  1. Hey no worries, Gwens bike started life as a black 04 Firbolt. A guy that owns his own bike shop mainly HD and Duc's brought it, now he lives in the middle of know were and brought this bike for himself as a BEARs race bike.... that is why it has no pillion pegs and has a custom paint job. It was finely regerested last year and the owner relised he had no time to race it so Gwen brought it from him with 4000k on it. It is awesome to ride, not the best to tour on as once above 120k there isent much wind protection, but then I am spoilt by the V11 fairing. Gwen loves this bike to pieces and I under stand why, I wouldent have one my self unless I could afford more than one bike, but every time I ride it I think I want one but then I am doing dumb shit on it like whelling past cars and burning rubber in the hills.... not ya every day ride, Buell rock
  2. Steve....... Steve mate, My missus has a Firebolt with factory race kit... and it is nothing like you talk about. The XB12r would be the smothest bike I have ever ridden, nothing has come loose on it and it would cream my V11 before I had it started, the Buell is bloody fast, it wheelies well in 2nd and most importantly it handles like a dream... I have ridden it on the track and in the hills and it is magic. However it does have a differant feel to it as you are so close to the frount wheel, it feels like it drifts a bit. The Buell stars 1st time and idles sweet, it has never staled. I rate her bike to the max (turnig circle is shittie as tho) it just makes me grin ear to ear..... so I really think that you had a lemon in this case.
  3. Bloody awesome movie people....... well I can relate to it more so, than the most of you guys as Invercargill (Munro's home town) is 5hrs ride from here. There is a lot of real kiwi humour in the movie, bloody funny as hell. Ya have to check it out if not cos a 62yr old Kiwi kicked US arse but the fact he built the bike up from a 1920's Scout.... modified it in his shed with very little tools, he made pistons from scratch and conrods from bulldozer tracks..... the bike was capable of 200+mph... my V11 can only scratch 230kph and Burt did this before I was born. I had the privilege of seeing and hearing the replica bike (built to the same specs) drag race Aussies fastest Indian (a 4 valve head) man...... the sound brought tears to my eyes...... see the movie. PS: I'll put some pics up tomorow when I'm at home, in the meantime you can view the bike here http://community.webshots.com/album/296325135CUQmiB
  4. It's what the book in the boot says to run it on.... having said that NZ fuel is amongest the worst in the world and 91oct often comes in at 89+/- 3oct Same, same, same......... Now the girlfriend comented to me her bike was doing the same (Buell XB12R) and I took it for a spin and yes it is just not as bad.... now the last to days I have ridden it has been very hot and we used the same fuel 91oct... we are leaving in the morning for a rally 500k away and will run both bikes on 98 or 96 were 98 isent avaible.... will report back next week. Cheers for all the help
  5. Awesome..... thanks thought it was a easy as that but Knowing my luck I bust it if I dident ask 1st.
  6. Ok.... the bolt is easy nuff.... but how do the fuel conectors release??? Bloody hand book shows how to remove the air filter..... but not the tank So are the 2 fandangle conectors quick release and have a self closing cock (no fuel spilage) or do I need the bolt cutters
  7. Only change is open pipes, but not to open.... they have been on since almost new and I havent had the pinking this bad till now. NZ fuel is shit..... so Ill try the higher oct, however it is the same shit as 91 but with more shit additives... my 1100i sport never pinked on 91oct, TPS.... interesting might have to look at that.
  8. Went for a spin over some local roads last w/e and for the 1st time noticed some bad engine pinking..... even from 4000 and 5000rpm it still does it, I use 91 octain like the book says, any ideas why this has just become??? I cant see that the timing has ultered..... ??? ps: the bikes just done over 4000km
  9. Cheers man, I have a similer adapter that I tried on the last MG but as you say its a 3 handed job.... so I gave up on that and went back to a snap on shnozzle, looks like I just might have to waight for the 1st tyre change.
  10. Yeah heard ya the 1st time thanks..... but what the hell is a 'schnozzle' ??? I have a flexy extention on a small grease gun that I use, works well on the rear two nipples. Bloody Itialians.... why change something that works ahhhh, next they will try hydo tappits which will not work correctly
  11. The thing is with my 1100i sport there was a hole biger nuff to get the grease gun through in the steel guard/ring that surounds the frount UJ. With this bike I cant even see the grease nipple theres only holes in the guard to remove the UJ bolts.... still puzzling me.
