idle nice. On cold start up some times it idles high some times it dosnt, either way it will drop back to stalling, same when hot one minite its idling ok next its bearly running again. Now I have tried the idle screws (as per hand book, purple arrow) but the left seems to do nothiong and the right wont budge. Whats the best way to set the bitch up, surley it cant be to hard? Ohh and whats the big placstic knob for? (green arrow) looks important but no mention in the hand book. No air leaks are aparent.

Hey fill me in here, the cross over you speak of, go back a few years and a replacment on the 1100i sport made a differance and most sports had the colostamy bag swaped for a x over. But the cross over on the V11 (04) is nothing like the old sports, its more like a aftermarket x over, in my 04 there is a gas sencer in the cross over, a replacment one like you say does it have a sencer in it? would I notice a differance with my bike?

Havent seen em in yonks, were abouts are you looking at getting them from? I use Neptune (Wellington) but unfortunatly they have turned turtle, a farking nice muffler they made to. So another option is Zorts, local to Chch they have a tunable baffel and removable spud... other wise if looking at an import then ya cant beat Mistral or Termie.

Huh what... sorry ' 0 angle TPS(150mv+-10). key on/eng-off/rod disconnected' is weel out of my leage... I gave the bike to the local MG dealer and he reset TPS to the book I asume.

Oops... not checked battery, regulator, grounds, etc, but will do The bike had a good tuning from the start last week, is beter but not as good as it should be. bike rides great from 3g up.

no, but over 3g engine runs well? being injected and run by the ECU I doubt timing can get out? would'nt think so or I'd expect issues over 3g. found a possible loose HT lead and the caps are a bit dirty inside, bike started good this morning and idled good tho a bit low in the revs... its just started pissing down a rather nasty cold wet day Id say so wont get a chamce for a test ride.

done at terminals: 1) 12.8 2) 13.2 3) 14.0 this tells me alls ok? Battery is std 04 Lemans my batt tender shows it strong and with 14v So to day I: checked all sencors, all seem good checked air filter, new and clean cleaned TB and linkages found a bit of movment when wrigling the shaft with linkages and springs on them under the right TB... that ok? checked rubber inlets, all good as new. changed the oil, now this was done not so long ago but was blacker than a black thing... what ya think due to running rich?

yeah sorry docc... thought that thread had wondered of topic a bit, and that was more about the mag drop at 2800rpm... this issue is more it now running like a bag a shit. checked and all seem ok thanks.

Hey all, further to my thread on the miss at 2800rpm... Well... things have deterated, the bikes at the shop now and the as it it very hard to start, shitty idle or no idle missing at all revs below 3000... the following has been checked and ok'd: TB ballance TPS checked valve clearances reset nill faults on ECU new plugs (existing were very sooty) any ideas why this thing is being a shit head

"other guy" you mean me? come on now no engine should be back firing through the carb and missing firing at TDC at any rev... shit around town if you crack the taps open like you sugest a bike should be riden then you would end up in the back window of a cage... come on man in town a gear change at 3000rpm is perfictly normale and at the rev you would not expect the engine to detinate causing a stall.

Thats the sorta info Im after, so those here with PC I expect you dont have this issue? and yeah I did notice some pinging last w/e. ahhh ha, ok let us know how the tune goes and what ya find, Im to sort the same out so will reply when I get the chance.

Now, no other V11 owners here have said they have this problem? is it normal (not my bad miss I am yet to sort but the mild mag drop at 28) now thats a good tast in cars, if only I could afford a TR5.
