  1. For Sport-Touring tires, the hot setup has been the Metzeler Z6 Roadtec. Dunlop's new RoadSmart is supposed to be really good, but I've not tried them yet... How long do you want tires to last? How sticky do you want them to be? That will help determine your choice. There are lots of good tires out there these days...

    Wierd tire wear

Did the previous owner attend trackdays with the bike. Depending on the track's layout, I could see this happening... Or, maybe he's one of those guys that "lives for the roundabout"...
  3. An all red 2004 V11 Sport is a beautiful thing...
  4. FWIW, I wouldn't buy a bike from you if it wasn't titled in your name. Where I live, the bill of sale and the name on the title have to match. You'll be sending up red flags to potential buyers. Speaking of red flags, selling a bike that you just "traded for" will probably be a red flag for many buyers. Why not have your buddy sell his Bonnie himself, then have him buy your Guzzi from you ????? Win-Win for you both and less work for you...
  5. I believe that the Bonneville will sell quicker. T100s are popular. As far as price of the two bikes goes, I'd suggest a little research to determine if you're really looking at an "even trade" with your friend. You'll be looking at title and licence fees if you make the swap, so account for that. Also the delay in getting the new title in your name if you make the swap.
  6. It's PAINT, fellas... Looks like anodizing, but it's PAINT...
  7. I don't know how interested I am in a "big" project right now, but tell me more!
  8. Visor Down is reporting a introductory price of 7,990 Euro for the V7 Classic. Same Euro price as the Nevada: http://www.visordown.com/motorcyclenews/vi...tures/4605.html The Nevada is 7990 Euro in Italy and $7,990 in the USA. Hopefully this means that the V7 Classic will be in the $8,000 ballpark if/when it comes to the USA.
  9. Nice !!! I was lusting after a 3C that was on Ebay a few months ago... Maybe one day...
  10. New video advertisement:
  11. I agree, Greg. Piaggio are nuts if they price it any more than a T100 Bonneville. Personally, I think it needs to MSRP in the USA at around $7,990. If they price them against the Ducati SportClassics in the $10,990 range, Piaggio may as well not even bring the bike over here...
  12. .15 and .20 are what's in the manual for my Nero Corsa...
  13. sad but true, guzzirider. my next sportsbike will probably be something like a Ducati 848... I'd rather have a Guzzi, so I hope we're wrong...
  14. Nice post hoytstaab... I agree...
  15. Steve, The V7 Classis specs out real close to a Bonneville. If Guzzi prices the bike with the Bonneville it will sell. If Guzzi do a big block retro using the Tonti frame it will be another $15,000 Guzzi. Whoopie... Just what they need in thier bloated lineup... I can tell you that I would buy a V7 at $8k and be a happy camper. I would be buying a nice middleweight standard. Not a racebike or competitor for Ducati's SportClassic line. Guzzi SHOULD be building a bike "like" the V7 Classic with the big block engine. The Bellagio should have this bodywork instead of the mis-mash that they gave it. That doesn't change the fact that Guzzi need a stylish and cool entry level machine in the lineup. The V7 Classic fits that bill.
  16. Bezzi fantasy art.
  17. 180/55-17 IS the OEM "size"... If you look at some tires, espcially Bridgestone, you'll see that they spec OEM tires for each manufacturer they supply tires for. For instance, there are five 120/70-17 fronts and five 180/55/17 rears on the BT-014 fitment list. http://www.motorcycle-karttires.com/glamou...&LookupID=9 As far as replacing the OEM tire with a different model, I didn't like the Pirelli Diablo on my Nero Corsa. I also needed something with a longer tread life. That's why I went to the Metzeler Z6 Roadtec and may try the Dunlop RoadSmart. The bike rides and handles great on the Sport-touring rubber... P.S. My Sport 1100 came with Michelin TX-15/25 tires in 1996. They are no longer made. What would YOU do in a situation like that?
  18. A chance of what ???
  19. You're joking, me thinks... Who would want a front 100/90-18 and a rear 130/80-17 on a V11 Sport/LeMans ???
  20. The current smallblocks get 50+mpg, don't they ? Add some long-lasting ME880 tires and I'd say it would make a nice commuter...
  21. Thanks for the links !!!
  22. Profligate : adjective 1. immoral and shameless 2. extremely wasteful; recklessly extravagant Metzeler ME880 : 170/60 R 17 M/C 72V TL. Many people run the 170/60 size on thier late-model Sport/LeMans. Me included. "True Sportsbike", "GT bike". Jeez!!! No one here is comparing a spine-frame Guzzi with a Ducati Superbike... Are you saying that's what you came off of when you bought the Guzzi? As far as tires, hell, BMW sport-tourers come with Bridgestone BT-014s and believe me, there are people that just wish thier K1200s would get 3,000 miles from the factory-installed tires!!! Good luck with whatever your next bike is. I hope you sell your Ballabio quickly. I'd try Ebay, too. (Keep in mind that KBB is notoriously optimistic with Guzzi prices).
  23. "Wrecklessly wasteful" ??? You have got to be kidding!!! 3,000 miles out of sportsbike tire is the norm. Why didn't you just replace the tire with a Metzeller ME880 or a Dunlop Roadsmart and get about 10,000 miles of riding out of the tires if "touring" is your angle ? Just curious to know what you were riding before trying to make the Ballabio your daily ride ?
  24. The Stelvio is no "dual sport"... It's not even an "adventure tourer".
  25. Guzzi have no "dual sport", either...