  12. I've a big ride comming up next w/e so decided I'd do a little oil n greasing... ok now I have the grease gun and nosel that I used on my 1100i sport but I'm buggered if I know how to get to the frount universal joint... any ideas guys??? Bikes a 04 V11 Corsa
  13. My 1100i sport used semeins and they were crap... but the V11 is ment to have a beter brand in it, looks just the same but with a differant name on it. anyway I have replaced the relays with #307 & #310 so time willl now tell. as far as E Woods goes well, they did take the bike in straight away and look at it, it even stoped on them, they said 'buggered if we know whats up' well I asked if we could replace the relays they said they should be ok...... So after a chat they decided to give me 2 relays (wanted me to pay for em at 1st) and I brought 2 more (not from them) so we shell see. All this only happened cos when I went to pick it up after they said its fine....
  14. thanks for that, Woods....... well hmmmmmm
  15. Ok... now I need ya help here for a minute thanks. my new 2004 Nero Corsa V11 has been giving me shit as you may have read already, but what I need to know is the order of the relays so as I can beter sort the bloody things out. Who does what? and which goes were? Thanks
  16. Yeah I saw a doco on the top 10 bikes the other day on TV and the V8 was mentioned, it was in the US... but by memory isent there some one building replicas there for anyone that has the money? was this one of those bikes?
  17. Yip... bugger it the V8 tank was aluminium and the fairings primer green... were as the 350cc bike was all green.... Heres a pic of the real thing the only time it has ever been out side Europe and we had it here in little old NZ (was even ridden round the track, what an awesome sound)
  18. Well...... like all the other bikes in those pic's I built the V8 by hand paint job included.... anyone spotted the balls up with that paint job ps: just found 2 more Guzzi's........ ohhh and a couple a old race bikes I just found in the wine cellar
  19. Ok.... so I've been holding out on ya's Just remembered I have a few more bikes out in the shead behind the house... what ya all reckon ps: spot the Guzzi's
  20. Awesom bikes the 668 and 750's, a mate has the 750sf very quick bike and very well thought out... I'd love to get my hands on a 750 formula
  21. MV MV MV MV MV MV..... all the way, now 4cyl's belong in cars as far as I'm concerned..... however the MV is pure poetry, yes please. re: ppl in my abode.... umm na on my own heres a couple of my past bikes
  22. WELL..... if ya want to talk garages, heres mine... and the house, it seems that all my mates and people I dont know like to use my joint as a storage shed over winter. Bloody sweet man, always had a soft spot for them wee puppies, and yours looks mint
  23. Hey would ya look at that... ya just up the road.... hey I'll be racing them stupid thins in Nelson on the 2nd Jan, come over for a look
  24. Ok now I know this is a V11 forum and as I cant find a 'off topic' dept here I have posted in this thread. Right... I know there must be V11 guys out there that ride aswell other than V11's, so what ya all riding out there, other Guzzi's or other brands? I ride... well race 2 buckets (is this done anywere else in the world apart from NZ & OZ?) 1st is my 77-80 Honda CB125Twin, modified frame and wheels was a worked motor but I blew that sucker up so now its stocko. The other bike is a home made frame based on a MT125gp bike (1977) and its powered by a Honda MB100, worked with a RGV carb and home built chamber. this bike has been clocked at 150kph and is bloody fun but tricky to ride but the CB is easy as to ride. heres a few pics #68 is the Cb & #83 is the MT
  25. Cheers all, as the bike is new then the shop wanted to check it out. Well...... bloody spagitti wiring, ya know what the shop rings and tells me the bikes ready for pick up... but they found no problems. So, I went to start the beast to leave the shop... and it dident start, so with a refiddle of the relays it started so turned it off went and put the old lid on went back to the bike... you guessed it wouldent start. More fuking bout and it started.... now they tell me they have no idea what it is... I reckon the RELAYS FFS, but I'm then told naaa mate MG fixed that prob ages ago. Up to spares I go and ask for a Bosch relay to carry as a back up... bastards wanted me to pay for it, well I dident and I have the relay.... so fuked if I know... any ideas peops
