  1. Yes...
  2. I bought the Nero Corsa not really knowing how I'd ride it. After putting the H+B bags on it (and my Quota breaking down), it turned into my "touring bike" in '06 when I rode with some friends on that 4500 mile trip to Utah. There is always that trade-off with tires. I know it would handle GREAT with Pilot Power or BT-014 tires, but they'd only last 3000 miles. It's been doing great on the Z6. They handle great and have acceptable wear at around 6500 miles. I'd hate to give up too much handling performance by going to Marathons because I do live in The Hills and the going gets very twisty here... Compromises, compromises...
  3. Have you run the Marathon on your V11? The last time I took my LeMans on a long trip, 4500 miles, I left with a new set of Z6s. As you can imagine, they were well worn by the time I returned home. I wouldn't mind trying a longer-lived tire on the LeMans since I tend to use it more for "touring" than for "sport"...
  4. Yep. Always a good thing to keep a couple of pressure gauges on hand... Glad it was a simple fix!
  5. Yep. I'd check steering bearings, then wheel bearings, then the swing arm pivot. What cold PSI are you running in your tires? What tires are you running?
  6. Moto Lights rock!!!
  7. It's not "Harley Guys" getting away with anything. HD, Triumph, Guzzi, and all the Japanese manufacturers factory equip cruisers with 2 auxiliary lamps to compliment the single headlight. Electraglide, California Vintage, etc. 55w is legal in the USA for AUX lights. Some people run 35w, but that is thier choice, not the law. The size doesn't have anything to do with anything. Where did you come up with this stuff ??? Seriously ???
  8. You got a source for that ??? Three HEADLIGHTS "may" be illegal for automobiles, but I can assure you that a headlight and two AUX lights is NOT illegal for MOTORCYCLES. HD has been factory equipping motorcycles with "passing lamps" for at least 50-years... Not to mention all the JAP cruisers. Millions of motorcycles in the USA run a headlight and two AUX lights...
  9. Each to his own, I suppose... I like the G+B kit bike.
  10. +1 to what I've quoted from your post above. Generally speaking, I think running on highbeams sucks. Modern moto headlights are bright and do more to piss people off than to help the rider. A lone bike out on a low density highway = hi beam A lone bike on curvy mountain roads = hi beam The rest of the time it's low beam unless I'm in congested city traffic and I feel like I need more conspicuity. I really believe the three light triangle is the best thing for front end motorcycle conspicuity.
  11. Not many. I'd be surprised if it was 100. It may be more like 50. I do know that about 50 each of the Nero Corsa and Coppa Italia were brought in that year. If you keep it stock and pristine, in 20 or 30 years it might be a collectible oddity. Right now it's rare, but not collecitble, and not worth a whole lot of money. Keep in mind that ALL Guzzis are rare by most standards! It's your bike, do with it what you want. If I had a spare V11 Sport variant around, I'd be ordering up a body kit from Ghezzi + Brian and building a killer back road burner/track bike...
  12. Here ya go !!! The ultimate "FrankenGuzzi" http://www.horvath-guzzi.at/start.htm
  13. They've been great on my Sport 1100 !!! Less than 3,000 miles life, though...
  14. I'm running Metzeler Z6 Roadtec, sister tire to the Pirelli Diablo Strada. They last between 6k and 7k miles for me. Handling and grip is really nice for a Sport-Touring tire.
  15. You could use the longer OE footpeg brackets and "low mount" the cans. I believe this is what Greg Field and VA Sean have done.
  16. Great opportunity to do this:
  17. Skeeve called it. Stunta doing wheelies.
  18. Not a bad idea. I know I would like more conversation about the Daytona/Sport 1100/MGS-01. I own a 1996 Carb'd Sport 1100 that lives in the garage next to my 2004 Nero Corsa.
  19. I suppose there is more than one way to skin a cat. This is a wonderful site. Very focused. Lots of good info on the V11. I like it. On the other hand, www.advrider.com started as a BMW GS site and over the past five or six years has expanded into a site with all kinds of members with all kinds of interests. In that time, it's gone from a few hundred members to about 60,000 members. I suppose it depends on what Jaap wants to do with it. I wish the site was more active, but with only a few thousand V11s in the world I suppose the traffic is not too bad!
  20. My Sport 1100 has been tipped over TWICE by people who had no business messing with my bike and weren't smart enough to realize the noise they heard was the sidestand retracting. That being said, after eleven years, I still have the stock sidestand. Sometimes, I'll bungee the stand to the front wheel if I'm worried where it's parked. Recently, I've thought of changing things so the stand will stay down when the bike is moved.... Haven't taken the time to mess with it, yet... So I guess I am also undecided on what to do about the Italian suicide stand...
  21. Here ya go, Joe:
  22. Not mine. For those who are interested click the link: Nero Corsa on Ebay It's in Bellingham, Washington, USA
  23. Hi Jim, Thanks for asking. I still have the Nero Corsa, but it's not currently for sale. I needed a little cash to help with a career change and thought I'd try to sell one of my Guzzis. Quite frankly, I was amazed/disappointed/insulted at most of the correspondence I had from people about this bike so I took it off the market. I was able to scrape up the cash I needed elsewhere, so the need to sell a bike has passed for the time being. That's not to say that it may not be available again at some point in the future. For now, I'm using it as my sport-touring mount. Stick around the forum. It's a great resource for our bikes. Maybe we'll get together and ride sometime. The Guzzista crowd is quite sparse here in Arkansas... Check your PMs...
  24. Rockers Rule !!!
  25. I ride my Nero Corsa in the 4,000 to 6,000 rpm range 95% of the time. Any mods that I make to the bike would need to give me something in that rpm range.
